After recently moving back to Bellefonte I've been trying my old spots to eat. Let's start with service, I was greeted an sat right away I knew what I wanted so I ordered on the spot. I ordered a cheesesteak and a slice of pizza by the time my slice of pizza came out my drink was gone he gave my slice of pizza with no warning about how hot it is and proceeded to leave without offering me another drink but to wait for him to return a few minutes later with my sub to ask if I wanted another (cooks should not be waiters!) pizza was delicious wants it was cooled down a little. Ok let's talk about the cheesesteak I ordered it as a 14 inch with only cheese extra mayo and lettuce first half was amazing but the second half had a lot of fatty pieces of meat witch I had removed I also believe there bread is to long for there sandwich's well at least the cheesesteak there is like a half inch of bread you could take off, also in my opinion they use to much lettuce probably filling the void that would be there if they did not, like I was saying smaller bread would most likely complement the portions. The space is little quiet and tucked in a little, away from a busy intersection overall decent experience. After receiving my bill I would more then likely predict that if they had lower prices they'd have more customers coming in to eat there food like the pizza mediums their subs for an example a slice of pepperoni pizza is $5 had a 4 star but now bring it down to a 2 hope to see future changes but more then likely not. read more

I order delivery from this place about once a month and I've done so for years now. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the inconsistency. I order the same thing almost every time, the Crispy Chicken Salad and I can say it's never been the same twice, even though I order from Slice and just reorder the previous order. I realize part of the problem may be that I'm ordering salad from a pizza place. You can order the chicken with a sauce, and they give you a choice. I always order the buffalo sauce. Sometimes the chicken is tossed in the sauce, other times you just get a cup of sauce on the side. Tonight several ingredients were missing, I received mostly a box of lettuce, very few onions, no mozzarella cheese, no croutons. And Nellie, our waitress was the absolute best. She pulled an extra table over for us and made us feel right at home. She made the experience even better. We called in for two wedges(dogeys) and five mozzarella sticks. He said $34. What? So we scratched one sandwich. Any way, when we got home and opened the box, we were disappointed. The doe in the dogey was super thin, like a pita, and under cooked to boot! Lol. Seriously, that was one of the most pathetic sandwiches I have ever saw in my life. We had to stop in for pizza, its been about 3 years since we moved from bellefonte to Pittsburgh and my boyfriend misses it so. He enjoyed the pizza but i was a little disappointed. The homemade greek dressing was mostly oil for my salad. It didn't have the flavor i expected. The pizza crust seemed thinner than i remembered. Otherwise service and the pizza was still great. I think the owners should consider having a more adult presence at the restaurant. The kids working werent the cleanest. I saw a lot of hands touching hair and not being washed. Pizza Mia has one of the best Dill Pickle pizzas that I have ever tasted. The crust is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The garlic sauce is fantastic and the pizza has just the right amount of dill and pickles. My friend ordered a breakfast pizza with eggs, bacon, sausage and ham and it looked fantastic as well. I used to be employed by pizza Mia. I have to say that experience was sub par. Not impressed with the way the staff was treated and after my visit (a year and a half later) to the Bellefonte location. I was even more displeased. From a former employee stand point I can say the doagies were really good. That is however if they are made right. Per my request I asked for house dressing on the side, no tomatoes, and extra cheese. We received this item with barely any cheese, smothered in house dressing and many many tomatoes. It wasn't even cut correctly. I called the staff to explain my issues. I am allergic to tomatoes and I explained that at the restaurant. I was met with attitude and I was told that the food was made right. That I was just trying to get free food. I don't think they remember that I was a former employee, of course because I worked at the lock haven location. I remember how to make that doagie and again I was more than disappointed. Also they claim to use fresh ingredients, that is only partially true. They fabricate and make up stories to fit what they want you to believe. For a pizza place, that is supposed to be lighthearted and friendly. They are extremely shady, disrespectful, and rude. Very pleased with the service and food here. I'll start off by saying they were open on Labor Day, which was HUGELY helpful for showing my family around town and having somewhere to take them for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant, were seated very quickly, and had our drinks and order taken within 2 minutes. The pizza was fresh because they seemed to just be making to order today. We ordered the large California veggie pizza, which was loaded with vegetables in the description and on the pizza itself! I've known Pizza Mia's as an establishment that gets its ingredients locally, and you could taste it in the pizza. So fresh, all it needed was a little bit of oregano and garlic powder and it was perfect. Will absolutely be returning to try the studded eggplant and the cinnamon sticks! We've enjoyed the pizza from here several times. Pizzas are pretty large and our whole family enjoys them. I've had several friends try it and they keep asking for us to take them back to Pizza Mia. Severly undercooked. Dough was gummy, vegetables raw. Called to tell them and got a manager who said "What do you want me to do about it." Claimed he couldn't do anything since I ordered thru Grubhub. Told him "Well I guess we'll just have to cook it all the way but heads up, your sending out undercooked food." First off, the pizza is delicious; I consider Pizza Mia to be among the top three in town in terms of flavor. That said, the service is HORRIBLE. 1. On one occasion they delivered the wrong pizza (wrong size and wrong toppings). 2. I ordered two slices on a cold evening when I was the only customer in the store. They said it would take 10 minutes to heat the slices, and that they'd bring them to me in the dining area. After 20 minutes I went to the counter to ask about the slices. They said they'd burned (!) the two slices and had to re-do them. Again, I was the ONLY customer in the store. 3. Pretty much anything I've ordered has taken a looooong time to get. read more

