I always sit at the bar and talk with the waitresses or waiters while I enjoy my drink, talking about our days, what's going on in life, then 10-15 mins later my food comes out! Always exactly what I order, never unsatisfied with food quality, and most importantly I feel welcome! Since I have gone so many times, once I'm recognized, we make jokes that I always order "the usual," an iced tea with a bbq bacon cheeseburger (and it's true, lol). Menus and water were served promptly and the food was brought to our table piping hot. Even the fries, the failure point for most restaurants were hit and crisp. The pizzas, described as Chicago Style, were a thin crust pie. (Somebody needs to visit Chicago-Town for a primer). But, both pies disappeared. A fajita bowl and burrito bowl both vanished. My Greek gyro was overstuffed with lamb and fillings. Absolutely fantastic. And the spicy chicken fingers also vanished. Zero leftovers on ole servings. The food was that good. And service was attentive and water was consistently refilled. Just one caveat, for larger groups, Nighthawk Tavern adds a gratuity to the check. They're very transparent, as the tip is clearly shown. I still added a few bucks to the total. If you're in Dahlonega. you'll be more than happy with Nighthawk Tavern. And you certainly won't leave hungry.

The small parking lot I think is plenty big, as this is a smaller Pizza Hut location. I do love these retro Pizza Hut Classic stores - as with the other I've visited near Lake Hartwell, this is an original building with the pagoda-like roof and trapezoidal windows. This one has the original booths, original salad bar and the nook near the payphone where a stand-up video game would stand (sadly missing) - even the bathrooms (or at least the Men's) have original tile. I grew up eating Pizza Hut as a kid - it was a special place back then, a destination for what we thought of as upscale dining. Of course over the years it lost much of it's charm and became buried in the myriad available dining experiences at other restaurants. I didn't know that I missed this chain until it almost disappeared, turning in to another Domino's, Papa John's or Little Caesar's. So happy that these Classic locations have been making a comeback. As with my other-location visit, I opted for a 14" pan pizza - just as delicious as I remembered. Service was really exceptional at this location with servers who seemed to like being there, they even had the classic red cups. Kudos - I'm stopping again the next time I'm in the area.

The house salad was made up of greens that were not clean, the lettuce was old where they were it was cut as you can see in the pictures and the dressing which was homemade vinaigrette was completely 100% oil. The garlic breadsticks which we were told were phenomenal were frozen or store-bought breadsticks that were heated up in the oven. You would think in a pizzeria restaurant that they would make their own breadsticks. Every pizzeria in the free world makes their own breadsticks fresh. The cheese and pepperoni pizza which they say is a crowd favorite came to the table and was nothing but a pool of grease. I am not being critical, I'm being real. The waitress (Hailey) was very nice, but it seemed like a whole lot of people standing around to me to not get things right. For 2 people spending $45 for lunch I would expect a little more attention to what the menu says and what you serve. If you say, baked on the menu, then bake the sub long enough to melt cheese.

The venue is pretty spectacular with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys along with the vineyards as the hang of the side of the mountain. There were two aspects that pushed my opinion down a bit, neither are really the fault of the venue or business so I've stayed with the 5-stars. The wedding was held in an outdoor pavilion with great views, but during the first week of August quite hot. There are ceiling fans but they didn't help too much - I was sweltering in my jacket and tie by the time the ceremony ended (just be aware if you book something here during the hot season). The second, there are a lot of stairs as you are on the side of a mountain. If you have a hard time traversing a lot of stairs, there are other means of getting around so once again be aware. The main "hall" has windows with fantastic views. I thought the food was exceptional and wish I had taken more photos, but there were a lot of poor lighting (I was seated next to the dance area). My apologies for the missing check in and the lack of photos but I didn't want to be obnoxious at a wedding. Overall I love the rustic charm of this place and plan to return and more fully explore the wine offerings. I thought the service was exceptional with very accommodating staff, especially the bartenders.

We watched several other parties arrive, dine, and leave while we were still waiting. The chicken piccata was not prepared correctly and tasted more like a sour Alfredo-style sauce. The steak was chewy and not cooked as ordered. Pros: We received a small complimentary cannoli for a birthday, which was appreciated. The ambiance was festive and nice for the holidays. Our food was served on styrofoam, the coffee drinks were a-okay (from a machine) and the jelly was served in packets (I'm not sure why but I really pictured sweet local jams or something that would tie back to the name and feel of the business). The bakery case offered croissants, cookies, etc. I didn't try any of those for myself so I can't speak to them. They offer a handful of small tables both inside and on the front patio overlooking the square.  The service was great - I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that here.

We enjoyed the cheese and charcuterie board and a separate order of the focaccia bread. I'm happy to report not a drop of wine nor morsel of food was left after our visit. Our server was informed and able to discuss each wine selection at length and offered insight and perspective about meal pairings for future meals. I'm not one to head to YELP for reviews, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I came here seeking out what I was sure was a one star review from a belligerent group that was in attendance when we were there yesterday. Sure enough "Ayelet N." and her group left a nasty review and I'd like to offer a rebuttal as a patron who was there before, during and after their "patronage." From the onset of their arrival they were rude, obnoxious and entitled. They demanded to be sat at a table that still required bussing, even with several other equally scenic options available. Even while bussing was occurring, they continued to criticize the staff about how long it took to occur and how thorough it was. The way they spoke to the staff was downright belittling and inappropriate. They wouldn't have noticed over their own loudspeaker phone calls and music playing off their personal phones, but other patrons were apologetic to the restaurant staff on their behalf; commiserating with what was sure to be a tough group to deal with. The group drank plenty during their time and definitely did receive food while in attendance, which flatly contradicts their review. What she failed to mention was that she fully tried to give the waiter, they're 3rd at this point, a cooking lesson about how their flat bread should be cooked before it arrived. I said to my wife at this point there's no way this group intends to pay for this service today. They'll likely escalate until something/everything is fully comped. We even took a side bet to see if they'd leave before the check arrived. As they maneuvered about the patio taking photos, miss Ayelet even commented how intoxicated she was and unlikely be able to drive out of there. Unfortunately, the meal ended before it could begin for them. She sent the food back, with I kid you not a 5 minute instruction about how to make a flat bread to the waiter. It was degrading and if a manager had been present at the moment I think it would have been entirely appropriate for them to ask the table to leave. The poor server was calm and patient and received several words of sympathy from other tables as she made her way back to the kitchen to remake the order. At this point, they demanded a manager to begin their tirade and then promptly left after he calmly apologized for their dissatisfaction. I'd estimate they walked out having consumed $300+ The highlight was that the surrounding tables literally applauded as they left the patio. Their behavior was disruptive to the entire atmosphere and all the tables discussed it immediately upon their departure. I've never been at a restaurant where 20+ patrons are discussing how outrageous a group was after their departure. Her claims that they were treated unfairly or unprofessionally are wildly inaccurate. They acted as if they were the only patrons at the winery and interacted with every server who was navigating the patio service. The staff did their best to serve them fairly and even provided extra attention and servers to accommodate their behavior. If anything, my wife and I will return because we enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere, but more importantly we watched the staff navigate a difficult situation with grace and humility.
