Jason, (the manager) is hands down one of the best people I've ever dealt with at any business. He was so kind, caring & truly went the extra mile to make my experience a positive one. I order from this location everyday, because the food is so good. After this experience, I have to say the customer service is even better. His level of customer service is rare . He's genuinely such a nice guy & goes above & beyond without being asked. He actually cares about the customer experience. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, & it shows. The food is good, but they are slow. Extremely slow. If you are in a rush maybe consider going to another place because it takes a very long time to get your food. This might on my part of ignorance of how long it takes them, but this is fast food. It shouldn't take more than 20 minutes for my food to be ready. Went to Panera at lunch today, ordered a soup. While I was waiting at the counter, I saw some orange scones at the register. There was no pricing on the bags of scones as you will see in the pictures. They were displayed on the counter between the registers in a wire rack, next to bags of choc chip cookies and individual cookies (one was pumpkin shaped; I don't recall the other). None of those four items had prices on them, but the standing sign right next to them listed only those four specific items, with prices. Orange scone $ 3.99. I selected a bag, he ran my card and I didn't take a receipt. When I asked the clerk to repeat what he said, he said it was $9.39. I picked up the sign, showed it to the clerk and told him the scones should be $3.99. He told me that was for one individual scone. The one he was referring to, was behind the glass case, on a stand, several feet to the right of the sign, along with other bakery goods. I went through with the transaction only because I used my debit card and had already been rung up, but in my opinion this was clearly deceptively false advertising. The SIPP club is bringing in a ton of homeless men to Panera restaurants. For those of you not familiar with the SIPP club, you pay a significantly reduced rate for a certain time period (month, quarter, annual) and you get all the drinks you can drink (coffee, tea, soda, iced tea and iced coffee, lemonade, etc.) I've been in the Bohemia and the Patchogue locations and more and more men are signing up, bringing in their own food, and getting their free drinks. They smell. They sit for hours. I've even seen one of the men use the soda station to wet down paper towels and wipe down his entire body. NO joke. I would think you'd see this at McDonalds, not Panera. Seriously disgusting and management does nothing to stop it. read more

I used to come to this location all the time a few years ago, and then it just kind of fell off for me. Today I decided to go back and give it a go, and I can say it'll be the last time I go to Panera. The broccoli & cheddar soup that used to be great tasted bland and like it was poured out of a can...the chipotle chicken sandwich tasted exactly like a low end pre wrapped sandwich you'd get at the airport. And the baguette bread did not taste fresh and light at all like it used to. It seems like the quality has gone way down & the prices have gone up. Honestly I hate to admit this but when I'm jonesin' for some Broccoli Cheddar soup... Panera is the place I immediately think of. Once in a blue moon I crave their French Onion soup but more times than not I get the Broccoli Cheddar soup. This location was the original Panera I used to go to before they started popping up everywhere and I mean everywhere. So yes it's still Panera but this location has gotten a little odd if you will. First things first.... I don't understand the ordering from the kiosk or your table but maybe it's because I like interacting with people? I mean don't get me wrong Rapid Pick Up & Online Ordering make a group order almost impossible to screw up and super easy to order for everyone. So although my mom and I were standing online waiting for a live person to help us someone asked if we needed help with the kiosk? Wait... huh?! We weren't even looking at the kiosks. Secondly... we were eating in and Panera is known for giving you actual silverware. Unfortunately I had to go up and ask for a spoon since the spoon they gave me was plastic and had schmutz on it. I'm sorry I'm picky sometimes but it looked like it had food on it. Gross! At first the employees seemed a little hesitant to give me a regular spoon so I asked for a plastic one. At that point I wanted a spoon free of the food on it and I didn't care what it was. As long as I got a clean spoon I was getting very hungry. Finally... I don't know what was wrong but it sounded like a loud PA system humming the whole time we were there. Unfortunately for us it was super empty in Panera that day and all we heard was the hum. Oh well such is life. My French Onion soup was good and my mom's Broccoli Cheddar as she said "good. It warmed me up." We also split a really good cookie. I think it was a gluten conscious triple chocolate cookie with walnuts. Neither one of us is gluten conscious but this was an awesome cookie! Will I be back? Maybe? Quality control at Bohemia location has gone downhill over past year & a half. Sandwiches are put together in a sloppy manner & soup is often not hot enough. Staff also cleans the entire floor well before closing so unless you like the smell of cleaning strong solution while you eat, don't go there within an hour before closing. Management does not care about the customer experience or safety (sloppy wet floors that you need to navigate to exit the restaurant & proper food temperatures). Corporate needs to train the Manager at this site on how to interact with the public and loyal customers. She does not get it! There are other places where you can get a nutritious meal and feel appreciated as a dedicated customer. read more

