Remember when I said they always forget something? My significant other offered to go to Panera for me. I love their chicken and wild rice soup so I asked for a bowl of that and a baguette. I figured that would hit the spot on this cold snowy winter day. He brought it back and low and behold, there was not one piece of rice in my soup. Not one. I did call the restaurant and let them know. Did they offer me anything to compensate my ruined lunch? No. She just said she will have to go check the back. Yeah you do that lady. How do you have chicken and wild rice soup without the wild rice? It's not cheap either. It was over $10. I really need to stop going to Panera. At least the baguette was a good size. read more

I realize my reviews are pretty much the same from location to location but Panera is pretty much the same from location to location.  My individual reviews from restaurant to restaurant will only differ slightly. I am always surprised to see less than a perfect rating here especially since they have plenty of procedures and policies to follow and all there team members have always been extremely pleasant and helpful. Like all chain restaurants there is a specific model they follow.   I like the one that Panera uses.   There restaurants are always bright, cheerful and very clean.  Condiment stations are always checked and cleaned and tables are constantly being maintained.  The Old Country Rd., Westbury is just a few minutes from my home and one one of my home-base locations I like the way that you order from one area, given a buzzer so you can find a seat and relax, then get called to pick up your meal.  As usual, the team member taking our order was extremely cordial and helped us through a couple of modifications with ease.  That's a really good trait of any restaurant these days given so many dietary restrictions of patrons.   The staff here was friendly and responsive. I think Panera is doing an outstanding job making their customers feel safe even as the covid restriction's have eased up.  It's nice to see that all team members are still wearing masks.  This is not the same in all chains, but in Panera it is.  KUDOS to the team here, I know it's not easy. As always the food was extremely fresh and very well prepared.  Five stars for the Chicken Noodle Soup and my wife's Asian Salad salad looked great and she is always very happy with it.  I just love the creamy chicken soup with wild rice and today I pared it with the Toasted Chicken Frontega sandwich which was outstanding.   I always love trying new things and Panera certainly offers new items regularly and has made me a lifetime customer.  I always look forward to a Panera visit regardless of the location. read more

I went for supper and was looking forward to trying one of those new Asiago bagel stacks; the kid behind the counter told me that they had run out of those kind of bagels. How the hell can you have an Asiago bagel stacks and not have the bagel listed? I eventually settled for a Frontega chicken sandwich but with sourdough bread as they had also run out of their usual bread. The sandwich fell apart halfway through; I would've given a lower rating but the chili was great. read more

Went in for a quick stop after our flight. We love Panera and go to many locations at home. I've never seen a manager walk around like this one. Checking on customers, straightening up but he was actually coaching his employees when they had a minute. 2 week's ago I ordered a cobb salad, and received a 1/2 sandwich as advertised, along with sides. I was very pleased with portions. Today I repeated the order, and received what was 1/4 the size of the salad, and 1/2 sandwich with a bread heal. I brought to the attention of the manager, and she replied that the order takers enter orders differently, and that all things have a designed portioned measurement. This location is awful! Staff is rude and lazy. It totally reflects that in the quality of food served. Mine and my husbands salads were awful. Meat fatty, they forgot veggies on salad, rotten lettuce. Couldn't eat, threw the whole thing out. Sandwich my husband ordered was wrong and nasty as well. The only thing correct was the kids Mac and cheese (not much to mess up there) yet it was freezing cold for our kiddo. Typically we only eat out when we travel for military travel and we're no strangers to Panera when doing so. It was the most disgusting salads we ate. Bathrooms were nasty. We eat at our local Panera in East Greenbush but I will never come back to this one on Wolf Road! Reasons I will not come back here for breakfast: Breakfast sandwich always wrong: asked for over easy but got fully cooked even after sending back once. Additionally the brioche always looks like Simone sat on them and smushed them. Makes me think definitely not baked here! Hot chocolate tastes like water and looks gross! Attitude when you ask for help: there is no one in line and only two other couples in the dining room and I get an eye roll and huff when I ask about something. Parking here is awful. The cleanliness factor in the dining room...and bathroom...is sub-par. The food is just average Panera quality. I'm just not feeling the Panera love these days. There were a couple of bright spots - the kid that delivered food to the table was very pleasant. Then, that same young man was spotted actually sweeping (the really dirty floor) in the dining area. I realize that patrons can be pretty disgusting...leaving crumbs, straw wrappers and sometimes partially eaten meals on the floors and tables. That said...management needs to pay attention to just how bad the grime factor gets and try to keep up on the general public's sloppiness. The garbage was almost completely full and the dishes were piled extraordinarily high on top of said garbage cans. Precariously perched. Not in a huge rush back to this...or any...Panera in the near future. read more

