I happened to find myself in Bear Valley around lunchtime, and if you know the area, there aren't too many healthier lunch options. That being said, I rolled into Panera and ordered the Grilled Chicken BLT (hold the avocado). It came with a small bag of chips and a pickle. For my drink, I went with the Strawberry Basil Lemon Fresca. The sandwich was simple, but good. The bread was spot on, and the chicken wasn't your typical thin slice--it was nice, thick pieces with visible seasoning you could actually taste. The produce was fresh, crisp, and added a perfect crunch. The drink was really refreshing--light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Honestly, I should have gone for the bigger size. The restaurant itself was clean and well-staffed, and everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. All in all, a solid lunch stop in Bear Valley. read more

Nothing and I mean nothing can make me hate Panera bread they have the best sandwiches ever and their desserts their service is always fast and friendly, and they don't have any homeless people hanging out in front of the restaurant like the Panera bread in Victorville on Amargosa (I don't know if that's something that is out of their control) at that location. truly wanted to like this Panera location, but I've been treated with disrespect more than once -- and I can say with complete confidence that I've done nothing to deserve it. About a month ago, I reported to management that someone was using my Sip Club ID without my permission. Instead of being helped, I was blamed and told it was my responsibility to confront whoever was using it -- even though that's unsafe and clearly not my job. I let that go, hoping it was an isolated incident. Unfortunately, today proved it wasn't. As someone who visits the Hesperia Panera nearly every day, I've always tried to be a polite, loyal customer. I have a bad back and hips, so I park as close as possible to the entrance -- usually in the same spot if it's open. That small routine is part of what makes my mornings peaceful: a close parking space, a cup of coffee, and a few minutes watching YouTube before I start my day. Today, while parked in my usual spot -- fully within the lines and without touching or endangering any car -- an employee came outside during business hours and confronted me angrily. She accused me of parking too close to her car, even though there was plenty of space between us. Another employee stood nearby as if to "protect" her, which made the whole situation feel intimidating and unnecessary. She even told me that I park next to her "every day," as if that were something wrong or disrespectful -- which makes no sense. I simply park in the safest and closest available spot to minimize the pain from my back and hips. I've never damaged or even come close to another vehicle. The photos I took show this clearly. What made it worse was that this all happened while she was on the clock -- representing Panera. Instead of treating a regular, paying customer with respect, she chose to make me feel uncomfortable and attacked for no reason. Employees should not park in the best customer spots, and they definitely shouldn't confront or blame customers for simply parking correctly. It's disappointing and unprofessional. I love Panera's food and atmosphere, but experiences like this make me think twice about returning. Please train your staff to treat customers with basic respect -- and to remember that kindness goes a long way. I'll give this location one more chance, but if this happens again, I'll be contacting corporate directly. read more

My eldest daughter had her orchestra class the other evening. Prior to class, she was thirsty and we didn't have water in the car. We had 13 mins to spare so I drove to Panera to get some water. We went through drive-thru. Exterior looked well maintained. We couldn't just get water so we also got 1 half Grilled Chicken & Avo BLT sandwich + chips and 1 frozen strawberry lemonade plus the 2 waters. There were a couple cars in front of us so wait wasn't too long. Funny, I just realized I didn't give them my phone number to add my order for rewards. Oh well... I guess it wasn't meant to happen. Anyway, staff was super friendly at the window. We got our order fairly quickly. Thank you! Unfortunately, the Grilled Chicken & Avo BLT did not have any taste to it. It looked good, but it was bland. It was almost like the chicken wasn't even there LOL. We haven't eaten the chips yet, but I can't imagine it being not great, but who knows. The frozen strawberry lemonade was disappointing as well. It tasted like raw unsweetened strawberries blended with ice only. We did not taste any lemonade in it. Water was the highlight. I am very disappointed. This location was the better of the two until the manager allowed the homeless community to take it over. With the economy, it's been challenging to make ends meet. It is a "luxury" now for working families to eat out even in a "fast food" type setting. Something has changed with this location. It was good then recently it's gotten very bad and I only see management to blame. While I was there, I saw homeless come in which isn't unusual. But when they STAY longer than an average guest and then have their buddies come in to refill their large camping jugs with free ice and soda when others like me have paid is unsettling. The staff just looked on.... I would have preferred to talk to the manager, but nobody picks up the phone, so I am left with hoping the manager and/or their boss reads this. They need to take a firm stance on ANYONE overstaying their welcome. The situation can quickly transform the space into an encampment vs. a family environment. I literally saw this man with a black tank top and black backpack get under the table multiple times and nothing was done. He would leave for a minute and then return. This location belongs to the homeless and is no place for you to take your family. As I was leaving the restaurant, I saw a hit and run in the Aldi's parking lot. I later discovered there is an entire homeless encampment behind Aldis. It's not safe there for anyone. read more

