This Panera is terrible. Each time I give it another chance, majority of items are "out of stock." Tonight every soup option was out... that is ridiculous. Usually my sandwich orders have had part of the ingredients out or have been sloppy. I don't recommend coming here. read more

I'm not typically one to write reviews for chain restaurants. But why not? This place is lovely. Even before they revamped everything, it was clean, fast and welcoming. Now it's all that and then some. Our rather large group of board gamers comes here every Wednesday evening. As an avid gamer, we're used to being tolerated at most establishments, but this Panera has continues to seemingly roll out the red carpet for us every week. They're friendly with all of their patrons actually and it's what keeps us coming back. Loving the addition of computers to order. Super easy and convenient. Just grab and number, sit down and your food will arrive within minutes after plugging in exactly what you want. When the weather is nice, the tables outside are a great place to eat, play and generally speak a bit more loudly than one might inside. read more

Panera is fine for what it is - a place to grab a quick, decent lunch. I stop in here about once every week or so. In particular, I like the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich, the Sierra Turkey, and the new Tomato and Mozzarella Panini. Soups and salads are good too. This particular location, however, earns an extra star. Corporate should give the manager a big, fat bonus because I have never seen such an efficiently run operation. They are packed at lunch and it's not unusual for the line to run out the door, about 20-25 people long. Yet you somehow make it up to the registers to place your order in five minutes and you're out the door with food in hand in another five. In my line of work, outside sales, Panera Bread is a staple. It does triple duty as a meeting place, workspace, and eating place, and I can often be found at one location or another throughout the week. Panera, like many chains, has standard operating procedures for just about everything from food preparation to customer service to sanitation and cleaning. This Panera really doesn't make the mark for me based on a few things. First, there is a lack of outlets for plugging in. Second, more often than not this location is dirty. Like, McDonalds in the city dirty. Food under tables, dirty napkins on the floor, greasy tabletops. The bathrooms aren't much better either. I'm actually kind of shocked to see this in a chain with so much regularity and I avoid this particular location whenever I can, opting instead for the Starbucks near Shop Rite or the Ruby Tuesday on route 1 (which has WiFi!) In other news, Panera has a hidden menu now which is lower carb, gluten free, and breadless. Don't know why it's hidden, it would be a surefire money-maker if they put the items on the board with the "general population" of food items, but I'm guessing the net profit margin for bread is higher than that for chicken. My cousins and I were very impressed when walking into this newly renovated Panera. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and sat outside. The service was excellent and our lunch was delicious! My cousins were ecstatic Panera brought back their favorite Asian sesame chicken salad. I ordered the green goddess cobb salad which was very good and filling. The reason I'm writing this review is because the waiters who brought our food out were so friendly and truly happy to be there. I asked for chips instead of bread and the waiter went right in and brought my chips with a smile on his face. They checked on us and cleared our plates when we were done. The service was efficient at this Panera Bread. The soba noodle soup with chicken served with French baguette and the Frontera sandwich served with chips were good. I prefer the more nutritious quinoa lentil soup. The seasonal 99c. pumpkin cookie was pretty, but tasted average and dry. I will not repurchase this. It was easy and free to park, which is why I prefer this location to the one on Nassau St. The bathroom were less clean than average. Hence, one star was lost. read more

Ate here with family for lunch around 12 o'clock. The only reason I took away a star was because the tables were not clean and the chairs had tons of crumbs and used napkins. Food came to our table in less then 10 minutes and was hot. Our server was very friendly and after she gave us our order, she constantly asked us if we needed anything else. I used to come here pretty often and didn't have any issues. These past few months, I had a very bad experience ordering there, there were always several things missing (toppings, baguette...). I can totally understand if this happens once or twice. What I don't get is when this happens 4 times in a row, and it's not just one thing is missing, it's like half the order is wrong. I like this Panera a lot more than the one in Princeton, but mainly because it is so much less crowded during peak hours and the food here isn't overly sweet or salty. I always get the you pick two combo with a Mediterranean veggie sandwich and French onion soup. I also ask for a free glass of lemon water, since the smallest beverage option is way too large for me. The combo is the perfect portion size with the exact ratio of sandwich to soup that I prefer. I also love the feta cheese pesto that they use to make the sandwich - very creative! The only baked good I've ever gotten here is a coffee cake with a hazelnut coffee, which was mediocre at best. I wouldn't ever come here just for something sweet unless I was seriously craving a post-lunch/dinner treat and I couldn't find a local bakery/cafe nearby. They have good wifi at this location and provide outdoor seating during the summer. You can also do mobile orders here and make sure to tell them you have a mypanera card to get discounts or free food items. read more

