We parked in the freebie garage just a mere walk away. The place was packed, inside and outside. We expected a 30 minute wait. Heck, it was only 17.587 minutes, or so. LOL Seated as a party of 3 at Table 5, we drew Bri as our Atlas lass. Very good liftoff to a stellar flight. She rocks! in a Cosmic Rodeo kind of way! WE had NO idea what was about to land in front of us, when Bri slid that Extra Large Supreme Pizza in for a landing. 5 Stars and an entire Constellation rating for this heavenly pie. Holy moly guaranteed was/is THE BEST pizza to ever hit our lips! The crust is a magically soft yet explosive flavor dough. Oh yeah! The sauce hit notes even Minnie Ripperton couldn't hit! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE We have been Atlas Pizza fans for years. However, we went last night, the first time since October, and the food has gone downhill! They changed their pizza crust to a factory-made yuck crust. Gone is their puffy and delicious crust, and not too thin, not too thick dough. My fav girl Erika quit due to management & will miss her forever but the pizza is just so good not to continue coming. After a recommendation from the guy at the record store, I stopped by Atlas Pizza for lunch. I was quickly sat even though it was busy. Service was quick, attentive and the server was happy to offer her recommendations. Since I was dining solo, I picked the small 8 inch pizza with a coke. After roughly 12-15 mins, my order was at my table and it was piping hot! Pizza was delicious but a little oily. Overall, it was great for the price and incredibly filling! Don't overestimate how much an 8 inch can fill you up. I would recommend Atlas for anyone passing by looking for a yummy deal they won't be disappointed with. read more

Came to visit Gainesville for the first time ever to see a friend, and was promised the full G-ville experience. Apparently that meant dinner at Atlas, which was meant as a bit of a carb filled pick-me-up before our night out. In terms of the pizza and general vibes, it didn't disappoint. What did disappoint was the speed of service, which was kind of abysmal. It took our server 10 minutes to see us after we sat down, another 10 minutes to bring out our drinks and take our food order, and then another 20 minutes before the food came out. The kicker? It wasn't busy at all. The good news was she was nice the times she did come see us, and comped our drinks as an apology for being slow as a slug the whole night. I have been hearing about this pizza from a fellow New Yorker who swears this is the best pizza in Georgia .. so the day finally came for me to try.. the anticipation was sooo enticing because every single patron of the restaurant saw my excitement to try and further talked up the hype.. the kind and sweet Savannah suggested the chicken Alfredo pizza and garlic bread sticks... it surely did not disappoint and what they say is true folks.. its truly excellent!! Two of the times I called option 2 someone answered answered with DAMN and hung up. Get with the 21st century and school your employees on customer service. read more

I remember when I first came over to Gainesville years ago how happy I was there was great pizza available. I mostly ate in at Atlas and it was a nice experience being in the square. I would pick up pizza there, but they often did not pick up the phone and I got tired of trying. 5-6 years later, we hadn't ordered a pizza from Atlas in a while and decided to call for a pick up order. Sadly, nothing had changed. 3-4 attempts, no one picking up, and a full voicemail box. Order online maybe? Nope, still the same crappy one page website that they've always had. Who owns this place? They clearly don't give a crap and are pretty lazy. Maybe don't offer take out if you don't want to pay for proper staffing. Last time I checked, it is still under a dollar to make a pizza. Your prices on the other hand continually go up. You should have enough revenue coming in to run a proper operation. I may still go occasionally if I'm in the square, but they have pretty much lost me. Vendetti's is just as good as well as cheaper with way better customer service. read more

