Cheap, hearty biscuit sandwiches…read more My husband's family lives in Charleston so we made the pilgrimage to see them. Since the only direct flight from Tampa to Charleston is through Huntington on Allegiant, we ended up taking a 6:40 a.m. flight and then driving an hour. Needless to say, by the time we got to Charleston, I was starving. My husband suggested we stop at Tudors. It is certainly popular in West Virginia. I swear I saw like four different Tudors as we drove. Now, I want one in Tampa. They have a variety of biscuit sandwiches, like every single combination (randomly no just egg and cheese, but my grandmother-in-law informed me that I can definitely order it any way I want). I decided to go with the Dottie which was egg, cheese, and a hash brown. It was a little over $3. That's insane. The amount that you get is definitely worth more than $3 (although I did notice that everything was a little cheaper in WV). I did not go hungry. I didn't get to eat the sandwich right away so it was a little cool by the time I tried it. I think it would have been better hot. It was pretty good, but I would suggest eating it there instead of getting take out. I will definitely make a stop at Tudors next time I'm in Charleston.

So, it was time to improvise and eat wherever we could on the fly. I pulled off the highway where I saw a lit McDonald's sign, and pulled into the drive-thru. After ordering, paying for, and receiving a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and two large French Fries at 11:55 p.m., I headed for a parking spot in the vast parking lot, and turned off the ignition. We then prepared to eat in our laps when at midnight exactly all outside lights switched off at the restaurant--including the Golden Arches, as the car after ours received its occupants' order and drove out of the drive-thru lane.
