My first experience was with an online order where there was an issue in their system. I have to give credit to the manager for reaching out by text and phone to explain what happened. I appreciated the communication and follow-up. Unfortunately, my experience today around 1:00 PM was very disappointing. I walked in to place a to-go order for dessert for dinner tonight. The restaurant was nearly empty. The host greeted me, and I explained that I wanted to place a to-go order. Instead of offering me a menu or asking what I needed, he walked to the back to speak with another employee. I stood there waiting for several minutes without anyone assisting me. Then another group of guests walked in 5-10 minutes after me, and the host immediately gave them a menu and seated them while I was still standing there. Another employee came over and spoke with the host, but I was still not acknowledged. By the time the host finally asked how he could help me, I was frustrated and simply said "never mind" and left. A host sets the tone for the entire guest experience. Basic customer service means acknowledging guests, asking how you can help, and making everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel valued as a customer today. There are plenty of restaurants in this shopping area that appreciate their guests, so I will be taking my business elsewhere.
