This evening the cashier in this Panera had some bad attitude problem! If she is having a bad day then go sit down in the back and have some tea or something. This is what happened.... The customer in front of me couldn't speak English well and was trying to order a bagel. The cashier refused to enter the bagel order until the customer can pronounce the name of the bagel. Even after the customer pointed correctly to the bagel the cashier refused to take his order. She keep rolling her eyes at him. She finally pulled the name tag on the bagel tray and put it in front of the customer; "Asiago Cheese." The customer doesn't speak English well and couldn't said the bagel name. Came here for a quick lunch while running errands on a Saturday. It was quite busy so I opted to use the machine to order my lunch. Ordering at the kiosk was very simple and quick - bonus if you don't want to speak to anyone. Once I placed my order, I walked over to the pick up counter and waited for them to call my name. It was busy since it was lunch time but I was able to find a quiet and clean place to sit. I ordered a turkey sandwich with broccoli cheddar soup and a bag of chips. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The bread for the sandwich had an awesome texture and was most definitely fresh. The broccoli cheddar soup was hot and a much needed comfort on a cold day - No matter what I do, I can never make this soup as good as Panera makes it. Panera Bread is one of my favorite pick ups when I'm craving sandwiches, soups, and baked goods! They have special You Pick 2 deals where you pick any of 2 of a cup of soup or Mac, half a salad, or half a sandwich. So I ended up doing the pick 2 deal and they had so many good soup and sandwich selections! I was going back and forth thinking in my head what I should choose, either a chicken noodle soup or tomato soup or a broccoli cheddar soup! They were all so good! I ended up with a broccoli cheddar soup and half Chipotle chicken melt sandwich! I placed the order for pick up and they have a monitor for status progress to see if your order went through and if it is ready or not for pickup. When I got the order, I noticed that they have a Panera Bread sticker tape to tape the bag up and the contents are in a large brown paper bag. The cup of soup is a tad bit small for my liking and wish it was a lot bigger because the soup was so good. It is very hot so it did burn my tongue a bit. The cheddar made it very cheesy and it was somewhat watery with bits of broccoli in the soup. The sandwich was the bomb! It got me hooked for more. The avocado and the chicken made a perfect blend in my mouth. Going to order the full sandwich and a bigger size of the soup next time I'm there! This Panera Bread is very spacious and has so much seating all over the place so there's no way you will not find a seat! Chairs are very comfortable with leather bound cushion and booths available which are very private. They also have many kiosks for self checkouts by the entrance if you don't want to use the cashier. Came here for lunch on a hungry weekday. I've always loved Panera's sourdough bread so to me anything Panera is a thumbs up for me. Ordered at the kiosk near the entrance and decided on the sandwich and soup combo. Wait time wasn't long, but the counter staff forgot to call out my name- so I stood there waiting for more than ten minutes more or less. Got back and devour my warm turkey club sandwich--So delicious. It's the outer bread that makes the sandwich taste so much better-yum. I waited five minutes and I was the only one online. No one came to help me. If you don't pay by app or on their tablets for the credit card, obviously they're not interested in taking your cash. There was one woman at the register, helping someone with her app on her phone. But no one would help me take my order. People walked by. They looked at me, they said sorry you have to wait. I usually get the same thing too which is the half chipotle chicken avocado melt & broccoli & cheddar soup which is apart of their "You pick two". There's kiosk which make it convenient to order so you don't have to wait on line as well. The food always taste the same & good. My only complaint would be it seems like sometimes there isn't enough meat on the sandwich. I'm not expecting it to be equivalent to a deli sandwich, but a few more slices would make a difference. This is a pretty busy location due to it being a little shopping area, so it can be a little slow at times, however the staff does seem to be working at a steady pace & getting the orders out. read more