Man this pizza is so good. I've been a couple times. The first time I got a garden salad with ranch, and an 8" pizza. The salad is massive and delicious as is the ranch dressing. The 8" pizza we had a miscommunication and I ordered extra cheese Kalamata olives and some sort of meat (it's been a while). Somehow I ended up with a pizza that was just extra cheese and Kalamata olives, and I was so happy with the pizza that I wasn't even sad my meat got left off. I'm a crazy carnivore too. Went back recently got the salad with ranch again, still amazing and huge. 8" pizza with Italian sausage, Kalamata olives, extra cheese and bacon. Was even better than the first time. Great pizza! The pizza and cheese bread were great! I got the pesto chicken and he got the all meat. The small pizzas were perfect for us paired with the huge cheese bread (pizza ). The cheese bread came with marinara and a delicious garlic butter. I have to point out that the marinara came out hot and delicious. Most places give you cold marinara for dipping and I personally do not like that. So extra points for Atlas. The service was good... a little slow but they were busy. The only thing I'd say is that I think the staff should have some sort of uniform. A tshirt or name badge that shows they work there. We didn't know who was a customer or staff. Let me start this by saying. I Love Atlas Pizza. But tonight I was not 100% happy. I was seated and the place was about 75% full. I got my menu and then sat for the next 15 minutes as the place slowly emptied. I saw a larger party enter after me and were approached by a server immediately. Finally I got a young lady's attention and I asked if I was being ignored. She said have you been waited on yet. I said no, I'd been sitting there about 15 minutes. She then said she wasn't a server but would take my order and then said she would expedite (my words, not hers) she put the order in and a short time later I got my pizza. The pizza was fantastic. Showed up at 5:15 pm, the restaurant was not busy. We had a two and three year old in the party so we ordered cheese sticks right away with sodas and water. After placing our orders and then about 40 ish minutes the waitress approached the table and said "I totally missed over your order but we're starting it now." Really fun pizza bar atmosphere. We got the shepherds pizza and it was so yummy. Crust is just right, not too thin or thick. It had a crunch but still soft inside. The sautéed onions elevate the pizza to its deliciousness. They split the whole Greek salad for us and it was a lot of salad. For alcohol, they only serve cans/bottles of beer and glasses of wine. They had some hard ciders etc. We hope to get back to this yummy pizza place to try more pizza choices. We were seated right away and everyone was friendly. Stopped here on the way out of Gainesville for some quick lunch. Eclectic local art and old wooden floors make this a great place to chill. They have several varieties of specialty pizzas and you can create your own . Tried the Nuts About Thai from the Incredible Specialty Pizzas list. The sauce was a slightly spicy peanut sauce with chicken, broccoli, and spinach. The best thing about this pizza was the crust! Everyone at the table had different pizzas but the common comment was that the crust is delicious at this place. I visited again today with a friend on the way to a wedding and while playing Pokemon Go Community day and everything was excellent as always! Our server was awesome and the pizza was sooooo good! Outside seating was very enjoyable today being we had our dog Finn. The waitress offered a doggie bowl of water for him and other dogs. Little disappointed you could not order from the full menu, short staff in the kitchen. Could not order subs or quesadilla's. Our waitress, Bella was wonderful and very thoughtful to offer a water bowl for our dog. We ordered the medium Meat Pizza with light tomato sauce. Was a little confusing ordering a pizza to go out doors and not being able to wait for your take away at any of the tables. I was very sternly told "because they were only reserved for dining in customers" it was a very busy night, and there were no benches to be found within the immediate area... Which forced me to walk to the The Square in the dark to try and find a spot to sit and wait for my pizza! After waiting for the allotted time, I returned to the outside front of the restaurant to be then ignored multiple times by wait staff going in and out only helping the seated dining in patrons both inside and outside... while my pizza sat in what I can only guess was the hotbox which kept the pizza room temp at best. My double meat pizza was greasy but the crust was tasty which is why I may give it another chance but it unfortunately makes this a one meat topping restaurant only for my pizza needs unless you have a spare roll of paper towels to soak all the grease up. read more

My absolute favorite place in Gainesville! If you aren't getting the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza, you're doing it wrong! This has to be my favorite pizza of ALL TIME. Pro tip: get a side of garlic butter for the crust. Nope, not healthy at all :) The inside of the restaurant can get a little loud and cramped, so I prefer to sit outside. However, this does not change how delicious the pizza is. Make sure you grab a reservation online because it can get very busy. Sometimes it is also hard to get ahold of someone on the phone, but you can always order at the entrance of the restaurant. I always choose to go shop around or grab a glass of wine at Cork It to pass the time. I'll be back... I visit almost every time I come home! read more

It is a fairly busy spot in the downtown area of Gainesville. While there are a few parking spots on the street, I park in the free garage behind the place a block or so. As I approached the place, there are a couple of tables on the sidewalk and a very confusing amount of information handwritten on white paper in marker near and around the door. I finally figured out that there was a take out station in the right of the door and a host stand to the left of the door. I waited just a couple of minutes for a table. It is a narrow dining room with tables tightly placed together. The menu has seen better days and a sharpie marker had crossed out some items. I ordered inside spinach salad that had piles and piles of onions, pecans, bacon, and bleu cheese crumbles and a few lettuce leaves. The pear slices that appeared were canned- like the ones you use to get on your school lunch tray back in the day. My calzone was good... large in size- I only ate a quarter of it. I have had worse and I have had better. The place was packed and the longer I sat at my table, the longer I noticed just how unclean and how much the place was in need of a very good scrubbing. I've now lived in Gainesville for 2.5 years and for 2.5 years I kept saying "I need to try Atlas Pizza....". @thebestatlaspizza is in the downtown square where parking used to be rough but with the new decks, parking is now much easier. My friends at @northmetroeateries said "best....pizza.... in the north!!!". WOW, expectations are high so I had to hurry up and try them! Well, I can now confidently say that Atlas Pizza IS the best pizza other than Antico who is still my #1. The crust, the sauce, the menu and different options you have... AMAZING. Pictured here (in order) is their POTATO pizza (you heard me), BUFFALO CHICKEN (my favorite), THAI PIZZA (My wife's favorite), and their bread sticks which I'm warning you... along with their sauce and butter sauce, you'll be in trouble by the time the pizza makes it out so make sure that you share!!! Atlas Pizza can get quite busy but you can call and set reservations when needed. I stopped by on a random weekday for lunch and there was no need for a reservation. They have an awesome staff, very friendly. I've seen some people arguing over people "not knowing their pizza" if they claim ATLAS is the best around....