Was very hungry and happened to be in Bellefonte so stopped for 2 slices of pizza (1-pepperoni 1- garlic). Normally when your starving you can eat two week old roadkill and it would be great. Don't waste your money. I recently moved to bellefonte and want to support locals. I ordered delivery at 5pm and was told 5:50 arrival, I live three/four blocks away. It arrived after 6:10. The pizza was cold and extremely greasy. It wasn't the worst slice I've ever had but it is pretty low on the list. The crispy chicken salad was fine, small amount of chicken but it tasted okay. It's hard to mess up lettuce, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. Oh the croutons are kinda gross and really hard. I got an order of fries, which were soggy and cold and the mozzarella sticks weren't even cooked. Luckily I have an air-fryer to fix them but they still tasted gross. To start off, I have always enjoyed the food I have eaten here. The biggest issue I have is with the rudeness of the people answering the phones & the insane amount of time it takes for delivery. On an random sunday night, I ordered a hoagie and chips. It took over an hour to arrive..which seems a bit ridiculous to me. There have been other times when similarly small orders took at least an hour to arrive. On the plus side, the drivers have always been friendly & most apologize about the time it took to get my food.. maybe they too realize how ridiculous the wait times are. Really terrible service. Not sure what is going on there, but just saw someone else post a negative review for tonight so it's clear it wasn't just us. After a long day driving, this was one of the few options open near our hotel. We ordered from a group of guys who seemed stoned and more interested in singing songs and telling each other jokes than working. We were told it would be 10 minutes. We check in 10 minutes later and it's not ready. Then 20 minutes have passed and the guys realize when my husband inquires that they haven't even started the order. In all, it took more than half an hour (three times what we were quoted) to get our food, and for no apparent reason other than laziness. No offer to give a discount or any attempt to make amends for forgetting to place our order. read more

Just ordered from here and I was very disappointed. The marinara sauce on my spaghetti was not very good. It was thick, oily, and the overwhelming flavor of wine ruined it for me. I also ordered cinnamon sticks that were doused and sitting in a pool of butter (they forgot to give us icing too, which is advertised in the picture), our cinnamon bun was burned at the bottom, literally inedible. Pizza Mia is our favorite local pizza place. The food is consistently delicious and delivery times are always reasonable. We have ordered from them many times and never had a problem...until today. The young man who took the order struggled a great deal with understanding simply our phone number when my husband called in. The food arrived on time, but it was not the food we ordered in the slightest. Susan, the manager, was fast to start the food that would have been our correct order and send it on our way. Love family-operated businesses for their devotion to delivering to the customer! Our corrected order was delivered promptly, warm and wonderful. Sure, it would've been great to get the correct order on time, but it was truly wonderful to have the error dealt with so promptly and graciously. Even though it didn't work out perfectly in the beginning, I am still happy to give this restaurant five stars thanks to Susan's wonderful customer service. We will be back with no reservations. The pizza is fine - not wonderful - just fine. I recommend never asking for delivery on a Tuesday. I placed an order online around 7 pm since I waited on hold on the phone for over 5 minutes. Received a confirmation that the pizza should arrive by 8 pm. Considering I only live a block or so away, I should have dined in or walked over and got it. It had been a bad day and I wanted delivery. At 8:15, I called to inquire about it and was told it was out the door. At 8:45, I called again and was told it was out the door - so I reminded the employee that I had been told that 30 minutes earlier. I told the person that it had better arrive within 5 minutes or they could keep it. The driver arrived within the 5 minutes and with 0 change. I asked him if this pizza was going to be hot and he said he just picked it up. Guess what - the pizza was cold. Stone cold. I called to complain, and was offered a new pizza but at 9 pm - I don't want a new pizza, I wanted my pizza hot and 45 minutes ago. I should have been offered a free pizza or a significant coupon towards a future pizza. It will be a long time before I order delivery from Pizza Mia again. I am very capable of holding a long grudge. read more

I can't speak to the pizza, but the pasta was not good. The marinara sauce was terrible so I can't really imagine the pizza is good. The portions were very small and the prices were higher than I expected. We bought some cookies on impulse at the register and those were awful too. I never know what to expect when I order from the Bellefonte locale. The associates answering the phone are either rude or condescending, and the online menu is a mess. But the constant price gouging is really the last straw. I'd ordered a 14 inch pizza and the price differentials for 2 inches of pizza more in the form of a 16 inch was almost $7!!! Are you kidding me, for extra cheese? Not to mention the shady delivery charge and the delivery drivers that cut you off in traffic then flip you the bird in front of your child. Also leaving me with an uneasy feeling was the fact that from Jan 1st till almost mid March there were NO PRICES listed in their online menu. This is Bellefonte- if you wanna last for the long mg haul get your prices, service and quality of your products on point. If I'm paying over $30 for a pizza and a side it better be flawless. Pizza Mia is definitely recommended for their Garlic bread sticks. Super delicious, amazing sauce and yummy texture. Must try!
