I've been here more times than I'd like to admit, especially since I often find myself running errands in the Secaucus area. But after this visit, I think I'm officially done. The salads are consistently skimpy on toppings, and they never bother to remove the browned lettuce pieces. The tables are always greasy and rarely wiped down. And the broccoli cheddar soup -- the one thing I usually look forward to at Panera was so watery, barely thickened, like usual and so cold. Went here to grab some soup and chose the French onion. Super roomy, lots of tables. They also have a convenient kiosk to order food from, however they also have an employee as well if you or prefer that method. Theres plenty of parking as well, but was surprised that it was kind of expensive for just a soup. I haven't been to a Panera in years, have prices really gone up that much?! I normally would NOT have given this location 5 stars, but something has definitely changed - for the BETTER! The last several occasions I've been here, I have not left happy. Whether it was long lines to order, subpar customer service, food not being fast, or the dining area not looking clean...a lot has been desired....until today! Upon walking in today at lunch, I was greeted by the cashier Kevin, who was able to take me right away. He was knowledgeable, quick, kind, and took my order with exceptional customer service. I tried this Panera Bread very early in the morning (around 7am) and I had a pleasant experience. Nothing about it was super fantastic, but it wasn't awful either. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a hot tea. They give you the cup and you pour your own tea at a station, and then I only waited a couple of minutes for my food. They don't add any sauces, but you can help yourself to whatever condiments you desire like ketchup, mayo, etc. Be warned, the sandwich can leave a HUGE runny mess when you take your first bite. I didn't mind, but I'm sure some people would so be cautious when ordering this meal. I had a nice breakfast, although it didn't fill me up completely. I shouldn't have expected that from a sandwich alone so I won't fault Panera for that. Just a little tip for those who like a hearty breakfast- don't expect one sandwich to satisfy you. The food at this Panera was nothing to write home about. Some of the food we ordered was directly out of a Mylar container and had the same taste as Army Surplus MRE's. I personally think it's kinda hard to screw up a tuna sandwich but they were able to do it. The portions were carefully measured so they didn't give you to much, in fact they were skimpy. They didn't do justice to the turkey either Service was fast but I would call it friendly, in fact trying to make changes to a menu item appears to be a problem. The seating is not very clean and it looks like you have to clean up after whoever sat there first. I got takeout for lunch a couple times and each time they messed up the order. Waited 10 minutes in line when there are 4 machines around because it seems like they're not working. While at the register I thought to get a croissant but there were so many fruit flies flying around...*gags* Waiting for the food to come out is another nightmare. How the mighty have fallen. Asked for a bagel with creme cheese. Simple enough I thought; but no it was not. Most places, even NYC street vendors have the bagel cut and put on the creme cheese. I think we all know the jist of a Panera, but I haven't been in a while, so I'm not sure if they've all upgraded or just this one. I like ordering from a screen because then I can scroll through pictures of everything. Then over by the pick up area, they list people's name just if you are unsure if they forgot your order or if yours is upcoming. Although the self service kiosks don't give receipts and probably only take cards, but of course there is still a cashier. I got a sandwich and upgraded to mozzarella which was good, but there was so much lettuce in the sandwich it hid the cheese and I had to take a leaf off. There's plenty of parking if not right in front of the building, to the side by that shopping center and it's a nice quiet ambiance. There food is pricier than the value you are getting, but it can be a nice place to relax and work, so this seemed like a good location. read more

It's been a while since I've been back at Panera's, when I was younger me and my best friend pretty much lived here because we were obsessed with their you pick two and Ice green tea ( which we still are ) but we pretty much drifted off because we realized as good as we thought it was. Unfortunately its pretty pricey and not worth it. Every so often it's convenient and we are in the mood for it so we still come by and get some lunch. Before you used to have to wait for your food to pick it up at a counter but now they give you a number which you place on your table and they bring you your meal and even clean up after you, which is a great idea. They have free wifi so it has a nice warm feeling of being able go enjoy a meal and perhaps get some work in between a cup of coffee or tea. The times I've been to this particular location the workers are making sure the tables are clean fast so other customers can sit and enjoy their meals. The parking can be a bit of a pain since there's other establishments around but if you dont mind a short walk, you'll definitely find parking near the Marshalls & petsmart. This particular Panera the cashier was very friendly, but the lady who dropped off our food wasn't so much and it looked like she was a manager which is even worse. Also forgot to bring a smoothie which we had ordered and since she took our number when she quickly dropped off our food I had to go in searching for the drink which no one knew where it could be. Turns out someone else was trying to bring it to our table but since there was no number they had no idea where to take it. ( Maybe when they deliver stuff to the tables they should check the receipts or ask if theres anything else missing?) just saying to avoid simple mistakes. Their baked treats are good, I dont think you can't go wrong there. Usually when I do go to a Panera is early to pick up a sweet treat and get their vanilla chai. The absolute worst Panera location I've ever given my money to. I love Panera and have eaten at many across the east coast, but at this location I always leave underwhelmed or dissatisfied. They either get the order wrong or cut the portions or leave something out of you bag. Today I went to this location in Secaucus NJ and got the saddest grilled cheese sandwich. First they used a cheaper, different quality of cheese than they normally do. Probably the cheese the same cheese they sprinkle on top of the salads. I've been to this Panera a few times, and have never had a problem here. At lunch time, they do get a little busy. Otherwise, it's never crazy. For the most part, I've only experienced good customer service and fresh food. Also, I'm not sure if this is new but they also offer table side service. I recently ordered a breakfast sandwich and was given one of those alarms that go off once your food is ready. I sat down and waited for it to beep. A few minutes later, an employee came over with my sandwich. He looked at the number, gave me my sandwich and said "thank you and enjoy." I much prefer this over having to wait for my food because the counter area can get pretty crowded at times. Also, they list the brew times for the coffee but I wonder how accurate it is. I got coffee today, and it was lukewarm. Strange since it supposedly was made just 30 minutes earlier. I don't think it should be that cold if it's been in a thermos that whole time. Parking is decent in the area and during the warmer months, they have outdoor seating! They also offer free wifi and the noise level is pretty average. This would be a good place to get a bite or a drink if you need to get a little work done. Lastly, if you get the Panera card, you get a free coffee or tea after every 7 coffee/ tea purchases.
