Underneath the pizza was all black and tasted burnt. Not a fan.
    Laura D.

Not a fan of the burnt crust. The whole pizza tasted burnt. My fingers were covered in black dust from holding the pizza. I wanted to like them since they're so close to my job but definitely won't order again.

Stopped by here doing the week and it was pretty empty. I decided to get the antipasto salad and the broccoli pizza with a nice glass of Italian sangria. The antipasto was very good with a nice amount of meat and cheese. The pizza was good as well, the ratio of broccoli and cheese was perfect and had a nice taste but growing up eating New York pizza, the burnt/crispy crust just wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad by any means but just wasn't for me. The restaurant was nice and clean, service was ok. Not the best, not the worst. They offer lunch specials and have a nice selection of pizza. Now that I've finally tried New Haven style pizza I'd say it's a one and done for me but if you like that style pizza I think you'll like it here.

Original Clam Pie- medium $31.50 with tax :/

I first went to Frank Pepe when I lived in New York and work traveled in New York, Massachusetts in Connecticut for almost a decade. I had heard this was one of the first pizzerias in the United States and legendary- this 100 year-old pizzeria based out of New Haven Connecticut uses a 100 year-old coal fired oven to make their pizzas. Coal fired oven pizza tastes different- it's incredible. I think it blows Anthony's coal fired away. They are famous for their clam pizza, which is a white pizza made with fresh clams from the Connecticut shore. I was apprehensive to try it for the first time, as clams on a pizza sounds weird! But it was one of the best pies I've ever had. Excellent pizza is very difficult to find in South Florida, at least it has been for almost the last decade. When I heard that Frank Pepe opened in the Plantation Walk a year or so ago, I was incredibly excited and have wanted to visit for quite some time. I finally got there and ordered a clam pie for old time sake. The new franchise location is big, loud and has an originally built looking Coal fired oven. The pizza was fantastic as I remembered from Connecticut . While they are a little expensive, they are still some of the best pies available in Broward. While the clams weren't as fresh as the ones that the original location offered being so close to the ocean, they were very good . I'm looking forward to going back to try a few other pies. There is plenty of inside seating, and they also have a nice patio outside. While there is no bar, they do have a pretty simple beer and wine menu. Parking in plantation walk can be a little difficult, especially during prime hours-that's the only issue I had with the Location. I'm looking forward to going back and sampling more of these excellent coal fired pizzas !

Chicken Diavalo pie. Medium. Had to have a slice immediately.

I love Frank Pepe's! Flavorful, crispy pizza with char from the brick oven. Their Chicken Diavolo is my favorite. Packed with flavor and the Gorgonzola adds such a delicious tang. The grilled onions are so good and overall it's just a great pizza. A bit heavy so it will fill you up.

First off, I love the location of this place. It's very family oriented and on the outside it feels like you're in a mall. So it's a great place to bring the little kids to be outdoors. Especially in the winter time it's an awesome place to walk to digest the food. The restaurant is pretty nice and modern on the inside. You can tell they take good care of this place and that the restaurant is new. My waitress was very kind and extremely attentive. I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered cheese pizza And a cup of water. I kept it pretty simple. The food arrived less than 10 minutes later. I was amazed at how fast the food came out. The food was extremely hot. So I had to start off with a fork and knife. But the first thing I noticed is that the cross was so delicious and chart. That's actually how I like it. You can really taste the flavor and the coal in it. The quality is so good and even the condiments like the Parmesan are made with good quality. You can tell that the Parmesan Condiment isn't some dried up garbage that they serve at some of these other places. The pizza was delicious and I'm definitely going to come back. I told my wife about this place and I'm pretty sure we will be here the next month or after.

Nice, tossed Italian salad that 2 or 3 can splt. But like the Caesar, one container of dressing is NOT enough! Ask for two!

This was a mixed experience, and the first and LAST time I use Uber Eats! There's just NO quality control when you depend on a third-party delivery service! We ordered The Special, large. The pizza toppings, sauce and cheese were great. But the crust was burned black in too many places. Had I dined-in or picked it up myself, I would have checked and sent it back. The Caesar and Chopped Italian salads were generous and good, but they should have included TWO dressings for each not just one. It was too dry and tasteless. But I believe in SECOND chances, so when I go back I will pick up the order myself (and double-check it). Lessons learned!!!!

Half and half large tomato pie and bacon onion.
    Karen P.

The crust and flavor was really good. I also had a buratta salad. Very good. We ordered a tomato pie which had a white sauce. Not my favorite but got some sauce on the side. I prefer red sauce the other half was bacon and onion. Could not find any bacon. Crust was the best part. Good ambiance and service too. Got $10 off for signing up for the app.

Small 12" Tomato pie with mozzarella

I was excited to try frank Pepe's after seeing it online. Service brought down the experience for me. After waiting for a bit I was informed my ticket was lost then ended up waiting about an hour total. It was 2pm with about 2 other tables occupied, luckily I wad alone so I didn't make it a big deal. I ordered a Coca Cola and was given a bottle only to find out by overhearing my waitress tell another table they ran out of Coca Cola but there were other options if they didn't want the bottle. Kind of bothered me I didn't get the same courtesy. Pizza was solid, if you like a sweet sauce and charred crust this is the spot for you. I just wouldn't drive out of my way for it and probably would come back unless I was with others who really wanted to try it. $21 after tax and tip for a small cheese and a bottled coke. If there is a next time I'd probably get the tomato pie without the mozzarella. Just made it soggy towards the half way mark.

