Love the way they handle meat and leave a load on my pizza they may be called papa Vito's but I prefer to call them daddy

Picked up a roast beef sandwich from Papa Vito's while visiting family in town. The shop isn't much to look at, but the sandwiches are terrific. And big! Enjoyed half for dinner Saturday, saved the rest for lunch on the way back to Georgia on Monday. I ordered by phone. Still had to wait for a few minutes for the sandwich to come out of the oven, but not long. I've had their pizza in the past, but not this trip. It is always good. read more

We were at a friends house and they ordered in Papa Vito's for a group of us. They ordered a variety of items and WOW was I impressed with what we had. - philly cheesesteak sandwich - buffalo chicken sandwich - meatball sandwich - pizza Now, I'm not a huge sandwich person so I wasn't that excited when these arrived... I do like meatballs so I was like - okay I'll try the meatball. The friend suggested taking a small slice of each to try them and I decided that was a good idea. Guess what - it was a fabulous idea! I loved it all! There were a bunch of leftovers and I loved it so much I ate these leftover sandwiches all week long. Just thinking about all those warm, gooey cheese, perfect bread, amazing flavors sandwiches has me craving Papa Vito's right now and might have to go there to get my fix. *Note that I didn't try the pizza, but everyone else loved it. read more

I called to place an order and the gentleman who took my order was very polite. Their garden salad with their house salad is mouthwatering! The pizza was fully loaded with toppings and cheese. Their pizza puts Imo's to shame. Even though the store is very small, it was clean and organized. Was greeted when I walked in. Definitely won my business! read more

The salads very good and large salads and salad dressing. BLT IS GOOD. The pizza we tried (thin crust) sausage. The sauce taste very good but a lot of it, too much. We both love cheese but way over bored on the cheese. We also liked the crust until we got to the second row of slices. So much sauce and cheese it makes the center mushy and the crust is soaked. We are going to try again but this time we'll order half as much sauce and cheese. One more item, they have very cold beer! read more

Guess what? You can experience food from heaven here on earth; specifically here at this pizza shop for only $13.99 deluxe large to go on Thursday nights. It's interesting because they don't even have the name out front. It is a small town so everyone probably knows about it but who knew that this tiny storefront would house heavenly pizza?! I truly marvel at how outstanding it is! I drive about 25 miles to go here. Of course I make a day of it and the town is darling. Please note though the pizza shop is tiny you wouldn't want to dine in; I think they have maybe 2 or 3 tables but suit yourself. I take mine num,num,num to go. read more

Home town place with big city taste. Just a few seats so come early or get it to go. There's a reason you can wait an hour or more for a pie. Fresh ingredients and house made meats. Food is good and you get plenty of it. Recommend the Philly sandwich and the BLT salad.

She asks if the pizza at the other locations tastes the same as at this one. He starts talking about the pizza oven in this location. It's a CTX-70 built in 1982. They don't make them anymore. It's all electric, but no forced air. There is control for the top and bottom heat. Now, I don't really understand what all that means, but the bottom line is that the oven in this particular location is unique and cooks the pizzas in a way that the owner finds superior. DON'T EVER EAT at PAPA VITO'S PIZZA in Waterloo!!! WORST SERVICE and was treated EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFULLY!!! I was quoted 1hr-1hr 10 mins... Over 2 hours later I my food delivered to have liquid in the bottom of the box!!! The crust was mush like soggy bread!!! The manager wouldn't talk to me on the phone, they wanted to take my name and number to call me another time and they also REFUSED to deliver a new pizza to me!!! I drove there and there are NO CUSTOMERS just 10-15 employees and the manager or owner standing around the counter... No one ever apologized and he refused to give money back. He said he'd call me tomorrow and work it out... I said that I wasn't leaving without him refunding my money or voiding the debit card. When I walked in and they were all standing around but to busy to talk to me I open up the pizza box and "I asked is this how you several ALL your pizzas?" He says YEP!!! I said there's liquid inside the box. He said it's just REALLY JUICY pizza... I picked up a slice and said this is mush like pouring water on bread!!! That's when he said to leave my name and number and he'd call me tomorrow to work it out... I said I waited OVER 2Hrs for a pizza that I can't eat. You told me you had the kid on the phone tell me that you wouldn't deliver another pizza to me. So I'm not leaving without a refund so I can go get dinner somewhere else. He told me he was going to call the police 2 different times, I said I waited over 2hours for my dinner that I can't even eat. (At this time it's been 2 hrs 40mins). I said go ahead call the police or refund my money and I'll gladly leave and get dinner elsewhere... He said FINE! Papa Vito's is a tiny hole-in-the-wall place in Waterloo, IL and it just so happens to sell some of the best food I've ever had. Granted, I've never met a pizza or sub sandwich I didn't like. Papa Vito's serves traditional St. Louis style pizza, cracker thin with the toppings piled high. You won't find any provel cheese here, though. (And thank goodness!) The garlic bread and wings are to-die-for, and I would highly recommend enjoying some while you wait on your pizza or sandwich. If you do eat inside, it can be kind of crowded as I'm pretty sure this place only seats 10-12 people at any one time. But remember, if you dine-in or choose carry-out, this place is cash only, so don't forget. read more

