Why 3 stars? Because everything was just... fine. --- --- --- A friend recently told me about this place, and I could not believe I had never stumbled across it on Yelp. A 4.7 rating, Italian food, and in my neck of the woods. Somehow it just wasn't popping into my search algorithm, which was not awesome, because I definitely would have visited long ago if I had known about it. It only took me about a week to stop in after it was put on my radar. I'm so sad to say that it really just missed the mark for me. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. It was the true definition of a 3-star experience. We started off with some bread. It was... fine. We ordered some prosciutto and mozzarella for an appetizer. Again: fine. I liked the prosciutto, but the mozz was had an oddly firm texture. I ordered Frutti di Mare as my entree and this was the biggest disappointment for me. There was nothing special about it. It's what I would expect from an Olive Garden, or Name Your Generic Massive Chain. My wife ordered carbonara. I definitely enjoyed hers much more than mine, but it was also just okay. We both agreed that the fettuccine alfredo we ordered for our son might have been the most appealing dish on the table. I actually liked the house salad, but my wife was not a fan of the dressing. For dessert, we ordered limoncello. It was, you guessed it, fine. I hate to be so negative about a small business, but it would be disingenuous to hype up an experience that did not live up to expectations from start to finish. Our server was nice and attentive, but the food was a miss across the board.

    Braciole

We had the mussels for appetizers which is in a yummy, cream sauce. The buttered rolls were our 4 year old's favorite. Husband had the braciole and I had the fish of the day. Delicious! They weren't very busy for a Saturday night.

    Pollo Saltinbocca with cockroach

Food was great until I found a cockroach in my leftovers. Extremely disgusted knowing I already consumed half the plate before realizing there were roaches in it.

    Chicken parmigiana

Excellent Italian food, great service and atmosphere (piano playing christmas tunes during our visit). Reasonable or would say low prices for quality food.Tried chicken plates, pasta with sausage, and calamari appetizer, all great choices.

Spaghetti was very dry - not close to enough sauce. Meatballs were overcooked and pretty dried out. Garlic bread was bland.

I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo with blackened shrimp and added blackened chicken, and it was amazing. Everything tasted fresh, the Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy, and the blackened seasoning gave it the perfect kick. My best friend ordered the Pasta Sampler, which comes with lasagna, manicotti, and cheese ravioli topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Every bite was flavorful, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. Of course, we had to try the Bellini, and it did not disappoint! It was refreshing, delicious, and paired perfectly with our meal. If you're looking for fresh Italian food with generous portions and delicious drinks, Adriatic Café Italian Grill is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back!

However, when the dish came out, it had very little sauce on the pasta. The server was extremely polite and explained that he asked for mine to have extra sauce and agreed that didn't look like what I'd ordered. He said he could add extra sauce, but it would be an additional three dollars, I declined the extra cost and ate half my meal. I've ordered this previously and the pasta was completely hidden in their delicious sauce. Their food has always been good, but this visit was definitely disappointing.

The ambiance is beautiful like a traditional Italian restaurant. White table cloth linen, napkins, and pesto with the warm bread. I could've lived off the warm bread and yummy pesto alone lol. I will say the house salad isn't bad but I'm not a fan so next time I'll try the Caesar salad. I do love the Chicken Marsala. I love that she asked what kind of pasta I wanted with it and brought the bowl of fresh Parmesan cheese to season my meal. You don't get that often. I will say two more families showed up while I was there and one family are regulars and praised the food there. Glendy was wonderful bringing me my peach tea refill and checking to see if I was good and asked several times how my food was. We discussed how much we love the bread and Chicken Marsala. I will definitely come back to try some more meals.

The cod fish was fresh, lightly breaded and done just right - chunky with a nice level of flakiness. In the case of these fish tacos, I'd let the pictures do the talking. The avocado tacos were made fresh. Black beans and pickled vegetables went well with this star of a dish. The hummus - jalapeno and crabcakes were mediocre. Roberto and the waitress gave excellent service. Water for refill was provided in a milk bottle which was great. Afterall, we are in this hot heat of summer. Requested seating in a booth and got seated at a booth by the windows. Leg space felt better at the booths by the windows than those by the bar. Roberto recommended other dishes I may like to try next time - cauliflower crusted pizza, local kebab, burgers etc. Glad to have discovered this restaurant that was hidden in the woods.