This pizzeria it's great for a random date night within the week . We wanted to explore a bit more of what plantation had to offer and try new restaurants, and finding out this oven fire pizza was the best ! Pizza was fresh and delicious, wish they had more options like for appetizers like calamari or even garlic bread , but the only thing available was pizza and salad . The toppings are limited so makes it a bit hard for younger people with toppings . Pizza was good but limited toppings and they didn't have any appetizers options . Hopefully there's some updates to the menu !

Burnt bitter cinders. The oven wasn't scraped before putting these pies in. It was all over my pizzas.
    vita d.

I couldn't wait to get there and we ordered the three pie deal. Got the pizza, looked amazing until i tasted all the cinders under the pies. I love New Haven pizza. I couldn't wait to taste the charred crust. But no one scraped the oven and brushed it out before they put the pies in. All I did while at the table was pick it off and try to wipe it off with a napkin. The black cinders were all over my table, my hands and in my dish. Never encountered this here at all. Disappointed, was really looking forward to it.

    Andrea K.

My boyfriend dragged me in after insisting this is one of the best new pizza spots and it didn't disappoint! The pizzas are done very well - good amount of cheese and sauce, not too floppy and nice and charred. We opted for a classic cheese! We also tried the salad which was nice and refreshing. Prices are reasonable! The waiter was friendly and attentive and the service overall was quick! Great place for a quick lunch (there's a lunch special) or a dinner!

We would like to go on Saturday when it is busy. Does anyone know about what time that would be?

On Saturday usually there's a steady stream of people coming in the afternoon and evening. The wait shouldn't be bad even if it's busy, it's pizza and relatively quick.

The garlic rolls were insane... honestly some of the best I've ever had. We shared a house salad, and it was huge--definitely big enough to split. Everything tasted super fresh, and the balsamic dressing was perfectly drizzled and flavorful without being overpowering. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta. I'm pretty picky about marinara sauce (and I'm Italian, so I hold places to a higher standard), but everything was completely on point. The flavors, the sauce, the portion--just really well done. What made the experience even better was the owner coming over to talk to us. She shared details about the food and the restaurant, which made it feel really personal and welcoming. They also host special wine tastings at the end of the month with a curated menu, which I definitely want to come back for. We didn't try the pizza this time, but I already know I'll be back. They offer thin crust and even a deep dish that you can order ahead (about an hour in advance), which sounds amazing. It's a smaller place, but it's cozy, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent. I'll definitely be back--and next time I'm saving room for dessert (if I can stop myself from eating all the garlic rolls again).

Inside, every table has a view of the traditional wood-burning brick oven, along with multiple flat screens and music playing throughout the restaurant. One detail that stood out immediately was the visible service dog sign near the hostess stand. I was seated right away, and they even brought out a water bowl for my service dog without needing to ask. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and confirmed they provide a 20% discount for military members and first responders on select meals, which is always appreciated. I shared a large Mona Lisa pizza topped with fresh basil, prosciutto, and thick slices of tomato. The thin crust came out perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char from the brick oven. Service was friendly overall, although it appeared the server may have been covering too many tables. Drink refills were missed, and it took a little while to close out the check. Even with that, the food, atmosphere, military-friendly discount, and service dog accommodations make this a place worth visiting for either lunch or dinner.

It's fun, it's cute, the prices are fair, and the staff is consistently friendly and efficient -- which matters when you're on a lunch break clock. Reliable. Delicious. Zero drama. If you work nearby and aren't rotating this into your lunch lineup, you're doing it wrong.

We also love their Chopped House - so much good stuff in that one. Of course, the pizza is also delicious. Our kids can eat two to three slices each. Service is always friendly and typically fast. Next time I'll take pictures. We were too hungry last night. lol.

The centerpiece of the restaurant was the Marana steel dome, stone slab rotary pizza oven. It was very crowded inside and on the covered patio (dogs permitted) but was seated promptly at our reserved time. The server was professional but not overly chatty. She did not provide her name upon greeting nor did she have a visible name tag, so I cannot give her the personal kudos she deserves. The mystery server offered her opinion on a few popular appetizers from the expansive tranditional Italian menu. Ordered braised rib Arancini to share with the table and a pepperoni pizza with a nice char cornicione and a tangy sauce. The pizza was 6/10 and the balls were an admirable 9/10. The decor was commendable but seem to overpower the food and therefore missed it's mark on this visit as a 5 star behemoth. The gender assigned bathroom was clean but needed an immediate investment for a door locking mechanism. Black partition walls separated the amenities with two-tone pattern vinyl flooring.

The locale is nicely decorated and has a very cute mural in the outdoor seating area, service was fast and friendly, but the gluten free pesto dish we ordered completely missed the mark. The pasta made out of chickpeas was very very hard and cold, and the pesto sauce was nothing special. We told the waiter about it and he took it off the bill. On the positive side, the hot honey al prosciutto pizza was very tasty. They have a very large menu that includes most Italian classic dishes, so we might comeback one more time to try some of their other dishes.
