This was the worst service I have ever received. We had terrible waiter the food was bland the wait time almost two hrs before we got our food. When I talked to the waiter she could care less that I was upset with the service. then I talked to the person in charge it turned out to be the head cook and the waiters dad. the head cook tells me it's not my job to make me happy when I told him the service was terrible... he was standing there and was arguing with me about it....I did not tip them I will not ever eat there again...I will recommend that others not eat there also, terrible place. read more

Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. The house salad was the star of the meal 100%!!! Was told the dressing is made in house, and it was fantastic. Plenty of inside seating and what looks to be an outside patio as well so it would be good for big groups/small groups/ any type of setting. Such a gem in Waterloo! I think it's my favorite Italian place now. I think an amazing restaurant is when you order something that's not your usual and sounds questionable but turns out to be amazing - that was the case with the cucumber soup. Not a big cucumber fan, but it sounded refreshing on a hot summer night. It. Was. Delicious. My husband got the salad with house vinaigrette - one of the best vinaigrettes I've had - sweet and not sour. I had the special - four cheese ravioli with a pork sauce. It was so good and unique. I came here with some friends for dinner before going to the playhouse. Food was delicious, service was quick and friendly, ambiance was casual. street parking was available, although we parked around the corner closer to the playhouse. There are several restaurants around here and others had a long wait so we ended up here and did not have to wait for a table. We sat ourselves and had a delicious meal. Be aware that this is a place you seat your self when you arrive o/w it is a bit Awkward when you walk in and just stand there. Or at least it feels that way. Ha. We stopped in here on a very busy Saturday night. Waitress was with us after a few minutes. She was nice but seemed new. We both ordered house wines- they were just okay. Our appetizer was delicious- bruschetta. However waitress never brought us individual plates to use. Fortunately the table was small enough for both us to be able to reach the server plate. Our meals were okay - seafood canoloni and chicken spedini. Each came with house salad which was basic. My husband also found something stuck on the inside of his wine glass. Gave it to the owner who I watched use a toothpick to retrieve spot. Then he poured a bit more in the same glass and brought it back to table telling us it was just a piece of cork. Kind weird. Food was lukewarm. Not the lasagna we expected at all. Staff was attentive and only 3 tables of customers so would not expect less.

Was good years ago but last time might be the last. House salad was soupy with dressing and the red sauce in the pasta was almost non existent. Bread was good. We were seated near the bar eating about 8 pm and out comes our waitress with a tub of utensils and wham down on the bar and starts to wrap them for tomorrow? Nice outdoor dining area brought us here. Plenty of space between tables, and umbrellas for shade. Waitress was masked and polite. Those are all positives. Unfortunately, the food and service were more of a mixed bag. Somehow, they ran out of Coke. And, in general, the service was very slow. My cod sandwich was pretty good (the fish part), but the bun was burnt. Meanwhile, the fries were a soggy mess -- the most disappointing part of the meal. They were oily and soft throughout. Food is terrible. I've been there twice now. Way over priced. Lasagna says best in town but I got a bunch of small portions of scraps in a lot of grease. Had a very good meal here and will be back. The chicken parmigiana that I got was very good, the salad was good, and the dinner bread they put on the table was very good. My wife got the baked Ziti which was pretty good but the chicken parmigiana was definitely better and the reason for the 5 stars. Ordered the salmon - it was raw so they brought me another salmon. It was raw too so they boxed me up a to go box with another salmon since everyone else at the table was finished eating. Tried the salmon the following day and it was awful. Husband's Chicken Marsala was not hot just lukewarm. Lunch special is awesome! For $8.95 you get a choice of generously-sized lunch selections, soup or salad (I recommend the soup-every variety I've tried has been hot and delicious) fresh bread, and a soft drink (they have Coke products which makes us very happy). The quality of food is consistently good, and service is always friendly. We liked Frederico's before, but now that they have moved downtown the space is larger and allows for socially distant dining in a clean, attractive atmosphere. Tip: try the pasta amatriciana. Food not as good as normal, at all. Husband's spaghetti was child size. Waitress awful. From sit down to food was 40 minutes. We finished our beer before we even got our salad and bread. When she brought us our food, asked if there was anything else. We said bread, 2 waters, and parmesean. We got parmesean and that was it. We flagged her down and again asked for bread and TWO waters, we got one water nothing else. She barely checked on us, but had no problems with tending to those who just sat down. Went on a Sunday night, was ok. Lasagna didn't have much flavor but salad with house dressing was good.

Poor service and quality all around. Ordered cheese garlic bread and toasted ravioli as appetizers; the bread was decent, but the toasted ravioli were no better than frozen varieties. Salads were tiny and made from bagged lettuce (even the Caesar one). Cod scampi was good, just cold, as well as the pasta. The pizza was no better than frozen as well. My biggest gripes were that service was EXTREMELY slow, and we were overcharged for 2 of our meals (dinner prices vs lunch). When I questioned the waitress about the overage, she had "discuss it with her manager". After waiting several minutes, I went up to the bar area to find out what was taking so long. While explaining my situation, some guy (I assume to be a worker) throws his hands in the air like I was making a big deal of nothing. It was an overage of $25! Instead of crediting my card, the waitress gave me cash to make up the difference. Definitely would not recommend; IMO's would have been 100% better! Heck, Fazoli's would have been better! read more

This makes our third extremely disappointing trip to the new location. This time my wife ordered the chicken parm which overdone to the point of being rubbery. Shame is, you could see it was overdone without tasting it. I wish I had taken a picture of it for the review. I ordered the lasagna which was so salty that I may need to increase my blood pressure medication, and I like more salt than most. We used to so enjoy dining at his original location, but something went terribly wrong for Freddie after the move. We're out for good. read more

Went for dinner. There were 3 tables finishing up when we arrived. We ordered 2 waters, 2 salads and 2 spaghetti. We also ordered a meal to go for my dad. After we ordered the place started getting busy. It took 20 minutes to get our salads. They were good with a nice house dressing. Our spaghetti took 50 minutes and by the time we got it the plates were extremely hot to the touch from sitting under the heat lamps and the spaghetti was luke warm and dried out. The spaghetti had no real flavor which didn't help. The to-go order was also dried out. Although I will say the Alfredo with shrimp to go had 3 nice size shrimp. Our service was poor. Our waiter never returned to check on us or even refill our water. He wasn't even the one to deliver our food. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed in our dining experience tonight. We recently moved to Waterloo and Italian is my favorite so we were excited to try Frederico's for the pasta. We had been to Frederico's for lunch once before and had fish that was very good. Unfortunately, after tonight's experience with poor food quality and even worse service, it will be hard to return. I'm sad we will have to cross the river for good pasta. :( read more

Not great. When we first walked in it was dead silent and very awkward. Everyone stared and there wasn't even music playing so we felt very uncomfortable. We made a reservation and there was no seating available. After being seated we waited a while for our order to even be taken. The staff was not friendly and seemed like we were a burden. When we got the manager to take our order, they forgot our sides. The people around us complained their food was cold and another party never got their dessert. When they brought us the check they never thanked us for coming in or even told us to have a great rest of the day. Staff did not even talk to us as we had to ask for every thing. Also, too add there was a rated R movie playing on the TV in the dining area which had very inappropriate scenes.