This is the best Panera for miles. Beautiful on the inside--clean and well-maintained. Staff pay attention to detail and rarely get your order wrong. Generally very well run. So much so that even though I live less than a mile from another Panera's in Ewing, I still make the 20-mile round trip to this one, because the Ewing location is the exact opposite. Awful. Traveled over an hour to meet with family over the holidays. The relatives also traveled an hour to get there. Halfway point. To make a long story short. Both bathrooms were out of order! How can you run a business like that! I was told to go to Target to use their lavatory. What a joke. I am disabled and have mobility issues. Give me a break. We went to Zoe's Kitchen. I would normally not bother reviewing a chain outlet, but this Panera is somehow different. Of course, the menu is the same like in other Paneras: soups, good fresh bread, sandwiches and panini. Still, on a sunny day, this place is difficult to beat for lunch. Because of the beautiful outside seating area. At the back is a park like area overlooking a lake with snapper turtles and shrubs and trees. I spotted a beautiful small bird with a yellow breast and a bluejay. The first time I went to a Paneras, I thought it was just another upscale Princetony-type eateries. I was really surprised to find out that it was actually a chain! Panera is not at all what I expected from a chain; good food, fresh ingredients and soup that was not too hot or not too cold... what a treat! I'd love to know how they get it at exactly the right temperature every time. I recommend the Sierra turkey sandwich... tasty turkey with a great sauce, fresh lettuce and onion and cheese baked right into the bread. I also love the french onion soup, its thicker and more savory than most soups I've had. I can't say I've ever had bad service there... but then again I've never had my order placed incorrectly or anything like that. Occasionally I get someone who takes my order that is not especially friendly... but I get that in a lot of places. I'm usually handed my food with a smile, which is always appreciated! One time they forgot to put cheese in my soup, but thats a minor detail, and the soup is better without it my opinion! The place can get EXTREMELY busy during lunch on any day and dinner on the weekends, where things get a little slow and the main seating area gets noisy and crowded. But my solution to that is... there is a little seating area right next to the bakery area that is usually never crowded and is significantly less noisy. Even if the restaurant isn't busy its a nice cozy nook too eat in peace... just my little secret that might help all you yelpers out there enjoy your lunch a little more :) Oh and the outside eating area is GREAT on sunny days! read more

This place is awful! Out of all the places I have gone for coffee this is the worst. Due to the lack of ceiling, yup you look up and you see the buildings roof, its loud and cold. The glass here must be thin and not having a drop ceiling really just leats the heat out. I give it 2 stars because I like the coffee but that the only thing I like about this place. read more

I love Panera as a decent and fairly healthy sandwich/salad/soup-type place. I would normally give the chain 4 stars but I am giving this place an extra star because of the over-the-top excellent service I received there the other day. The story is as follows - My boyfriend and I were getting dinner out as a mid-week treat. We ordered our food and while my boyfriend paid, I wandered off to get my iced tea. When I looked up again, he was walking towards me and I could see that something was wrong. It turns out, our debit card was declined (turned out the bank had placed a hold on the card due to some non-existent weird pattern they saw or something - I had actually just been paid). I hadn't brought my wallet, so we walk out the back door, me with my now-stolen drink, to discuss what to do without being overheard. My boyfriend starts to call the bank when a man walks out the back door and tells us our meal has been taken care of. I was stunned. When we went back inside, we found out that the general manager had been checking everything before he left and overheard the debit card fiasco and took care of our meal for us. I thanked him again profusely and we merrily went on our way with our food. Needless to say, I will definitely be back again. read more

