In fact, we had asked to sample them before deciding, but that wasn't possible because nothing was sitting around waiting to be served. Now that's fresh! Our waitress happened to be the owner's sister, which added to the charm of this family-owned establishment. My husband ordered the antipasto salad, and the ham was noticeably gray and tasted off. We sent it back because it didn't seem right and it ended up upsetting his stomach. To be fair, he had ordered the same salad on a previous visit and enjoyed it, so this may have simply been an off night. The bright spot was the manager, who handled the situation professionally. She apologized, offered to make my husband something else, even as a to-go order, and removed the salad from our bill when he declined. We appreciated her response and customer service. Unfortunately, one good interaction isn't enough to outweigh the overall experience. The drinks have never impressed us given the prices, and the food has consistently fallen short of expectations. We truly wanted this to become one of our regular neighborhood spots because of its convenient location, but we've decided it's just not a place we'll be returning to.