The cashiers have the most nastiest attitudes ever! If you don't like your job and serving people food, then you should simply quit your job! I went into this location and ordered mac and cheese and soup, which obviously requires SPOONS to eat. I had already had been switched to three different cashiers and had my order retaken because their "machines kept on freezing". I get my food after a solid 20-25 minutes of waiting & when I open the bag, I see that I got two breads when I asked for CHIPS. No napkins at all and not even one spoon. Came in for some late bfast and ordered their new signature Spicy Take sandwich combined with an iced Passion Papaya green tea and corn chowder soup. Ordering options were in-person or at a kiosk - opted for in-person, staff was welcoming and friendly. Answer all my questions happily and took my order. Unfortunately the eating experience wasn't so good. The chicken sandwich did not taste "fresh" and was lukewarm, the piece of bread accompanied with the corn chowder looked like it was ripped off or leftover from someone taking a bite, hard to chew due to being stale like the tortilla chips. The Papaya green tea was just meh, had that aftertaste you get from a fountain soda. Can't determine if everything was fresh and warm can justify the $22 it cost me. My regular Panera in Astoria would never!!!!! Came in for lunch this afternoon and every single table was filthy. I stopped one of the workers to ask if they could clean the table and was told "we're busy" mind you the restaurant was pretty much empty tables so I'm not sure what they were busy doing. One of the workers who I believe was a manager then condescendingly offered me wipes so that I could clean my own table. I took them and said "sure because I work here now" she ripped the wipes from my hand and said I'll do it for you then. At this point I would have just walked out had my mom's blood sugar not been dropping and she needed to eat. The worker then told me "this is NY we're busy" I'm well aware of where I live but thank you for the update. I then proceed to order my own food at the kiosk and I'm pretty sure they would have preferred that the customers start making our own food as well so they could continue standing around doing nothing. The food was fine, standard panera however the attitudes definitely need improvement, will definitely not be back to this location , I will stick with the friendly service at the Astoria location which might I add is just as if not busier than this one and the workers are all polite and go above and beyond for customers read more

Sometimes if we don't know what to eat on a weekend, we will go to Panera Bread due to the great variety of options. The decor is simple, bright but kind of narrow-spaced. It was popular but not that crowded. The staff was slow, reluctant and not really friendly. Their food was decent with reasonable price and great portion. I only decided to try a unique beverage since many items just seemed generic to me. I went for their Madagascar Vanilla cold brew drink, which was really good. It's sweet but not overwhelming sweet. The service is good here and it can get very busy depending on the time of the day. Especially in bad weather. The bathrooms were pretty clean as well which is always a plus. Haven't been here in a while and now I remember why. The food is just not good. Combine that with people working there who look miserable and it's not a good combo. I ordered the chicken noodle soup, chicken wild rice soup, chicken avocado sandwich and chicken buffalo sandwich. The two soups were just broth. I literally counted the number of noodles and chicken. It tasted almost watered down to make more servings. The chicken avocado sandwich was ok and tasty mostly because of the sauce. The buffalo one was just bread, cheese and some sprinkles of onions and chicken. I mean for a price of over $30 I could have just bought cheese, bread and chicken. I do like their pastry, & bread offerings (these are much more reasonably priced compared to their entrees). Due to their coffee subscription, I have been visiting quite often. If you live in the neighborhood, & drink coffee, daily, I would highly recommend considering ($8.99/ month for unlimited coffee, & tea). Workers here are friendly, & nice. They could probably use some extra staff sometimes, imo. Visited this Panera Bread numerous times with the kids for lunch and snacks. It is a busy restaurant. One time during lunch, it was so packed that we waited for seats but not too long. People here are mindful and will leave once they finish their meal. This is a high traffic area Panera Bread. There is only one person at the cash register which I feel bad for especially when there is so many people waiting in line to place an order. There is a staff member that will ask if you want to use their machine and place order. Think they should put that person on the cash register. That why it's so slow here. The food is good and they call your name as well as give you a pager which vibrates to let you know when your food is ready. One drawback is the hot water for tea is not hot enough. Once hot water container is taken, it takes a while for another container to come out. I will stick with coffee for there are three types to select from. read more

