    Turkey & Bre #9

Panino is one of my favorite sandwich spots I've been coming to for years! I always get the #9 on focaccia & the flavors mix so well together. The service is quick, yet friendly & there is seating indoors as well as outdoors at the downtown location. It's always super clean & well-kept inside, I highly recommend!

Best foccacia sandwich I've ever had! It's fresh and soft and delicious in every way. They have a sandwich for everyone. You can enjoy it outside and enjoy the vibes of Los Olivos. I kept seeing everyone order more than one sandwich. I chose the pesto chicken and it was perfectly balanced. This is a great spot to enjoy lunch before or during wine tasting.

Panino is always a solid choice. The deli sandwiches are delicious--fresh, flavorful, and generously made. The service is great too: friendly, quick, and consistent. Definitely a go-to spot when you're craving a good sandwich.

Best sandwiches in town! I love stopping in for their lunch special it's super filling and the staff is always nice no matter which location I go to!

flavors are good, but not enough turkey

first off --- I love the flavors here!! bread is awesome and the honey mustard sauce is to die for. but lately am very underwhelmed at the amount of turkey meat you get for a $20 sandwich. I tried this place a week ago and had to ask for extra turkey, which she happily gave me free of charge-- so nice! I thought it was just a fluke, so I tried again today and again was disappointed. Might start making my sandwiches at home.

I wish I could leave 1/2 stars. I would give a 4.5. Person at the counter was really nice. Let my super picky daughter know she could make her own sandwich rather than subtracting everything from a sandwich on the menu lol I wasn't sure what to expect. Ham and cheese? Sounds pretty basic. This sandwich was not basic. Ham, yes. Swiss yes. Focaccia yum. I guess I was expecting mayo and mustard? But honey? I was not expecting that. And it was so good. Soooo pleasantly surprised. The plates were cute too. The chairs were a little uncomfy, but that's a me thing. Only thing for me, is I would prefer a non-kettle chip. They tear up my mouth lol Edit: 2 weeks later, and I'm still thinking about this sandwich.

Come here! The workers were so nice & helpful with giving recommendations- although i dont think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The ingredients were so fresh. We got the chicken pesto on baguette, the curry chicken salad & the turkey and salami in focaccia. Took it to the beach & that was the perfect combo. My regret is not knowing about this place sooner. I will be back :)

Located a hop and skip away from the presido this sandwich shop has something from everyone. Get your sandwich or salad or soup and people watch. The ingredients and products used to make the sandwich are delicious and fresh. No stale bread. You have different bread options. The chicken sandwich with sundried tomatoes pretty filling. The service was friendly and prompt. We had just sat down and the sandwich followed. They have bottled drinks from small businesses. They have mostly outdoor seating and some indoor sitting.

Panino is my favorite sandwich in Santa Barbara. #9 Turkey and Brie on focaccia is the best! I'm normally a sourdough gal, but trust me, get the focaccia. The honey mustard on their sandwiches is so good too. I also enjoy their salads - chicken salad is good!

Great spot for fresh sandwiches and salads. Great customer service Must try when in the area. Perfect place to pick up sandwiches to go on your way to the beach. You can always order ahead, pick up and go. Or stay and enjoy your food on their outdoor patio area.

You order at the counter and the food is brought over to your table. The service was friendly, though it could have been better--we had to get our own water, cutlery, and napkins and nobody came to check on us throughout the meal. Maybe that was because we came right at opening on the weekend. Food-wise, some dishes were better than others. The smoked brisket banh mi was disappointing, mainly because the brisket was chewy. The burrata-tomato salad with added chicken breast was good and felt fresh and satisfying. The chicken salad sandwich was okay, but the bread was too hard, which made it less enjoyable. On the positive side, my son really enjoyed the kids' grilled cheese sandwich with fries. Overall, The Daisy has a lovely atmosphere, and a great dog-friendly patio, but the food was a bit hit-or-miss during our visit.

It feels expensive upfront but with portion sizes, it's a great deal. For a lighter meal, just share a sandwich and soup with a friend, a lover, whoever! The house lemonade and tea are delicious, with the lemonade being perfectly sweet and tart. Soup of the Day was French Onion, which is on the sweeter side, and comes with cheese and a crostini soaking up the broth. Onions are very nicely caramelized. It was tasty but the portion of this soup was a bit large for the intensity of the soup sweetness, almost like syrup after eating it enough. Any other soup - I'd be fine with the portion size. Partner's review of the BLT: "Plenty of bacon and toasted very nice on sourdough, the sourdough with the soup was balanced. I can tell they added a little bit of butter on the sourdough for the extra crunch. Vegetables - they're vegetables, FRESH though." I had The Griller, hot with provolone on a bolillo roll. I walked in and spoke with the guy working the bar area. I wasn't sure if I had to order my drink there or if there was table service. He said he could take my order and then I could go find a table to sit at. I placed my order for a Spritz and found a table outside. It seemed like 15 minutes had passed by and still no drink. He tended to another table in front of me with a group of women he knew. I thought he would stop by my table after, but he didn't even acknowledge me. Finally, another staff member tended to me and I told her I had placed my order at the bar and was still waiting for it. She was very kind and quickly got it for me. My observation of this guy, was that he acknowledged everyone around me but for some reason never acknowledged me until my bill was ready. Such a bizarre experience! In any case, I still managed to enjoy myself and was glad the Eva waited on me. She was very kind and I appreciate her getting my drink and food in a timely manner. I ordered the Spanish cheese plate, which was the perfect snacking board. It comes with manchego, membrillo, corn nuts, cornichon, quince, strawberries, focaccia, and charcoal sourdough bread. This plate is great for two people. Overall, a not so great experience, but grateful that Eva came to the rescue! It left me unsure of whether I would come back, only time will tell.

