Stopped in before doing some weekly grocery shopping. There were a few people in line but it moved pretty quickly. There were a lot of open tables and everything looked clean. We went with a sausage egg and cheese on ciabatta, spinach and bacon soufflé and broccoli and cheese soup. It was a little pricey in my opinion but very tasty. If I could leave a zero star rating I would. Again this morning I ended up leaving the restaurant because the two girls behind the counter could only work on one order at a time. Left me standing there waiting for about 4-5 minutes. This is definitely the worst run Panera I have ever been in. I never have any issues like this at other stores. Panera Bread is bang that's not worth your buck. I'm in a hard spot with ZERO options if I'm eating here. In my opinion, the only thing that's good at PB are the bagels and cream cheese; however, you're still paying more than you should for something that's not made in-house. Very disappointing! Panera is my favorite lunch stop as I travel for work throughout the day all over NoVA. Loudoun County by far has the best franchisees. Service, portions, even pricing(which is surprising) is far superior in Loudoun County. At this Warrenton location I ordered my usual half and half lunch menu, a soup + a salad. I paid the extra buck to upgrade the soup from a cup to a bowl, but only to be served a cup of soup in a bowl! The home made style chicken noodle soup barely had any chicken in it and plenty noodles. You might as well call it a pasta dish instead! The Cobb salad was served in a soup bowl instead of a salad bowl which, again, made it be a smaller serving than it should be. Cherry tomatoes were replaced by chunks of half ripe tomatoes. I paid to add Gorgonzola but no cheese was added. Not to mention,I found a pepperoncini stem in my salad. I will never visit a Panera Bread location outside of Loudoun County! read more

Pretty disappointed with my turkey bacon bravo sandwich. Crazy amount of the mayo they put on it (see pictures). Ended up having to take off the lettuce, wipe it down with a napkin and put my own lettuce on it. The baguette that came with my soup was like hardtack also, making it inedible. Pretty good Panera location. I've stopped in for lunch a couple of times. My faves include the Sierra Turkey on Asiago Cheese Focaccia sandwich and the Steak and Blue Cheese salad. Today I tried the Thai Chopped Chicken salad. Pretty good salad. I want to say it's rated at around 200 calories or so. Lots of seating - including outdoor seating and free Wifi! read more

I just stepped into Panera to grab a loaf or two of French baguette for a wedding I'm hosting in a couple hours. When I walked in, I was the only one waiting and it took around 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. The employees were seemingly upset about something which was really unpleasant to be around at 9AM. The employee who helped me was very abrasive. No greeting, just a "...ready?". But with all that aside, I asked for a French baguette and she gave me a piece of one. When I said a full baguette she said they were all out... as I was staring at 2 large rolling racks filled with fresh baked baguettes... .. I had thought I would order take out from here for the brides and groom lunches but I will definitely be going elsewhere. Poor performance. read more