Writing a review for a Panera seems a little redundant, so I never have. I'm a fan of Panera and like that it's fast casual, but also healthy and if I choose to dine in the dining rooms at Panera, a pleasant enough atmosphere is provided. The Wolf Road location is my favorite local location because it's never overly crowded, it's cleaner(a lot cleaner than the one closest to me) then most of the other locations, and the staff here is always friendly and helpful. I once had someone grab another employee to take my food to my car for me because I was carrying an infant. So I went to this Panera last night, and one of the sandwiches I ordered had a hair in it. Yucky, sure. However things like this happen, and they happen everywhere. I'm not all that uptight about it. Just replace what I have with something hairless. The manager on duty was extremely apologetic and tried multiple times to refund what I paid. I refused and told her it was ok, and that I just wanted a new grilled cheese. She then offered dessert, coffee, basically anything she could offer. This might seem like something management should do in this case, but you would be surprised how many times I've been met with disbelief or arguments from the people in charge when I find something wrong with what I've ordered. I should mention I dissect my food when dining out so I've had some experience with things being flag worthy. I once left a restaurant because my water had a dust ball in it. Hair, I can understand. A dust ball.. where does that even come from?? The food at this Panera is the same as it is at any other location but the service stands out in a positive way to me. Also, they usually have baguettes. I love the baguette option with soup and it's such a downer when I go to pick up my soup and some flimsy country bread is on the plate. Came here for a late lunch after my flight landed in Albany and was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality--here's why. I surpassed the line at the counter by ordering at the iPad station with my Panera card (which I had never done before!) It was easy to figure out and I picked up a buzzer number expecting to be summoned to the counter when my food was ready. To my surprise, someone came over with my food within 5 minutes of me finding a table. I got the You Pick 2 with the Baja Mac & Cheese and the Half Modern Caprese Sandwich. It was my first time getting this combo since Panera redid these recipes and my tastebuds were delighted! The Caprese sandwich was so flavorful and I felt healthier eating the Mac because of all the veggies sprinkled on top. I just wish Panera gave more food for the amount it costs for a You Pick 2. read more

This otherwise decent little Panera, with a drive-thru and a small outside patio in the back, is marred by the ultimate insult, which is the Trader Joe's in the adjoining strip mall. Today we watched three different people park in this parking lot and head over to TJ's, which accounts for why one can now never find parking at this Panera's. Now throw in this divine madness: the only way to get out of the Panera's strip mall is to go out the one and only way to the TJ's lot! It's true! The worst parking lot in Albany now that Honest Weight has moved is even worse than it has to be because it's draining traffic from another set of stores. The lady at the cookie counter gave my kids separate bags for their cookies and automatically, without being asked, stuffed them with napkins, which nearly takes this Panera back into four-star territory. Then on the way out we got gridlocked (not making this up) trying to take a left out of the parking lot into the other parking lot. Madness! Madness! read more

I would not recommend ever going to this location. The place is filthy, None of the tables are wiped down, if you want to sit at a booth be ready to wipe it yourself or sit with the last person's crumbs. Last time I was there I was given a dirty spoon with my soup - I'm not talking water spots, this thing had actual dried food all over it! Looks like the last customer had tomato soup...I asked for another spoon and was given a second one that was also covered in dried food!!! Got the manager and the best he could do was offer a clean spoon after a 5 min wait for him to find it. No attempt to make it right beyond that....terrible customer service!! If I could give half a star, I would. Worst service at a Panera that I have ever gotten except for the hot guy that made my meal. I ordered a You Pick Two with the Roasted turkey avocado BLT, asking for the whole thing to be toasted. The surely cashier kept asking if I wanted things on the side, when I clearly said I wanted everything toasted. When I got my sandwich, it was not in fact toasted and it tasted like dog shit. I do not recommend this place, but I do recommend the hot guy that made my food. He's a solid 8 out of 10. I later found out I was supposed to be given a choice of an apple, bread or chips. Another employee advised me of that, and brought an apple, but my entire party of three were not given the choice. I have been at this location a few times. I usually only get coffee or tea. The last time I was here at 3pm, the hot water was lukewarm at best. My friend got coffee but they didn't have the hazelnut which is what she wanted. She was told to pick from whatever was left. And 'whatever was left' was also old. Today, I decided to get steel cut oatmeal. Well, I found a plastic bag in the oatmeal. I Asked the manager if the oatmeal comes in a plastic bag (which would explain why there was a plastic bag in the oatmeal). His response, "not that kind of bag." I've been to this Panera Bread many times and loved it, but after this last visit today, I don't think I'll be coming back. After placing my order at the drive thru, I was told to pull up to the window and the door was open to see into the back. While driving by I heard the workers mocking me and my order. I let it go at the time because I didn't think it was worth it. Now after seeing the way my food came to me, I'm not letting it go. The Mac and cheese doesn't look creamy the way it's normally served, and the lettuce in my chicken caesar salad is yellow. I don't know what it is about Panera, but my order is never right. I ordered the Pick 2 through the drive through and got broccoli cheddar soup and half of a frontera chicken sandwich. When I opened the bag up only the soup was in there, but I was charged for the sandwich as well. We had to pull over so I could go back in. The staff was very nice, however half of the meal is a pretty big thing to miss. read more

