Meal was great, fresh and delicious, but the service was exceptional. Dining area was serviced by an elderly gentleman who was a gem, so personable, couldn't have had a nicer experience. I'm a fan of Panera Bread, especially for their fresh bread and unique cold teas they have "on tap." On my most recent visit I ordered a Pick Two with a steak and white cheddar sandwich and Asian Sesame chicken salad. I love the dressing they use for the salad. Chicken is frozen before use as I could tell from a piece of my barely defrosted chicken. The food is "meh" but hit the spot as I had missed lunch this particular day. First, they changed their entire menu which I wasn't exactly happy about but I ordered and sat. The kitchen took much longer than usual with my order (I got half a sandwich and Mac n cheese-nothing out of the ordinary or difficult) and there were hardly 5 people in the place. I sat and waited for over 10 minutes just to be served cold mac n cheese. It didn't seem like they heated it up at all. Not room temp. Cold. I took my Mac n cheese back up to the food servers and said (word for word) "Excuse me, my Mac n cheese is cold." The kid behind the counter responded (word for word) "There's a microwave over there" and pointed to the right. Yes, I just heated up my own mac n cheese in the middle of Panera Bread. I had to grab a quick lunch and after reviewing all of the choices decided to go with Panera. I used the mobile order feature and they had my stuff ready in less than 5 minutes. I was quite impressed! The food quality was typical Panera; good, not amazing. But it's a chain and I totally expected that. Overall I was satisfied. The only thing that they could work on, and this is a very minor gripe, is having napkins and cutlery in an easy to find spot. I grabbed my order out of the 'to go' cubby and after looking in 3 different places unsuccessfully I had to search out one of the workers to show me what was what. So I did a DoorDash order this evening like i do often here at work. Every time I order Panera Bread no matter what I get I order a chocolate chip cookie. Well every time I order they forget to put it in. So called this time and spoke with the Manager, not sure what her name was but she is the wonderful lady who's working tonight on 8/12/22. She assured that my cookie was in the bag this time. I thanked her and hung up. I received my order shortly after and when I opened it not only was my cookie in there but 5 more and a note. This is the second time that Panera Bread has gotten our order incorrect. I ordered 2 green goddess salads with extra chicken on both and what I received is one green goddess salad with all of the chicken and the second one with now chicken. In general, there's really not a whole lot to dislike about Panera bread and this location is basically the same as every other one. I find the sandwiches to be good, but do find the menu a bit intimidating at times (for me, too many options). The pastries are usually okay, too. The one drawback with all Panera locations seems to be cleanliness -- I think they do a poor job of wiping down/keeping tables clean. read more