I have even called within 5 minutes of Papa Vito's opening and it still took an hour and 20 minutes to get the pizza, Sometimes the best just isn't worth the wait when second best can get it to you in 30 to 40 minutes. read more

Love Papa's pizza. My favorite St. Louis style pizza and one of the best pizzas I've had in general. Every time I make the trip back home a stop in here is always a must. We usually roll with deluxe (supreme) some wings, and a salad with the house dressing. They also have awesome cheese bread and garlic bread. read more

Not happy with the rewards program app should not have to collect my credit card information and use the same credit card every visit to get the rewards. Salads are wonderful and plentiful but how about some low-calorie or fat free dressing. And please watch the pizzas more carefully when an inch around the outer edge of the pizza is burnt there is a problem there. read more

I ordered from the Waterloo store for delivery. I ordered several sandwiches, stuffed bread and their garden salad. I cannot give them enough stars, everything was fantastic! The sandwiches we ordered were the Honeybaked Turkey and the Honeybaked Ham and they were delicious! The salad was huge and was covered with very generous toppings. The stuffed bread was just straight up dynamite! Will be ordering again real soon!! read more

The place is tiny, smaller than small, seats about 18 if you count the seats, in the historic part of town. Everyone in the area that is dressed up headed to another restaurant here, everyone else seems to come here. They are disorganized and only have the one oven. So expect to cool your heels for 45minutes before you get to eat. Yes, they do take major credit cards if no one is on the phone. But, it is Good pizza (no, not worth waiting too long for it): st.louis style thin crust with lots of toppings, and interesting special combos. The meat lovers is piled high, the Vito's Special is an everything on it that works well. The crust stays crispy all the way through eating it, no soggy middle pieces. No Provel, but they do over-sprinkle with off-brand parmesan 'dust'. I would not drive 50miles just to eat here, but I would pick this pizza over any other in this town or any town adjacent when here. read more

We have Eaten at Papa Vito's in Ofallon, IL many times and loved it so when we saw this on in Waterloo so close we dicided to go. Small, not clean, we waited atleast an hour for our pizza and wings with maybe 8 other people in the place. The food was okay until we got home. Sorry to say it made us both pretty sick! Finally got to try Papa Vitos tonight. Ordered pepperoni & mushroom pizza and the roast beef sandwich to go. It was about 430pm and they were already busy. The young man who took the order was efficient and nice. Said it would be ready in 1/2 hour. Came back at that time and order was ready. I'm on a cane and the gentleman who seemed in charge told the young man to take it out to the car for me. I thought it was a very kind gesture, especially as busy as they were. The pizza was hot and delicious. Probably the best I've had in a long time. Same for the roast beef. It was really big with plenty of beef and cheese. This is a good place. Pizza is very good. Order times are a nightmare. We order carry out and the estimated time is always more than an hour and is never even close to ready on time. The garden salad is HUGE and amazingly good! Also, don't miss the homemade desserts because they're definitely worth it. We had a piece of chocolate cheesecake and also peach custard pie on one visit and we were very impressed! The desserts change weekly which makes it fun to see what's offered the next time you're in. The food is really great. I've had the pizza, a calzone, toasted ravs and my girlfriend has had the meatball sandwich. Everything we've eaten there has been outstanding. Definitely order with some time to spare as they get super busy and it can take a while to get the food. I would recommend take-out or delivery over eating there just because it gets cramped and smoky (from the oven, not cigarettes) since it's such a tiny place.