Of the Panera locations in this area, Warrenton is my favorite. The staff is courteous and energetic and I've never even seen the outside patio unclean. As I walked in, the food prep area was getting a full mop-down (in the middle of the day) and while eating, someone was actually scrubbing the table bases...I don't think I've ever noticed a restaurant cleaning those. While there's a great variety of food here, I get the Chipotle Chicken sandwich with the creamy tomato soup or a Sierra Turkey Sandwich with a Greek salad. That's how I roll. There is free WIFI but I think they have a rate-limiter on the router. There are only 2 other people on laptops right now and my web access is about as zippy as a 56K modem. I live in Warrenton and regularly drive to the location in Gainesville, just to avoid this horrible location. Food is usually bland and slapped together. Staff customer service is questionable at best. It's unfortunate as we've had to even stop using this location for our company catering needs. Well, some people like lots of mayo; better to get too much then to ask for it and get none! I agree about the mask wearing however, Panera has to compete with other food chains in Virginia. If all food establishments don't require masks and Panera does require it, guess where (unfortunately) most people will go? Not Panera. Stopped in for a quick meal while Christmas shopping. The place was absolutely filthy. My husband ordered a Chipotle Chicken sandwich. It was made from canned, shredded chicken instead of normal grilled chicken, and he said it had a mushy texture and off taste. I asked if there were any gluten-free menu items, and the cashier suggested I could ask about any item, and she could check to see if it contains gluten, which would take all day in a restaurant that offers mostly bread. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I got the pick two with a cup of Turkey Chill and 1/2 a Heritage Ham &Swiss sandwich today for lunch. It was $10.03......the price doesn't match the amount of food!! The soup was great tasting and I wish that's all I would have got but the sandwich was ridiculous! It did not at ALL MATCH the picture on the website, which has more ham and Swiss hanging out of the bread. But mine with a 1x3 inch slice of cheese that didn't even cover half of the bread and the one slice of ham had hard fat going all throughout it so I couldn't even chew it because it was so hard so I had to throw it away. There was a few more small pieces of ham on there thank goodness but not enough to cover the bread. So it was mostly a bread sandwich with lettuce. I had not been to Panera in awhile and I won't be going back any time soon. If I ever do, I will not be ordering the sandwiches. Who ever made that should be ashamed of themselves!!!! This is my favorite Panera Bread location. The free wi-fi is a plus when dining alone & there's plenty of seating. It's always clean & I love the environment. The coffee is always full, the bagels are always fresh, & the staff is always friendly. I nabbed a table and hopped on the wifi before hitting the food line. Cause i don't like lines. And no-one snarled at me for sitting there without food! I found the speed to be great, but my other option was satellite, so really anything is faster than that! I got the french onion soup and ceasar salad - not what i would have liked for the soup - but sill tasty. And a pretty big portion for the choose 2 meal deal. Before doing some car-shopping this morning, stopped in here for a quick breakfast sandwich. This was my first time at a Panera, but hubby had been to one before. I ordered an "Egg, Sausage, & Cheese" on a Ciabatta roll; hubby an "Egg & Cheese" on a Ciabatta roll. Sandwiches came out promptly & hot; were $4 & change each. Real eggs were properly cooked - well, but not incinerated - & my sausage patty was a nice size, mildly flavored, & not overly salty like so many sausage patties are. The cheese was either Swiss or Gruyere, & there could have been a bit more of it. Hubby had to send out a search party for his as it apparently had melted completely into the bread. I also ordered a medium coffee ($1.89, I believe), & since you fill your own I was able to make my own "medium roast", since they don't offer that on its own. I simply poured myself 1/2 "light roast" & 1/2 "dark roast". It was fresh & delicious. Place was very clean, atmosphere quiet (LOTS of people reading newspapers or working on laptops), & order-taking/food-readiness quick considering the somewhat large crowd at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. There was a bit of confusion at the pick-up section, since no one was really manning it, & the food preparers were just shoving plates onto the counter, calling out names, & walking away. One gentleman picked up a sandwich, realized it was the wrong one, & after about 5 minutes just brought it back & stuck it back up on the counter. Sort of gave me a bit of a "ewwww" factor. Would I visit again? Definitely - especially since one just opened up a couple of weeks ago here in Culpeper. Decent, fast, freshly-prepared-to-order food at reasonable prices. Absolutely horrible experience. My family decided to order curb side pickup this evening. The Panera app basically advised they were out of certain salads and bread bowls so I decided to call to place the order. The girl taking the order appeared to be in another dimension as I had to repeat my order several times and give her my credit card information at least twice. I gave her a time for pickup and we arrived 5 minutes early. We live 5 minutes away and when we got home our soups were Luke warm and the French Onion soup was mostly broth. I have been eating at Panera for more years than I will admit to and one thing is always the same...the Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup...Yum! So many times we find a great place and they have that one great dish and they decide to change up the menu and our favorite meal goes away. Not a problem here at Panera. From the early days the Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice soup has been on the menu board and that is a very good thing! Always creamy and hot and loaded with chicken. Panera owns! This is such a nice location, right off 29, but not too busy. I went on a Sunday morning, seemingly pleasant church-goers were there too. Got a..bacon/spinach souffle, sausage/egg/cheese sandwich and a thai tea latte. The souffle and latte were excellent! The sausage/egg/cheese sandwich was not as exceptional, but that's probably because I was comparing it to the other two.
