I ordered the half&half. Sandwich was chicken with pesto, sun-dried tomato, turkey on focaccia. Salad was a greek salad. It tasted good and fresh. With a small $1 tip (you order at the counter) it came out to $15.91. Even if I were a billionaire I don't think I'd be okay with that. It's flat out not worth it -- though I did like the food. Unless the prices drop, I won't be back. Edit: I also was the only person in the shop. I looked at the menu, then sat down. It took the two service folks about 8-10 minutes to acknowledge my presence. As someone who works in customer service, this seemed like poor form. read more

Good vegetarian options, friendly staff, good flavors, and the sandwiches came out quickly! They have several nice outdoor tables with umbrellas for shade. My one wish is that they toasted the bread to make it nice and warm and crispy, but other than that the ingredients tasted fresh and the sandwiches were still tasty even untoasted! read more

Perfect spot for lunch with incredible deli sandwiches! We're from out of town and a friend recommended we give this place a try. We came here right before venturing across the street to taste some wine and had a hard time choosing what to order as they had a good size menu with a ton of really tasty sandwich and salad options. They also had a large selection of vegetarian sandwiches. We ended up ordering the #12 Roast Chicken w/ Pesto, Pine Nuts, Feta Cheese & Sun-Dried Tomatos and the #14 Roast Chicken w/ Prosciutto. Both sandwiches were absolutely phenomenal and had incredible flavor! This location also had a bunch of tables set up outside so it was enjoyable to dine outside and enjoy the nice weather. I had the Genoa Salami, Kalamata olive tapenade, with roasted red peppers and goat cheese. I ended up going with this sandwich mainly because I am lactose sensitive and found out that goat cheese is supposed to have less lactose making it easier for the stomach to digest. The goat cheese had a nice smooth and creamy flavor and when combined with the olive tapenade really made a burst of flavor in my mouth. I also had the sandwich on Foccaica bread but they also have three other choices of bread to choose from. Overall the sandwich was delicious. I love the simple clean look of the store and it had some inside seating as well as gated outdoor seating. All the staff members seemed very nice and helpful. The one problem I had with Panino is the price. Although I love the sandwich, I do not believe it is worth $12. When I originally looked up the menu on Yelp I was looking at the pictures that were paired by other reviewers and I saw that they were about $10. $10 still expensive but a little more understandable and worth what you're getting. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews very often, but my experience at panino today was brutal enough to do so. The girl running the cash register was extremely rude and rushed us through our order. She was talking extremely fast with an awful tone and wouldn't let us get a word in. The side Greek salad I got had no dressing on it and looked like thrown together sandwich ingredients. When we went to ask for salad dressing we were met with a bad attitude again. Not worth the price for the awful service. read more

Keep hoping for the best with this DT location but today is the last time I eat here! I could be considered a regular - it's fresh food and close by my work which keeps me coming back. They have made my order incorrectly over 10 times (very simple- the chicken salad, salad with a side of avo and extra bread and dressing). I now check every time just to save me going back. Everything was good at a glance however when starting to eat I found old peperoncinos and sundried tomatoes within the salad and the balsamic dressing was spicy. All around not great including the brown avocado. The service is lackluster at best- they have been extremely rude- my order name was once 'IDGAF'. The boxes open up so spill everywhere if you're not careful. Shame for what could be a great place! I have experienced only good things at the Montecito location- what's happening here? The freshest sandwiches I've ever had. The #1 on focaccia with no onions is my go to. You can taste the high quality and care that goes into the sandwiches here. Great location, huge portions, nice service, and good variety for a sandwich/salad place overall. Seating is pretty scarce inside but if it's a nice day out, sitting outside is great. It's right across from Handlebar so you can even grab a cup of coffee afterwards. A really solid lunch spot - the Panino Cobb hit the spot. Prosciutto and Gorgonzola? What a great twist on a Cobb! I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area! read more

We chose Panino's to cater our group lunch for Day 2 of our department's trip. We catered a Food Truck for Day 1 so a sandwich and salad for Day 2 shouldn't be too bad, right? I'd hate to have sandwiches for both days. Panino's dropped off the boxed lunches to our hotel so we could pack it on our bus. They also wrote everyone's names on the boxes (nice!!). After hiking, my friend and I were starving and I was craving a good sandwich. We looked online and found 3 pickles which sounded promising, but it was closed on the weekends. We spotted Panino with the patio and decided it would work. I had the curried chicken salad sandwich on foccacia, it's chicken, apples, cranberries, pine nuts, fresh greens and lots of honey mustard. The bread was super soft and chewy. My friend and I also had a some salt and pepper kettle chips. Take yourself out to lunch at Panino in Santa Barbara. With a wide variety of delicious sandwiches and fresh salads, there is something for everyone on the menu. I had the chicken, sun dried tomato and basil sandwich, my friend had a curry salad. Plenty of sunny outdoor seating and excellent service round out this classy corner near the Santa Barbara Presidio, two blocks from State Street. Enjoy! read more