Panera food is standard across all locations, so little time will be spent on it. It's nice you can eat relatively healthy fresh items at Panera. They have a really cool calculator on their website so you can see what removing things from salads or changing breads on sandwiches does to calories and fat etc. I would say food is 4 stars. It is a shade expensive though. Only added note here is watch the sodium and fat by checking online, some items are seriously overloaded with one, the other, or both. This Panera is not much different than any other. Some negatives to this location- I can get very crowded, parking lot as well, be careful! read more

Panera doesn't seem to care when orders get messed up. On 03/16/18 I pre-ordered clam chowder and toasted cheese. The process messed up the pickup time as the site kept kicking me out. I had to call to make sure the pickup time was later on in the day and not right away. When I got there to pickup my food at the stated time, they didn't have it ready. After a few minutes they gave me my order. The chowder was gritty, the toasted cheese tasted like it set out an hour or two. Called corporate and told them. Dispite apologies from corporate, no one from the local restaurant called me back. There ya go! read more

Wish I could add to the other reviews of clean, fast and friendly. None of those were true on my visit (late afternoon Sunday 7/8). I frequent other Panera locations, so I know what to expect. I did not expect to see tables that needed wiping down and stacks of dirty dishes. I did not expect to be sold iced coffee when there wasn't any. I notified the sandwich-making staff that the big dispenser was empty, they told me there would be more in "5 minutes" and yet it was never refilled in the hour or more I was there. I saw 2 other patrons attempt to fill their cups, so obviously the guy up front taking orders didn't know or didn't care. Finally a smart patron put an empty cup over the spigot so we would all know we would not be able to enjoy the (usually delicious) iced coffee that day. My friend ordered a sandwich, they prepared the wrong sandwich, and when she politely asked for the right one the sandwich guy just grabbed the wrong one off her plate and told her to 'wait a minute.' He did quickly make her a new one, but was pretty gruff about it. When I ordered my food, the cashier didn't hand me the receipt, just let it fall onto the counter. I picked it up to check for any accumulated rewards as a mypanera member. When I *politely" said "oh darn, no rewards today" he said "what's the problem?" Maybe he just hadn't heard me, but I am used to the cashiers letting me know about rewards one way or the other and asking if I want the receipt or not, not just letting them accumulate all over the counter. My food was fine. I had iced tea - though I really wanted that iced coffee. My friends food was fine once she got the right sandwich. We sat outside away from the dirty tables and stacks of dishes. It just wasn't the friendly coffee shop I have experienced in Wilton, Clifton Park, Queensbury and other Northeast locations. It was not at all busy, maybe 6 other parties besides ours. The location is convenient but it will be a while before I want to eat at this particular Panera again. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. I've always had a delightful experience with the cashiers and the people who bring food to your table. I love getting the French baguette nice and fresh, which they generally have a decent turn around time for that. I love their bagels. Way way better than bruggers. I suggest signing up for the Panera rewards cards. I've had a free month of coffees every day and bagels every day too. Can't complain!! Clean bathrooms, plenty of parking up front and in back, there's a drive thru at this location which I haven't used, but it always gets good business. I've never had a bad experience at Panera until I went to this location. I ordered Mac n cheese and an Italian combo sandwhich. I took a bite of the sandwhich and the bread was extremely hard, and stale . It was made up of 2 pieces of salami and a piece of lettuce. I went up to the counter thinking they had given me the wrong sandwhich. Turns out they changed the Italian combo to just that. The employee at the counter told me to "at least try it." I left the counter upset and sat back down to eat the rest of my meal. I took a bite of my Mac n cheese and it had ICE CHIPS in it. No more Panera for me read more

This is the worst Panera in the area that I've been to. Staff (with the exception of one person) all seem to be high school drop outs who may or may not be high and who can't get an order straight. I've been served food on dirty plates with crumbs on it, dirty silver wear, or I've had my food practically thrown at me over the counter. My order has been cold or messed up on more than one occasion. Food is actually pretty overpriced considering most of it isn't as fresh as they claim. It is a health alternative to McDonalds or something other than a sit down dinner. They don't bring the food to your table like other Panera locations either and management is seriously lacking. I've stood around waiting to order while there were 5 employees behind the counter. They all looked at me (a manager included) and never came over to take my order until I had to ask. I've brought these concerns to corporate who didn't really seem to care. I don't plan on patronizing this particular location, I prefer the one on New Scotland Ave. read more
