    St. Louis Bread Co

Since Panera originates from STL and only goes by St. Louis Bread Co. in this area, I obviously had to visit one while I was passing through STL! It is the exact same interior decor and menu as any other Panera, so not much to say here other than that LOL! I just really enjoyed seeing the name of the restaurant be "St. Louis Bread Co" in the Panera font and it was a perfect spot to stop for breakfast before our long road trip back home!

Ok. So how do you go to STL BREAD Company and they not have BREAD? Drove through for quick (?) Sunday morning at 9:30am for a breakfast bite. Wanted Sausage and Egg on Ciabatta. Server indicated they didn't have sausage, nor did they have Ciabattas? Huh? I thought this was BREAD Company?

I am not a local and was passing by so I got a Turkey BLT avocado sandwich meal, a drink and a blueberry scone. They forget my blueberry scone and I had to go back inside and ask the cashier for it. No biggy. I checked my bag again before driving away and yes, there's a sandwich and a bag of chips. 30mn later, as I am already passed Saint Louis I find out that the sandwich wasn't my the Turkey Avicado I had ordered but some kind of weird sandwich with Turkey and thousand island (I am guessing) with some kind of sweet bread. It was disgusting. I called that place and asked them to refund my credit card as I am not driving back to Collinsville for it. The manager acknowledged their mistake and told me they had swap my sandwich with someone else by mistake. She said she cannot reimburse my credit card (which I don't know why? As far as I know if you have a system to charge a credit card, you have the capacity to do a refund), but she offered to send me a voucher to reimburse me. I didn't want to make it hard so I agreed and gave her my address. When I received the voucher I didn't know wether this was a joke or not. She had sent me a voucher for a free drink!?! I paid over $11 for that sandwich alone and she sends me a voucher for a drink not to exceed $6 !?! This is not only ridiculous, it's not far from conning people. I tried to call them 5 times already but no one picked up. I live 6 hrs away so going confronting that manager is not doable, but I will be traveling down that way again soon, and yes, I will go in. This is horrible customer service. Conning people is not the way to run a business at all. Better open your sandwiches' wrappers and check before leaving since obviously this location is unable to simply give the right sandwich to the right customer and when they make a mistake, they would acknowledge it but only give you a lousy free drink voucher for your $12

No cheese? Had to go back for it

My experience was OK the cooks get upset when you ask for things that were not on the salad such as the two I ordered did not have feta cheese as shown in the picture. Sometimes they don't have the best attitude but they give you a good amount of lettuce and food as long as all the ingredients are there!

All four of us got something different (I think one was a blueberry beer of some sort... but don't quote me on that), and all the drinks were so good, that we had to pass them around for the other others to try! Ended up going down the menu and ordering another one for each of us, so we got to try eight drinks in total and all of them were epic! The bartender was super sweet, and right there, even though the establishment was pretty busy, as soon as one glass got down to 1/4, he'd come by and ask if we were ready for another, but wasn't intrusive as much as just making sure we were OK and seeing if we needed anything. He was there and gone in a flash, as I think, he thought that since we were two couples, he didn't want to interrupt any conversations, but wanted to make sure we were taken care of. We made sure to tip him well. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were fantastic, especially for a late evening out at an establishment that serves liquor, it felt like a high-quality establishment, but in no way did we feel out of place, nor were we made to feel out of place. If anything is the exact opposite. The bartender made it where it was very warm and welcoming in a good place to socialize for us. We will definitely be back! Next time and time to try the food too!

I've been a lot of places, but the country girl in me remains. So when I saw the mason glasses on the table I knew I was about to eat good. The menu was straight to the point (they have hummus) and that makes me feel like you're sharing your favorite dishes consistently. The drink menu is extensive (because it's a distillery) and there are so many unique things you can try. I had the blackberry lemon press and it was yummy. We also had the sloppy fries, smash burgers (one with signature bacon jam), onion rings, cheesecake, and carrot cake. It was all very flavorful. They have a store attached if you want to take some drinks home & they have a virgin menu for your Christian friends. The dining room is well lit and you can eat outside on good weather days. Even in bad weather days, it's a nice view outside with only glass between you and outdoors. Staff were great and service was timely. I would say the food is cooked to order & you don't need to tell them how to prepare a burger. It comes out juicy and medium well to perfection. They also have a BBQ kick to the ketchup they serve. Oh, there's a Rte 66 sign around the corner if you're just passing through (but I get the sense they know if you're not from around those parts). I hope your dining experience is as good as mine was!

I got the Spicy Strawberry Mushroom plate - crispy shittake mushrooms with slightly sweet sauce and peanuts served with white rice. So good!!!! If you're someone who likes variety at breakfast, the Sunday buffet is a really good deal. I enjoy having multiple breakfast items, and that kind of variety usually gets expensive if you order à la carte at other restaurants. Because of that, the buffet feels like a huge savings. Everything on the buffet was hot and well stocked. The biscuits are more like canned, layered biscuits, but they're still good. We especially liked the gravy, biscuits, sausage patties, bacon, chicken strips, pancakes, and hash browns. The eggs were standard scrambled eggs and mixed in well with everything else. The only awkward part of the buffet is getting to it. You have to walk down a narrow hallway past the kitchen, which can feel a little uncomfortable when people are passing each other. Because of that, I'd recommend sitting in the buffet area if possible--it just makes things easier. On our third visit, we tried the burgers and sandwiches, and they were really good. The burger reminded me of a classic drive-in style burger. I ordered the mushroom Swiss, and while it was solid, I wish they offered an aioli or more savory mayo option. That said, it was still very good with the mayo packet they provide. The bun was pillowy soft, the burger was tender, and it held together well without falling apart. My fiancé ordered the pork tenderloin and said it was good, though I can't speak much on it myself. The fries were cooked well. One small downside for me was the upcharge for choosing a side other than chips. Chips work fine with a sandwich, but for burgers, I wish there were more included options unless the restaurant makes their own chips. That's more of a personal preference than a dealbreaker. Overall, we've really enjoyed the food and have already been back several times. I can definitely see us returning. With the current cost of eating out, this place feels like a good value--especially the Sunday buffet. The gift card deal they're running is also a nice bonus.

It kind of makes it a hidden treasure and I'm glad that I found it. My visit was during a Saturday lunch and I was impressed. I started my meal with Fried Spring Rolls filled with vegetables and served Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. They were a thin crisp shell, that still gave a nice crunch when bitten into. The sauce was a accompaniment. For an entree I chose, Drunken Noodles and added Beef for my protein. I was torn between Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodle and when I asked my server, she said their most popular dish was Drunken Noodles. Then when I went to add my protein it was between chicken and beef. She said beef was her favorite add, so I went with her recommendation. Once my entree arrived to the table I was surprised by its size. It was huge. It was so big, it could have been a meal for two. Guess who had leftovers for lunch the next day. The noodles were flavorful and lots of tender beef and had plenty of veggies. My spice level was 3 out of 5 and I still was sweating along my hairline. Next visit I may have to scale back to a two. The service was attentive and the young lady who was my server, had a bubbly personality. I also had a young man who brought me my order, checked on me and I wasn't even his table.