It seems strange to having spent so much time in suburbia (aka chainland) and never having stepped foot into a Panera Bread until being in NYC. This location is tied to the ultra busy Rego Center in Rego Park and is also busy itself day in and out. Crowds flock to the mall constantly and PB has so much of what people want: Free WiFi, a healthy (ish) menu, affordable prices, and a spacious layout. The one constant here is that they're so slow. Order any of their infamous soups and sandwiches and watch it take it forever. Over time I've learned it's best to order something that takes the least amount of time. Drinks. Pastries. Basically anything that wasn't prepared in house and is easily heated up or served. I am not thrilled with the food ever. I appreciate their pastries, but only in the morning when they're delivered to the place. Otherwise, the soups for lunch are a major gamble. The creamy tomato soup or clam chowder look decent, but they're usually pretty bland. Their butternut squash is usually solid but that's seasonal. Avoid the lobster roll if possible, it's not worth it. This spot has been a source of a lot of my laptop time. The WiFi isn't the fastest, but it's hard to complain when it's still faster than the service. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I came in today at 9:40 pm and placed a dine in order through the self kiosk. My partner and I sat down in a table and waited for the food... 1st complaint- when our pager went off my partner went to pick up our food and we were missing one item, when he asked were was the missing item the panera guy told him "we don't have that anymore" (that was unacceptable because he could have offered something else since it was already paid for- at the end my partner did get a different thing but because he requested, not because the panera guy offered.) 2nd complaint- like I said our pager went off and our food was delivered to us at 10:01 PM, We didn't know they close at 10 o'clock so we started eating our food inside (we ordered a grilled cheese, bagel and 2 hot chocolates). Literally 3 minutes later the same Panera guy came up to us and said: guys we are already closed, I said already? And he replied: yes, we close at 10. I was upset at this point. Around 4 minutes later he came back and said the same thing. I got even angrier and told him: "We received our food 10:01pm!!! These employees at the Junction Blvd Panera Bread are still at it shortchanging customers when they order the "dozen and a half" bagels. Today, Sunday, November 7th, 2021 wife and I decided to satiate our craving once again for bagels and freeze what was left for toaster oven bagels. Very bad move ..... not only were the bagels hard as a rock but we once again got short changed with 17 instead of the 18 bagels which we purchased. This is now the 4th time however we were smart enough to count the bagels outside the store. Limited selection of baked goods such as a lack of large sized sour dough loafs of bread. No PAPER NAPKINS whatsoever to be had. Only good news to report is they now have eat-in dining instead of having to eat on ice cold aluminum chairs and tables outside the store .... ugh! First time ever coming to this location and it'll be the last. So lazy. The cashier clearly wanted to just go home (it's 8:00 pm BUT DAMN) I know he wanted to go home because he saw me and my mom, proceeded to tell us to just order from that kiosk and walked away. I had to ask him like "uhhh y'all make smoothies right?" Cause I didn't see it in the menu (first time coming to Panera bread) and he gave me an attitude and walked away. I try ordering it and realize I don't have my card so I have to use my card in my wallet (Apple) to my discover there's no chip reader on the very kiosk this fool made me use. So I had to LOOK for him to ask him how to PAY. Yes I had to ask how to pay. And then he said okay I'll just take you in the cash register, like bro cmon why didn't you just do that in the first place. If you don't wanna close then don't close. Then when I got to the register, he asked me "what'd you order?".... Like I know the exact order info and stuff, this is my first time coming here; they're so delusional with their customers. Anyone would be annoyed in this situation, I had to go back to the kiosk to see what was the name of the smoothie I ACTUALLY wanted. The food itself was fine, i have no complaints with taste or freshness etc but the portions are very small. I usually buy onion soup and really like it. However if you come to this location, do yourself a favor and take it to go. My experience with the dining area had me feeling like I was eating in the twilight zone. A lady was sitting at another booth across me with no shoes on, her bare feet stretched out on the opposite seat. An elderly man was using a table for 8 to write his memoir with his pull bottle on the table, it was a little absurd.
