So typically I really enjoy the food at Panera bread. However at this location things seem to be done half assed. I ordered two of the roasted turkey flatbreads and boy did I get "flatbread". There was 2 tiny pieces of turkey and barely any spinach or anything else. It was the worst flatbread/sandwich I've eaten. To charge an arm and a leg for this is unacceptable and I will never buy food at this place again. I'm going to post a picture so you can see for yourself. Avoid this spot though if you want to eat anything besides plain bread. read more

This Panera location seems to be a mess. On countless occasions here I've experienced the staff constantly messing up my orders and dirty surroundings. I decided not to eat here anymore after I ONCE AGAIN had my order messed up not only one but twice in one transaction. Then after I finally ate, I saw that they had charged me multiple times for my one meal. So I called and was rudely told they couldn't do anything for me call the bank. Instead I went back the next day and asked a manager to refund me. I eventually got my money back with not much help read more

I think this is the only chain in waterbury that didn't turn into complete crap. The food's good. Service is quick. Only complaint is it gets really crowded at lunch. So crowded that sometimes you can't find a place to sit because there's people not eating and sitting on their laptops. read more

I would give this zero stars if this app would let me. I left about 30 minutes ago with a "rapid pickup order" and not only were a few crucial items missing (my mother's dinner), but two items were incorrect, and the "grilled cheese" was actually just a slightly warmed cheese sandwich. Then, when I attempted to call the restaurant to discuss this mishap, I was promptly hung up on, before I could speak to anyone. Do not waste your money or time here. read more

I use this Panera location very often for catering breakfast and lunch meetings and have never had any problems. The food is always fresh and my orders are ALWAYS accurate, which is a very big deal for me. I have a good relationship with the catering team. We've always loved panera, and today we tried the delivery service for the first time. We got a text when it was on its way and a text when the driver arrived. We tipped her $5 and thanked her, but to our dismay, it was the wrong order entirely. I quickly called the store and spoke to 'Laura' who assured me she'd call the driver and call me right back. About 5 min later she called and said they would remake our order and redeliver, and to keep the mistake order for ourselves as well. The girl who brought us the correct order was very sweet and we wished we had tipped her instead of the first girl but had no more cash . I had a terrible experience here yesterday!!! I have been a Panera customer for a very long time and have preferred to go to locations further out from me because of the bad experiences I have had at the waterbury location (closest to me). The first thing that went wrong was I couldn't find one clean table for my family to eat and had to hunt down an employee to ask if they could clean a table for me, which they did no problem. Then when I received my meal, my broccoli cheddar bowl was barely half filled!! I am convinced all they did was just put a cup size in a bigger bowl! We were missing spoons and a side of bread that should have come with the meal, which they gave when I asked. To no surprise the bread was stale and the soup tasted old! The atmosphere was terrible, a woman was randomly harassing my family when we tried to get a table cleaned near her to sit and she yelled saying there would be a class coming. She had not made any purchase at Panera and even brought her own water from home, then was giving nasty looks the whole time and only one person showed up who also did not order anything as well. I had a terrible experience and just wanted to get out of there! I stopped by the bathroom before I left and as I was walking by I saw a pile of food and trash that was piled into a corner of the kitchen!!! I wish I took a picture because it was disgusting and I immediately regretted spending my money there, especially since it is not cheap! I will not be returning to this location again. read more

I love coming here to get work done. It's a work friendly environment that has plenty of plugs, good lighting, clean, and calm music. It also is not overly packed in comparison to the Starbucks across town, so that's a plus. The food is good-- not as healthy as everyone deems it to be. Seriously, check the nutrition on the menu. I was shocked today. The Tomato/ Mozz Flatbread is not so bad for you and was really delicious. The coffee tasted so bad!! I actually laughed after sipping it. Gas station coffee may be better. I love me some Panera, especially that awesome Brocolli/cheddar soup. Their food is always amazing out of this one, comes out fast, etc. It can get EXTREMELY busy though. If you go around lunch, be prepared to not have anywhere to sit. My only gripe with this particular location is they don't listen when you ask them for extra items. I almost always enjoy two baguettes, which I know is extra and I have to pay for them. But there have been numerous occasions where I will ask for it, be charged it and then I get my order and I don't have it. I then have to ask and they seem to get a little tudey and kind of "throw" the bread on my plate as if I'm asking them to go get the grain and make the bread themselves. If I'm paying for it, I don't understand why it's so much trouble to give it to me. Also, this location runs out of bread A LOT. I have the Panera card though which is good since I get some awesome deals. Other than my gripe about nowhere to sit and the bread fiasco, this Panera produces some of the better food I've had, and the staff that takes your orders is always very friendly.
