    Burnt baguettes

It's hit or miss with this location. It already loses points because it's located inside a hospital and there are no non-diet beverages, but I understand that's not within their control. The staff is always very nice. First of all you already know Panera is a bit on the pricey side. I don't mind paying the price because for the most part the food is pretty good. Today I ordered two items to the tune of $18.45. The Mac & Cheese and a Caesar Salad, both of which come with a French baguette. My heart was set on on devouring everything. The first bite of the Mac & Cheese was great but the baguettes were burnt!!!!! I mean like my gums are tender after biting into the first one burnt. The burnt taste was in mouth for a couple of minutes. First of all I understand how something can be left in the over a few minutes too long (stuff happens), But come on Panera, you know better...it shouldn't be served to your customers because it's no longer quality food when it's burnt. Panera please do better.

I come here almost every morning as it's located inside of my job. Can't go wrong with the maple bacon, scrambled egg and cheese wrap. It's the only thing I get from here as this location doesn't serve everything the regular stores sell (so keep that in mind if you come to this location) never had an issue with my order and the rapid pick up is extremely fast. I could be outside the doors, place my order online and it's ready in minutes. My only complaint would be, again this location doesn't serve the full menu their other locations do but it's good enough for me. Also sign up for the Panera rewards program. Really comes in handy for free and discounted items!

Being 5 minutes from our destination we decided to give it a try And boy are we glad we did! The sammiches weee absolutely outstanding. They come with a smorgasbord of toppings, so you need to peruse the list to determine if there is anything you DON'T want. We had three turkey sammiches and one ham, and everyone chose to modify their toppings slightly (note/ if you desire tomatoes, those need to be added as they oddly aren't on included in the smorgasbord ‍) I opted for everything - perhaps a bit anxious about how well all the flavours would mesh (mayo, mustard, horseradish, oil and vinegar along with various toppings). But you know something / it worked really really well. We also chose the potato salad as a side and it was also quite tasty. Lighter, northerly mayo's. While the sammiches weee being constructed we perused the offering in the attached grocery. Everything oooed fantastic and if we lived Locally, I would certainly be a regular - with an eye to trying many of their offerings beyond the sandwich counter.

On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

***BANH MI HEADCHEESE GOAT***…read more This is the best Banh Mi sandwich I've ever had in my entire life for a cold cut with homemade real head cheese. I've always said that places that make Banh Mi without the head cheese & charge the same $8 prices and call it a cold cut these places need to be locked up and the key thrown away because that is not a real cold cut Banh Mi & you're getting ripped off. This place is totally worth every penny that you pay for their sandwiches. They also make vegan sandwiches. Their marinated tofu is actually really good. I really wish this place would make Boba drinks, especially something with like a coffee jelly because I'm always wanting a Vietnamese sandwich with a Boba drink. Luckily there's a couple down the street that I can go to to get this right after I pick up a sandwich from here. Minnesota is the only place that I've found that makes really good Banh Mi sandwiches. I honestly don't think any other state compares to the Vietnamese food here.

It is pretty casual; you can ordered at the counter and they assemble the sandwich right in front of you. For hot foods, they called out when your order is ready! Everything is ready quickly, so it would be a good spot if you only have a short break. If you have more time and you'd like to sit down, they have plenty of seating available! They serve banh mi, rice noodle bowls, egg rolls, and spring rolls. They have several vegetarian option. I got the veggie egg rolls and a large tofu banh mi which I split with a friend! The egg rolls had a good crisp. They're filled with carrots and bean thread primarily. They are definitely an oilier egg roll, but no one eats egg rolls to be healthy! They are tasty, and I would get them again! The tofu banh mi was good! The tofu had a good curry flavor, and they were generous with their fillings, which I really appreciated! The bread itself wasn't the crispiest, but it was a humid day so I could see that making it a little less crisp! It was still overall good, and I was really happy with the amount of mayo that went on the sandwich! I think you get good bang for your buck with the sandwiches here, so I would recommend it and go back!

I really wasn't prepared to spend $15 on a single sandwich though. Listen, everything about this place was fine. Including the sandwich itself (I got the Adult Club cuz I love me some chicken salad, but I should've asked to have the bread toasted... it really wasn't all that sourdoughy in taste either??). I just can't quite get over the amount it cost. Which I guess might be why there aren't any prices listed on the menu signs. Like, my hubbie and I DIDN'T get drinks or chips or a side or dessert. None of that. Just a sandwich for the each of us and it was $30. If we had added stuff, I bet we'd've run the bill up to $50 in no time. For lunch! Gotta be trippin'! I like supporting small local business when I can but I think this place isn't in my budget. Sorry. :( But the employees were nice, the ambiance was cool, the tables were clean, large selection of drinks, very tempting looking desserts, even ice cream, and a community board. If money isn't a concern that factors into your decisions, absolutely patronize this joint. I'll just be jealous.

The owner and staff are all great; greeting everyone and happily answering questions. You might initially gawk at the price for a sandwich but they are worth it and could easily be 2 meals for most people. Beyond the sandwiches they've got rotating sweet treats and deli salads that are fantastic. Legit some of the best coleslaw I've ever had. My favorite thing is the dutch crunch bread they get special made for the shop. It's impossible to find around here and the slight sweetness and texture add something special to each hoagie. If you're looking for a locally-owned deli to grab lunch from this is one I highly recommend.

It's more of a grab and go spot, unless you're fortunate enough snag one of the six cozy bar seats that overlook the busy intersection. The menus are not posted online yet, but they have about 8-10 sandwiches, all on the same Patisserie 46 rolls, as well as a few sides and a kids menu. My friend and I each ordered the Wesley and our sandwiches were ready within minutes. Unfortunately, my order came out as the Eddie rather than the Wesley, but it sounded good so I just went with it. The staff was beyond generous and ended up making the Wesley for me anyways. The Eddie was good, not great. It comes with bacon, turkey, avocado, tomato, lettuce and chipotle mayo. The chipotle mayo was so tasty with subtle heat, and the roll was nice and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. My only complaint was the meat - the turkey was slightly tough and the bacon was served like a cold cut which didn't allow for much texture differentiation or flavor. The avocado was ripe and creamy and the tomatoes were juicy and fresh. I wonder if cooked/crispy bacon would make a difference in flavor and texture? And then just better cuts of that turkey would have elevated the Eddie in my opinion. Keeping in mind that they just opened, I would not count Little Bird off my list, but I do think there are plenty of other good sandwich shops to check out in Minneapolis as well.
