I frequent Panera Bread a great deal in general. My local store is very hit or miss, so I've been visiting others to see if it is systematic or just locations. I was pleasantly surprised visiting this location for the first time. Parking is ample and close by. The staff greeted me when I walked in, my Rapid Pick Up was already on time and one of the employees went to get it because they had it behind the counter. Management must be doing a good job because the energy amongst everyone was positive. My order was accurate and all utensils were in the bag. The dining area and coffee areas were clean and well stocked. My Saturday morning was made good with my custom avocado toast and iced coffee in hand. read more

It is FriYay! This is a great stop off to grab lunch at the Panera Bread location in the city of Southfield on Telegraph Rd. They are located directly across the street from Meijers. My choice today was the Chicken Southwest Ranch Salad and Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. I am a member of the Panera Bread Sip Club which for a monthly fee you are able to get multiple drinks throughout even given day at no additional cost. Healthier lunch spot than Chic Fila or Popeye. I like the online ordering system where I can pick up my lunch once I walk in. Quality is about the same as other place so no complains there. Panera bread won't be making fresh bread anymore so this will be the last time I will come here for lunch. I should be supporting local deli anyway. read more

Brutal. Starts off with no one at the front counter to take my order. After a few min I went and found someone. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese B-Fast sandwich. Total, $7.30 !! I walk back to the pick up area and there's 2 guys in the kitchen. One moving as slow as possible, the other leaning against a back counter playing with his phone. After 8 min (seemed like 15) the guy on his phone finally moseys up to the front and starts making my sandwich. But he forgets the sausage. I ate half of my $7.30 egg & cheese and left. All that was to try to save a few minutes over the Kerby's a 1/2 mile south. There I can get the B-Fast special, which is TWO eggs, PLUS bacon or sausage, PLUS pancakes, grits or hash-browns, PLUS toast, all for $7.94. Just 64 cents more than the tiny sandwich at Panera. This location really needs to fire 1/3 of its employees and hire a manager. read more

Food quality has declined while prices have increased. The kiddos always loved the frosted cookies that changed shape with the seasons. They all spit out the pumpkin cookie, I tasted it and the frosting is now some waxy disgusting frosting. The breads on sandwiches were definitely not fresh. The soups tasted like hospital soups that are delivered in 5 gallon plastic bags. The smoothies use to be great now they are some sickly sweet premade blend. Even the lettuce blend in the salads has declined in quality. Yet another company ruined by MBA corporate bean counters. read more

On today's visit, the restaurant was not particularly busy, but service and maintenance were lacking. I've toilet was clogged with toilet paper and the other stall had no toilet paper. Then, the green iced tea was out and we asked if it was going to get refilled. It took 20 minutes, but it did get refilled. When we went to pick up our food, the worker at the counter gave my daughter a hard, green banana. When my daughter asked for a ripe one, the worker "shushed" and cut off my 16 year old daughter who was standing next to me and being respectful. Although this is the closest Panera to my house, I am not sure when I will be back, based on these hygiene and service concerns. read more

I like Panera Bread as a whole because I have an allergy and I know that I can go to any Panera and eat anything off the menu. That said, this is a terrible Panera! None of the employees seem to give a damn about their work! The bathrooms are filthy, have no paper, have mold around the soap dispensers and sinks, and the Men's room main door didn't close -- free show ladies! The woman who took our order didn't put the drinks with our meals and we were charged full price for our bakery items and we had to correct her on our order several times. My order (a simple soup) was ready at the window 15 minutes before my husband's grilled sandwich. All of these issues combined just made for a terrible meal event. read more

September 17, 2021 I only came here out of convenience, since my car is being serviced nextdoor. My previous experiences here have been lackluster and poor service. The door was unlocked, so I would assume they are open for service. I walk inside to see signs that read "kiosk or drive through only." When I ask an employee where the kiosk is, she merely points in the direction--there weren't people at the counter. I go back to the food pick up area to inquire how to order and I'm told drive through or online orders. I am unable to drive through since my car is being serviced. This is a huge inconvenience to Panera customers. As I sit outside typing this review, several other customers are walking up to the door to find the restaurant is closed for dine in service. Do better Panera at Telegraph and 12 Mile Road! It's sad, this used to be a nice location, but it seems to be continuing to spiral downward. read more

