After trying out the vegan lifestyle for a few months, I had stopped eating pizza from pizza places. I would go to the store and get the sauce, veggies, and dough to make my own pizza. After going back to incorporating chicken in my diet and other foods, I decided to get pizza from Papa John's for my brothers and I. I figured we deserved it after spending awhile taking down Christmas lights and getting our Christmas tree. I was very happy that I made this decision. I missed their pizza! I love the garlic sauce it always comes with, and the pizza overall is my favorite to get from besides Blaze. They usually have excellent online deals. I get texts every so often for a deal that is better than ordering over the phone or in person at the store. I had a deal where you could get two large pizzas with ANY toppings you wanted on it for just $20 and change! It worked out great because my brothers hate their veggies haha. So I was able to get one pizza loaded with veggies and chicken for my mom and I, and the other one with whatever they wanted on it. Seems like they spent millions advertising their Halloween pumpkin shape pizza but zero preparing for the the rush! When I ordered the pizza I was told it would take HOURS! I drove over thinking it was a mistake but nope the place was packed with people waiting forever for their orders! I asked if I can order from another Papa Johns and was told that they're probably backed up too! I then asked to cancel my order and was told I would get a refund within 3-5 days. WHAT? After hearing and seeing the delicious looking ads for their pizza and the new Papadia we finally had our first Papa John's COVID experience. Well, I have to tell you, it's truly a case where a picture is far better than the actual product. It's amazing what a good stylist can do to entice you to try it. Their claim about so much cheese is far from accurate and the same for the amount of filling and the sparse amount of banana pepper. Their was so little cheese that it couldn't even stick together. We also ordered two pizzas, one pepperoni, one mushroom. While I give them 4 stars for the preparation,cooking and flavor of the dough, the amount of toppings was haphazardly scattered and was very sparse. Jalapeño dough bites were like an afterthought. We found it strange, but when we ordered on the phone and requested curbside delivery, we were told that it wasn't offered. So, we agreed to come into the store expecting that they'd be complying with all of the required health regulations. What we found, was that not all of the employees werwearing gloves, and only some wearing masks, if you call a mask around your neck but only up to the mouth and not covering it. It's nice to support local, especially during these hard times, but it's got to be worth it and they should deliver what they advertise. read more

We had some friends over and we saw an ad on the TV for the Shaq pizza so we ordered one expecting it to look like the ad. When my husband brought it home we found 12 spots that did not have pepperoni and there was no evidence the pepperoni shifted. It sure did not look like the advertisement. I saw a long strand of hair in my pizza and I decided to call to reorder so that by the time I get back there it would be ready but the guy who answered the phone placed me on hold and never came back on the line and so I hung up and called back and he quickly placed me on hold again without answering the phone. Horrible customer service, they delivered the wrong item and when called they accused the customer of lying because the driver was "100% sure she gave the right drink" and told that if we wanted to exchange it then we'd have to bring it back ourselves followed by the employer then hanging up on us. bad experience I never had before. First off we would like to say we love papa john pizza and always order from papa johns and no other pizza company. My brother had order the pizza and we had waited over two hours on what's going on. We call them after we received a text, we didn't see, not a phone call that they arrived. They always knock on the door to deliver our pizza and this time they didn't. We never had a problem.This time we did not hear a call nor a knock on the door. We received a text message. We went out and didn't see anyone and try calling the text message number. We did not get an answer. We then call the main store number to notify them. They say they were unable to get in and left the area & could not deliver our pizza. We had informed them our apartment number and ask why they did not call our phone directly. They say they don't know why and say they would send out delivery again. We told them to call the number directly if they have any problem when they arrive. Two hours later, we did not get a call or a knock on the door or text. We stand outside waiting the entire time to catch them drive up. We didn't see anyone. my brother call the main store again and was placed on hold for an hour then the call disconnected on him. I had call back to see what was going on. I ask nicely and was not anger or upset I just ask what is the status on the pizza. I talk to Roberto, he gave me a long pause and did not answer the question. I told him that we were outside waiting and we don't know what's going on. His response was that it was our fault. No Explanation. I had to ask what did he mean. He say that they send out two delivery already and it's our fault we were not there. I explain we were outside waiting a long time and no one contact or call us directly as we requested. I ask nicely to speak to the manager. Roberto had a attitude in his tone placed me on hold. He did not return back to the call. Had to call back again and ask for a manager. The guy sound like roberto & had an attitude saying he was the manager. The guy did not allow us to talk or even explain what happen with the pizza. He say it was our fault and that they didn't do anything on their end. It's all on us. We only ask for the status of the delivery and if they was not able to be deliver if they would refund the money back. We spoke kindly, the person on the line was loud & irate and did not speak in a professional tone manner saying if we don't have the pizza deliver it is our fault only. I am very sad and disappointed that this has happen and hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. I would say the people and the management did not handle this situation properly. They did not display good customer service. We were very patient and kind, they snap and took frustration out on us which we did not deserve.