Extremely disappointed. My mom, brother, and I ordered three sandwiches to go, which somehow took them 45 minutes to prepare, but the real problem was that once we got home, we discovered none of the sandwiches were right: one was just the completely wrong order (which is baffling because we triple confirmed it with the person at the counter), another sandwich was straight-up missing cheese (a cheese sandwich with no cheese!), and another sandwich that was just plain inedible--crumbly and flavorless with artichokes and tuna straight from the can, and not a drop of sauce. We had to make an entirely new lunch after we got home. Bummer! read more

Fast and Fresh are the two best words I can think of that describe this place. The food is consistent and ingredients are always fresh. Sandwiches and salads are nice and light for a lunch option. The ingredients are a bit basic for the price. Parking is difficult, luckily my work is a short walk away. Outdoor seating is very nice and pleasant with umbrellas to block the hot afternoon sun. The line can get a bit long because they only have one cashier. I guess a long line is a sign that this place tastes really good. I would suggest supplying your own drinks/chips if you can. The prices for the sides skyrocket. I would recommend this place for a light lunch. If eating for here, get water. read more

A lot of sandwich options from simple to gourmet which I find satisfying. I got the roast turkey sandwich and was happy that the meat was so high quality as well as the fresh parts. The atmosphere is very calming and I love the outdoor patio. Their staff is really friendly and welcoming!! I have loved every Panino I've been to. I typically go to the Solvang or Goleta locations but it was my first time at this particular location. We stopped here on our way up to SLO for a graduation. My grandmother-in-law would not stop raving about how excellent the food was & my husband & I enjoyed our food very much as well. Good food. Fast service. Nice sitting area inside and outside. The sandwiches are delicious! Flavors are inspired combos, with great spreads, roasted peppers, Brie, and the like, with more flair than your traditional deli. Bread is fresh and focaccia is soft. Got the number 9 sandwich (turkey and brie) and this was to DIE for. I'm a huge fan of brie cheese, and just the overall combination of all the veggies and the condiments were incredible. They didn't skimp on the brie either which I was really impressed by. Had a few bits of the chicken pesto, and that was also delicious. Nothing beat the turkey and brie though. Will definitely be back! I want to try the other combinations because they all looked amazing read more

This arrangement allowed us to have an intimate reception despite having a lot of guests. The decor in the restaurant is minimal, which allows customization to make the space truly our own. State & Fig allowed us to borrow a few decorations, which was generous. 3) Service: The two points before were already excellent, but State & Fig's outstanding service took the lunch reception to another level. Serina was a joy to work with in terms of bringing our vision to life and was always there to make things easy for us. Patrick ensured that this was a special day for us, and encouraged us to soak it in and enjoy it as much as we can. And the wait staff and servers on the day of were professional and attentive. For that, we are immensely grateful. There were other restaurants that we toured before selecting S&F, and it was clear that hosting the reception would simply be a transactional business affair. This felt like a genuine desire to make our special day a memorable experience. Overall, a 5/5 experience and we hope that others will be able to have State & Fig host their special day. P.S. A funny aside: we met a couple sitting next to us during our tasting, who were returning to celebrate their anniversary after getting married at S&F. First, Finch & Fork is essentially just the restaurant inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel. What I mean is that it's not a restaurant that happens to be inside of hotel property (think Caruso's). It's just where you eat as a hotel guest that is hungry for brunch. We had an 11:00 AM reservation, which I believe was the earliest brunch seating. The hotel lobby was packed and chaotic when we arrived. We checked in and sat down to wait, but while we were waiting, multiple other parties of two who checked in after us were seated first. Not a huge issue on its own, but not a great start. The Mother's Day brunch itself consisted of a buffet plus an entrée selection. The buffet had three main sections: seafood (oysters, shrimp, tuna poke), salads, and miscellaneous bites and desserts like deviled eggs, Italian wedding soup, and macarons. Honestly, the buffet felt more like cocktail hour appetizers at a wedding than a true luxury brunch spread. The entrées were fine. The service was fine. Nothing was bad, but nothing felt memorable or special either. The atmosphere was also extremely loud...noticeably so. What really dropped the rating for me was the value. For two people with no alcohol (just iced tea), the total came out to $264.60. That price was honestly shocking for what was offered. Nothing about the food, service, or atmosphere justified that kind of cost. As we were leaving, we noticed a Photo Booth setup and a bouquet-making station across the lobby. No one had mentioned either of these to us, and the bouquet station appeared unattended, so we weren't even sure whether it was included or an extra charge. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially because this was meant to be a special Mother's Day outing for my mom. If you're just looking for a casual hotel brunch/lunch/dinner, it's perfectly fine. But for a holiday brunch at this price point, I expected something much more polished, elevated, and memorable.