I do frequent this place often and I've never had any complaints. The staff is courteous, nice, and hasn't his customer service skills. The food is always fresh and delicious... and this place just doesn't miss! I've only sat down and ate inside one time before but that was years before the pandemic, so I'll have to come do it again sometime soon. I did recently find out that the pain green tea comes in a bottle now, so that was different. Other than that I usually try to try something different everytime, but more times than not i just end up getting my go to meal... (turkey, bacon, bravo a cup of turkey chili or broccoli cheese soup. Even though I modified a few things it was EXACTLY as ordered! They even wrapped each half separately (p/my special instructions). Half for tonight, half for an early flight tomorrow morning. I ordered online from the parking lot at 8pm for Cafe Pickup on my way home. It was ready in five minutes! Modifications? I ordered it on Country Rustic Sourdough (instead of Tomato Basil Bread), added Basil, Cilantro, Red Onion. Minus Garlic Aioli (I opted to spread a little avocado mayo at home). Tried the mobile app ordering at your table functionality for the first time here & it worked seamlessly! Our Italian sandwiches (Artisan ham, Chianti wine salami, spicy sopressa and provolone with spicy giardiniera, basil mayo and fresh arugula on a Artisan Ciabatta) came out quickly and tasted fresh & were delicious! Please see the Image of the burnt grilled cheese I received today. I did as instructed and called and spoke with the manager. I was told that I could drive back to get a new sandwich but what I received was accurate because the sandwiches are cooked open face. No apology. I told him I order grilled sandwiches pretty often and that they are not burnt and he did not agree with me but said he would make it for me. He turned down my offer of showing him what the sandwich looked like. I declined to take my time to drive back to basically receive the same thing I received originally. This is unacceptable, and not the Panera style I have grown accustomed to through the years. Their food is expensive but good and I'm willing to pay for it. This location has to be the worst Panera Bread that I have ever been to. I have come here before for work when I did Landscaping and there are always problems. I recently came in to eat inside. It was really quiet and there were not many customers. There was no line, but no one was at the register. I decided to use the self check out area to show my boyfriend how to use it. The process was simple and quick. We chose to dine in. We found a booth and waited. My buzzer did not ring. I went to the restroom, and upon walking out I saw my food. I was confused. We paid for a full bread bowl for both of us. The lady looked at me and asked what I was doing and why I was standing there. I told her that I ordered bread bowls. She said "I know. We don't have anymore so." She said it in the most rude tone. I told her that there is a price difference and she said that she at least added another piece of bread. I walked away and went to the table. My soup tasted barely warm. It had a nasty slightly cold taste. It tasted as if I had bought it the day before, reheated it, and it needed to be heated up more in certain areas. My boyfriend's soup was hotter than mine at least. His mac and cheese was good, but it was not very hot either. They needed to change their pop as well because my drink was entirely flat. I've never been a huge fan of Panera Bread for a few different reasons, but I come here because I like to sit and hang out before work. I've been coming here for a while now, and noticed a few things. For starters, I only go here for breakfast. I always get a bagel and sometimes get coffee. While I like the coffee, the bagels are decent and a okay. Sometimes, the staff messes up my order, and usually they fix it. Sometimes, I have to wait forever to get waited on because they only have one person running the register during the busy morning rush. The reason I gave two stars is because the staff here is just okay. I am also not overly impressed with the food, but it's way cheaper and slightly better then Tim Hortons down the street. One time I had a bad cream cheese and asked the counter dude for a fresh bagel since the cream cheese wasn't good. He looked in the cooler, said they all had the same expiration date and turned and went back to doing whatever he was doing. Other times I've had to wait at the register for a good 10 minutes because one person was putting together an order for like 3 million things and no one else would step up to help out. Other times, when my order has been wrong, I get ignored at the counter and just go sit back down. Also, their food isn't all that great. I went to this location to meet a friend. I have been to many Panera's and this place was not among the best. I ordered a coffee and had to track down the condiments because they were not in an obvious place. I also was taken back by the rude manner in which the Manager talked to an employee. It was bad enough that she talked to her so demeaning but it was worse that she did it in front of people. Very rude and unprofessional. it was uncalled for. Excellent staff here. I dined in with two kids on a Thursday around noon. While waiting for our food we had to run out to the car to get peas we forgot to bring in for my 1 yr old. As we returned someone was serving our food to our table because she had seen where we had set down our water. Normally you have to go to the counter to get it when they call your name so that was nice of her. The lady who had taken our order later came over to give us two free slices of pound cake for no reason. That was sweet. Someone else came around to ask if we were doing okay or if we needed any plates cleared though I thought it was normally expected to clear your own table. Food was as expected. Went through the drive thru (because the dining room is closed, even though there is a sign that says it's open). They forgot to give me utensils. Went inside to ask for utensils and one of the workers stared at me, said nothing, and went to the back of the store. He came back two minutes later and said "drive thru." I explained again that I just went through the drive thru and I just wanted a fork or spoon. He went back again this time to grab the manager, who asked what I needed and finally gave me utensils. Next day, I realized that my credit card was missing. I called the Panera 6 times with no luck. I drove back there, went inside, and asked if they had my credit card. When on the road in the middle of no where I always try to find a decent fast food joint that is somewhat heathy. Planets bread never disappoints! The bread and bakery items are to die far. This particular store on Michigan had the best customer service. They let us substitute items without any issues. My go to is bread bread and cookies! Never fail! read more

I just got back with my to go order. I had a broccoli cheddar bread bowl, a bacon turkey bravo sandwich with a fruit cup as the side, a small macaroni and cheese and a kitchen sink cookie with a large drink. They forgot my bread bowl, didn't put my fruit cup with my order, the cookie was hard like it was from days ago and the pickle was wrapped WITH my sandwich rather than putting two wraps so my tomato basil bread was soggy with pickle juice. It's a Panera,. it doesn't deserve more than 3 but maybe does because it was as consistent as its ever been for the past 10 or so years yet way better than the rest stop locations. This location is particular serves you at your table but the system isn't without flaws - during a busy lunch, the server wandered around the entire restaurant with one of our meals which was painful to watch but we couldn't get his attention. The you pick two is a favorite go-to bacon turkey bravo and caesar salad. Just enough food to kill hunger pangs but not enough to fill you up, perhaps that's why they give you a sourdough roll by default. The thing I disilke most about Panera is that its deceptively high in calories but that is no direct reflection on this location specifically so I'll leave that for a corporate review ;) read more