Pay for food they don't give you. This is the second time I've been to this location and they've given me the wrong order. I had to wait 20 minutes in the dive thru and ask the cashier twice if everything was okay with my order, only to drive home and find out that I was missing items. It's unacceptable that they charge you for something, that you wait, and then even after you've paid for it, they still don't give it to you. I will not drive Back to get a bagel. And if you're thinking of calling, good luck with that. I prefer to lose that money than waste my time. read more

Panera's newest location in the HD isn't likely a place I'll be back to very soon. The cafe was pretty busy when I went around lunchtime, but it wasn't too loud. Staff is very friendly, and service is quick. There is plenty of parking, and they do have a drive through with a mobile order lane. The biggest disappointment is the food. The menu items are very overpriced for what you get. The sandwiches actually taste good (Napa Almond Chicken Salad and Mediterranean Veggie), but that's if you actually get a bite with something other than bread. The same goes for the Green Goddess Cobb Salad - it was served with a minuscule amount of dressing, so I was eating plain lettuce for the most part. Unfortunately, my order was mobile, so I didn't see this until I got home. Portion sizes would be fine if they fixed these quality issues. Sadly, this seems to be a trend with Panera, hence the 2-star rating. Given the prices and quality, this isn't somewhere I'd recommend. read more

We love this place and today's visit was another reason why! Always kind, friendly, professional service, good food at a reasonable price, and a welcoming, comfortable, bright dining room. Today a few ultra nice people helped us but Fidelvia really shined. There was a problem with a gift card that I had received and she tried so hard to make it right and when she couldn't, she compensated and took good care of us. Ordered a you pick two and was disappointed with the serving size for the sandwich. The sandwich was so small it's as if they gave the smallest slice they could find. I have ordered from multiple locations and never had this issue. How to describe Panera food.... The best that I can think of is "the default setting." I won't factor in some issues I had with the service. It's a new location and most of the staff are still learning their jobs. Everyone was pleasant, friendly, and did their job; I have no complaints about them. The food is just stunningly flavorless. It's airport food, only far less expensive. This is my first stop at a Panera in five years or so. I used to be a fan of theirs. They tried to live up to the good food made fast ideal. It is nothing like that anymore. I wouldn't call the food gross, just incredibly bland. It seems as if Panera has become a distributor of 3D printer produced food. Ambiance 5 stars. It was exactly what I had anticipated from a Panera. Service 6 stars. Above and beyond. Something happened to me which I have not seen in a long time. The shift manager, a young lady, I forgot her name saw me order from the Kiosk. After I made a few steps, she was about 15 feet away from me busily taking care of Panera business, blurted out a number. I didn't know she was talking to me. It was the code to use the restroom. She had the intuitiveness to know I would need the code before I even knew I needed it! I can't tell you how this small gesture made my day. I thought this act of kindness was extinct! Panera is really lucky to have her. Congrats to her parents for teaching her to be a wonderful human being. I proceeded to receive my order in a legitimate amount of time. I came in about 40 minutes ago and we were greeted with a smile by someone who was cleaning up the cafe! It was sweet and welcoming. My grandpa, my baby & I ordered at the Kiosk and the food was ready in a timely manner. I almost forgot to order a fruit cup so i did so at the register, another girl who helped us out, grabbed it for me from the grab & go and it accidentally opened up and spilled everywhere, she went above and beyond to make a fresh one in the back for us. I don't recommend this location for anyone wanting Quick Service in a Drive-Thru. Both my wife and I have sip Club memberships and tend to visit Panera very often. This location has always been super slow in its drive-thru with none to very few cars in front of us. There is a lack of urgency with anyone working in the Drive-Thru and today was no better. If your lunch time is limited this place is not your place for lunch times. Waiting at an order window for 5 minutes or more and then again at the service window before they acknowledge you, only just then to have them start your order when it's only two drinks... it's just not acceptable by any standards. Suggestion to management is to place more competent people for your drive-thru people with service skills. To be paying today's California $20 an hour rate for people in this service industry and not having the proper service is not acceptable. read more

Went yesterday to get two bagels... they only had 3 different flavors. Everything, cinnamon, and chocolate. We got the last everything bagel and cinnamon bagel. Paid and waited about 20 mins for them to get toasted. When they called my name, they said they were out of stock of the bagels that i ordered. I told them i watched them take my bagels to the back, so what happened?? They said they were just out of stock. So i got in line again and had the manager give me a refund. I asked her what had happened to my bagels? Cause i watched the girl go to the back with them. I got the name from the receipt, so im assuming the manager is Jasmine. She gave me an attitude and said "they burned okay!" This was around 2pm, so im confused on how they were so short on bagels. What a disappointment!!!! My first pick up order and it went completely sideways. Despite being notified by text that my order was ready and waiting in the pick up section, it was nowhere to be found and I had to wait for someone to grab the two items. I also would like to know what happened to the fresh breads at Panera. It usually looks like a bakery with at least a few choices of fresh breads. This looked like a friend's kitchen with lots of unfortunate attempts at making bread in a bread maker. I don't need to come to Panera for bread I can buy in the regular grocery stores. read more