I may lose sleep tonight over the fact that this Panera is only 2.5 stars. I'm being sarcastic but I'm so stunned because I've only have exceptional experiences. I work down the road and I'm a frequent customer for the rapid pickup (which is super awesome btw)! The food is just like any other Panera but what makes this one great is the employees. Especially the managers who have gone above and beyond to help me when I made mistakes with my orders/location. They are extremely hard working and friendly!! This Panera's is the worst. To start with it took a long time before anyone came to take my order and I had to call for someone to come to the front counter. I ordered a diet soda and was told they were out of diet soda. When I received my Asian crispy salad with chicken, I noticed there were no edamame beans and that is what makes that salad. I took it up to the counter and was told they had no edamame beans but I was not told that when I ordered the salad. There was no apology from either the person behind the counter or the manager. They did give me a strawberry seasonal salad with chicken in its place. I walk with the aid of a walker and I told them I would only be able to take one of my two orders to the table and I would be back for the second which was soup and a sandwich for my husband. The manager stood right there next to me and never offered to help. It was the absolute worst experience and I will never go back there again. read more

This is a very bright and clean panera. Its design concept is really cool - is this what all paneras will now look like? The person at the register was very warm and he greeted me kindly in the morning. The staff was prompt and got me my food right away. I like that there is ample parking here (it's in a shopping center!). On warm days, maybe I'll even take advantage of the outdoor seating. read more

Like Anja, I don't get the hype. Some people around me at work absolutely LOVE this place and go there whenever they can. For me, when I have to go, I usually am not so thrilled or looking for a way out. The food is just so-so in my personal opinion and its a bit pricey for my liking versus some other local spots that you can get a good value from. A lot of times they put stuff on the sandwiches that I cant even figure out what it is that detracts from the base flavors of your sandwich, etc. Every time I come here I try and get something different... still haven't found something I am impressed with yet. Its a big place, which is nice, but man it fills up quick. Get there early for lunch if you want a table, especially if you have a big party. Other than that, its a Panera. Don't expect special attention at this store. Staff is mostly just focused on getting you in and out versus trying to help you decide. That's fine if you come here too often and just want your food. The drip coffee is definitely better than any of their hot drinks. My dad definitely picked he better drink. I tried the signature hot chocolate and it was basically watery milk with a foot of foam. And then their baked goods. The mixed berry scone is basically a blueberry scone. Everything is coated in sugar. This is the fanciest Panera I've ever been to. Inside has ample seating with different areas such as a fireplace/living room type area. Very clean and bright inside, I came here to do work one weekday evening and they even have a private room with table. Ordering couldn't be any easier- on the tables there are numbers which you can order online and it gets delivered right to your table. You can also go up to the counter to order of course. The meal I ordered came out very quickly. I got the cream of chicken and wild rice soup in a bowl with the baguette and it was your standard panera dish. The staff was also very attentive, returning to ask if we needed anything and took away our dirty dishes promptly. To be honest, I was confused if I was in the right place with all this extra service! This place had a very homey feel with the comfy booths and home style furniture. read more

I decided to order through the tablet they had available. It went smoothly at first until it was time to pay. First their chip reader didn't even work. Which is annoying because most cards have chip, and it won't read the card when you swipe it. So I decided to go to the front, and that's where it got bad. There is absolutely no other customers in the store, and there were some available workers to help me out. Before anything, I just want to add that I am very patient and I never do this... but this was unacceptable. So I am standing in the front waiting to be helped... and I hear multiple employees telling the cashiers that there's somebody in the front that needs help. The cashiers look at the front and ignore us. We were standing there for almost 20 minutes just waiting to be helped. So the manager had to help us and he could've been a lot nicer. I have eaten there too many times to count. However, recently they have changed the way they grill their paninis which turns them into hard inedible sandwiches. They no longer use the panini press. Just eyeballing it will tell you that it's vastly overdone. Recently, our family was there for lunch and ordered our favorite chicken frontega and was shocked to discover this new process that they now have. I brought the sandwich back to the counter hoping to see if they could switch it with a better version. The lady at the counter was rude and the staff inside made a comment about how I was going to "feel their love" in the next serving. I ignored the comment and brought the sandwich back to my 10-year-old for whom it had been ordered. A day later, my son was violently sick. He's never been that sick before. He was the only one who ate the sandwich that I got remade and he was the only one who got sick. Coincidence or correlation?! I'll let you decide.
