the heart shaped pizza was ordered for our daycare class party. (2 yos) It was confirmed for an 11 am delivery. the pizza never arrived and they would not answer their telephone. our toddler has to go for a nap with an incomplete lunch in their bellies. Dissatisfied and disappointed read more

well, the dish over all was good. the amount of sliced red sausage really overwhelmed the cheese, and the sauce was pushed up towards the crust. the cheese seemed thin, like you ran out of cheese and decided to spread it out. the bread was good, perfect texture, i could really taste the love that went into making it. the toppings were half assed and the fact that it was cold didn't make it much better. next time, papa john, i expect this pizza to be much better given that you have a whole chain restaurant centering around your pizza. if i wasn't starving, i would consider your pizza unsatisfying- but since i was i'll give it a 9.69/10 read more

This place really needs some work. Not very customer friendly and kind of dirty. I think management must be a problem here

I rate the service at this Papa John's location 11 out of 10. Last night when I realized my ailing parents had not been able to eat anything other than Boost all day due to their medical situation, I ordered them a pizza in hopes that they could have something to eat to get them through the night. I live three and half hours away and was worried sick. When Nate got to the retirement facility, he called me. He stayed on the phone with me as he tried different options to find a person working in the faculty so that he could hand the pizza over. Covid restrictions prevent the delivery people from entering. He finally found someone and took the time to explain to her that my parents couldn't walk down and that the food would need to be delivered to their apartment. I don't know what I would have done if he hasn't gotten that food to them. Thanks so much Nate and Papa Johns! read more

Had to order from them recently. tried to use the web site, but it was designed to sell pizza not to buy pizza. they wanted to upsell, they wanted to split the market 18 different ways. the interface was 'cool' but not clear and not usable. so, I called and payed $1 extra. It was fast and it was ok, but not great. I was asked by someone why are they doing better than better places, and I guess that there is larger bottom to the market than a top. read more

I can't not believe how rude the workers are when placing an order. I was told there would be over an hour wait for a cheese pizza and then hung up on before I could tell the worker I would rather not wait that long. I had to call again and when I did I was treated so poorly. I'm so disappointed in how this establishment treats their costumers. I took my business elsewhere and chose to wait longer for not only a better tasting pizza but also better costumer service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. read more

Not if it depends on the day or even time of day, sometimes the pizza is spot on, other times not so much

This is the LAST time I EVER order from here. I have given it 5 different chances. Tonight at 1:20am i ordered food that I was told would be here in 32-43 minutes. After 50 minutes of waiting, I called and was told that it would be another 30-40 minute wait, What I don't understand it why the tracking website does not update the time. It told me that it was "on the way" 15 minutes after it was supposed to be delivered. I think if a place knows it's going to take over 2 hours to deliver, it should say that on the tracking site. I will NEVER order from here again-because of the time it takes to deliver but also the inaccuracy of the delivery time. Absolutely not worth the multiple chances I have given. read more

I ordered a pizza to the HUB that was never delivered and when I called to see where it was, the manager said that they tried calling me and there was no response. I never received a call and my order is now going to be sent back out when the delivery person returns to the store, so my food will no doubt be cold by then. This is not the first time that they have tried to blame me ( the customer ) for their mistakes. Awful service and really awful attitudes. read more

Expect to have to meet the delivery guy downstairs. This store has adopted a policy of not delivering to apartments in "locked" buildings, meaning anywhere with a call box. No notice of this policy is provided when you order. Actually, after informing me of this policy, my driver said he'd come upstairs anyway "because I'd tipped him well." So I suppose you can do the same, and just think of this policy is just an extra, hidden fee to get your food delivered all the way to your apartment. read more

When you are looking to feed a significant number of people, this Papa John's get's it right ALL the time for me and my colleagues who have to feed hungry college students. And for the price, it is on the dot and the pizza isn't bad. Also they have great over the phone service! read more

Ah, the pizza of all pizza's. Slightly better than Gumby's, but without the poky sticks. Probably the best in town, nice variety of toppings, but there is always a long wait after about 10pm, and do you call north or south atherton? that is the question. Still, always a safe (if pricey) bet. read more

My family love this pizza. My son only eats cheese, he prefers nothing on his pizza but cheese. My daughter and me like the veggies pizza and my husband the one with lots of types of "meat". They have pick-up & delivery. The delivery is also very quick! read more

Have almost always been a dominoes guy but gave this Papa John's location a shot after they had some coupon deals out. Have to say was thoroughly impressed; food came in under 30 minutes, guy I spoke to on the phone and delivery guy were both plenty friendly, and most importantly the pizza was hot with a generous amount of toppings. Will definitely order from here over dominoes from now on when I need a quick pie. Specialty pizzas here are great keep it up. Definite 5/5 for a chain pizza location. read more

We ordered several hundred dollars worth of pizza for a departmental function at PSU. We were told we had to pay for paper plates and napkins!!! After discussion the manager agreed to send them free. But guess what, we didn't get them! Had to scrounge some up from an office. We will never order from them again for a function since they are so stingy! read more

It's Papa John's. It's consistent location to location and you know what you are getting if you have been there before. Would highly recommend trying the local pizza from any of the other places in town. read more

R.J.: Yup, that's Papa. R.L.: Papa has his own day: Wednesday. And the cheese is always in a nice melty state when it arrives. Gooda. Papa is my favorite pizza chain, and this South Atherton location does him justice. read more

I usually don't have a problem with Papa John's, however the location on S Atherton in State College is a sorry excuse for a restaurant. I ordered a pizza today at 1pm and waited about an hour with no delivery or phone call. I called the store and spoke to someone on the phone who said it would be there very soon. I called 2 more times until it was 2:30pm with them saying it would be there soon. I finally called again to cancel my order and spoke to the rudest man over the phone who attempted to make me feel better by saying he was the manager. If that condescending, impolite man is the manager, no wonder this place sucks. He would not apologize or give an estimated time of arrival and after about 5 minutes he offered to waive the charge if my pizza wasn't there IN ANOTHER HOUR. Are you serious?? Nearly 3 hours for delivery, what a joke!! Bring your business elsewhere. Called Dominos after I hung up and had a pizza in my apartment 25 minutes later. read more

Workers are always rude. The pizza is horrible. They may still be open but I see this franchise going under sooner than later

This review is not for the pizza. I find their pizza to be average at best. I'm giving them 4 stars for their wings. Especially the honey chipotle wings. They were fantastic the last time I had them. Finger licking good. read more

Hair in my pizza! it was baked into the crust. Disgusting. The cocky attitudes of the male workers was totally uncalled for. We will rethink next time we want pizza where to order from. read more

Simply horrible. It's my fault for eating pizza someone else ordered without finding out where it's from. Very acidic sauce, with no spices as far as I could taste. The crust was reminiscent of the early frozen pizzas of the eighties, bread-y instead of crust-y. Probably the worst I've ever eaten. read more