I'm still new to the wine world, so her openness and guidance meant a lot. I sampled two wines and chose the one that was perfect for me. I also loved that they bring the bottle to your table to show you and tell you more about it. My partner had one of their vermouth cocktails and loved it. We even learned about a natural wine event happening next month that we might come back for. The host also recommended wineries in the area based on our preferences -- such a thoughtful touch. Would definitely come back anytime we're in SB.

Note that this is a review specifically for a private event (wedding lunch reception)…read more My wife and I recently got married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and were looking for a restaurant to host a lunch reception and State & Fig absolutely delivered. A 5/5 experience and we would certainly work with them again. We were in contact with Serina for about a year before the wedding and she was very accommodating, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. We initially met with her to discuss our vision, had a food and cake tasting, and also a final walk through with our coordinator to ensure everything was smooth. In terms of food, atmosphere, and service, I would want to go through all three in detail: 1) Food: We had a lunch style buffet and the food options were fresh and many of our guests gave very positive feedback and took shameless second trips. Serina and the owner (Patrick) were able to source many of the ingredients seasonally and cater to our guests' palate (Asian-inspired, etc.). We had a tasting and they took our feedback into consideration in earnest. Moreover, our strawberry cake was AMAZING. 2) Atmosphere: The restaurant had a great layout for our party size (~90 or so) with seating inside, outside, and upstairs. This arrangement allowed us to have an intimate reception despite having a lot of guests. The decor in the restaurant is minimal, which allows customization to make the space truly our own. State & Fig allowed us to borrow a few decorations, which was generous. 3) Service: The two points before were already excellent, but State & Fig's outstanding service took the lunch reception to another level. Serina was a joy to work with in terms of bringing our vision to life and was always there to make things easy for us. Patrick ensured that this was a special day for us, and encouraged us to soak it in and enjoy it as much as we can. And the wait staff and servers on the day of were professional and attentive. For that, we are immensely grateful. There were other restaurants that we toured before selecting S&F, and it was clear that hosting the reception would simply be a transactional business affair. This felt like a genuine desire to make our special day a memorable experience. Overall, a 5/5 experience and we hope that others will be able to have State & Fig host their special day. P.S. A funny aside: we met a couple sitting next to us during our tasting, who were returning to celebrate their anniversary after getting married at S&F. They told us we were in good hands and not to worry, and we AGREE.

First, Finch & Fork is essentially just the restaurant inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel. What I mean is that it's not a restaurant that happens to be inside of hotel property (think Caruso's). It's just where you eat as a hotel guest that is hungry for brunch. We had an 11:00 AM reservation, which I believe was the earliest brunch seating. The hotel lobby was packed and chaotic when we arrived. We checked in and sat down to wait, but while we were waiting, multiple other parties of two who checked in after us were seated first. Not a huge issue on its own, but not a great start. The Mother's Day brunch itself consisted of a buffet plus an entrée selection. The buffet had three main sections: seafood (oysters, shrimp, tuna poke), salads, and miscellaneous bites and desserts like deviled eggs, Italian wedding soup, and macarons. Honestly, the buffet felt more like cocktail hour appetizers at a wedding than a true luxury brunch spread. The entrées were fine. The service was fine. Nothing was bad, but nothing felt memorable or special either. The atmosphere was also extremely loud...noticeably so. What really dropped the rating for me was the value. For two people with no alcohol (just iced tea), the total came out to $264.60. That price was honestly shocking for what was offered. Nothing about the food, service, or atmosphere justified that kind of cost. As we were leaving, we noticed a Photo Booth setup and a bouquet-making station across the lobby. No one had mentioned either of these to us, and the bouquet station appeared unattended, so we weren't even sure whether it was included or an extra charge. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially because this was meant to be a special Mother's Day outing for my mom. If you're just looking for a casual hotel brunch/lunch/dinner, it's perfectly fine. But for a holiday brunch at this price point, I expected something much more polished, elevated, and memorable.