Although i do think this chain is a bit overrated, you need to order the right things and make it work for you. get the Iced green tea but, stay away from their chipotle chicken sandwich I hate the fake smoky taste. Now, getting down to the specifics, at the core of this place is a manager named (let's say "Judy." "Judy" doesn't care about you, your food, your comfort, or your satisfaction. Judy is in the wrong line of work, and Judy deserves to be unemployed, and not compensated. I went in today to order a sandwich, a simple task to some... this all went down hill the moment I stepped up to the register, placing my order a minute later than my girlfriend; I order a mozzarella panini but, wanted to add chicken (which I have done a half a million times before) for some reason this was confusing, and a big problem.. apparently a "no-no" but she could put some on the side... gee thanks would ya? So, anyway, the girl comes back, drops my green tea, and I am left waiting... WAITING as my girlfriend finishes what she has ordered and they have simply NOT made my sandwich. OK so I ask the fella what's up.. and what happens? JUDY asks the kid, what my problem is... I went today with my boyfriend and it's a totally different experience than I remembered. Granted, it's nothing life changing and the food will not be even close to the best of anything you've ever had. But now, you order at a kiosk, and you can customize everything. Then, You no longer have to wait at a counter like at the deli, someone brings you your food. And it's served on nice glass plates and bowls. Lunch and stuff. I haven't really been a big fan of Panera - mostly because the one in New Hyde Park seemed sketchy to me. That being said, I was bored and looking for something on the lighter side for lunch and took a shot at Panera again. This location does a BANGING lunch business. There was a line about 10 deep and I was going to pass on waiting but it seemed to be moving quickly- they had 3 registers going - so I hung in there. I was able to place my order relatively quickly and had my lunch and was off to eat in a few minutes. I went with a BBQ Chicken salad and it was the perfect size for lunch - toss in a nice piece of bread and you cannot go wrong. It hit the spot and after getting back to work, I looked over their menu online and was surprised to see a lot of interesting choices. I will definitely try them again. I was there yesterday Feb 7 and ordered the oriental salad and it came without sesame seeds, wonton noodles and hardly any chicken or almond slices. I went to the counter and asked for the ingredients that were missing and the guy working there had a nasty attitude and handed me a small amount of wontons. Patchogue (store 204671) cannot seem to get an order right. Ordered salads, soups and sandwiches three times over the last month. For some odd reason (obviously nobody reads a ticket) my wife simply asks for Romaine lettuce only on her salad. It comes up in the customized order printout online as well as the printed ticket. Since I'm picking it up, it's difficult to see in the dark car what kind of lettuce they put on her salad. (I really shouldn't have to check)They put every kind of lettuce BUT Romaine. Today was the third time they did it....I called the store to complain, after being put on hold for ten minutes, a nasty manager comes on and says that next time I come in just mention it and they'll give me another salad. I wanted it right the first three times, I don't want to take the chance again in having them screw it up. He said they write these things in a book so they have a record of it. This is my go to healthy lunch spot near my office. I love the rapid pick up, makes it so convenient if I am just grabbing lunch to bring back or meeting someone here. The line at lunch is a hit or miss. Sometimes its 10 people deep, other times its out the door so rapid pick up is a must for me. Every once in a while I get a Panera craving. I have been going to the Bohemia location for years now. During prime time this place gets packed!!...I normally avoid going during busy times. I have had issues in the past with orders being wrong...but during my last few visits to Panera in Bohemia the workers have really stepped their game up. I love the new addition to the restaurant where I don't need to stand at the pickup counter looking like a hawk as the trays of food get made up. Now the food gets delivered straight to the table which is a nice little add on. So basically Panera is like any other chain, I am NEVER overly impressed because it's not special or unique if you will. I can't appreciate a chain like I would any other food establishment because chains don't have that special touch. The food here is fresh to an extent, and quickly prepared. There are a plethora of drink options and many baked goods to choose from. I think Panera can get very pricey so I suggest becoming a rewards member (completely free and I've used coupons and I've gotten free pastries/bagels at times). All and all Panera is Panera...a great place to come and enjoy some broccoli and cheddar soup every once in a while but I wouldn't choose this over a local sandwich shop or deli. read more

This is one of the only non- "fast food burger" places to eat near where I work, but I haven't been back in a while. The fact that my lunch break is only 30 minutes makes it difficult when it's crowded. Today, it was wide open - and I got to see a lot of new (healthier) items on the Panera menu! Very happy about that. I tried the Quinoa salad with chicken added ($1 extra), and it was DELICIOUS. Of course, I feel sort of ridiculous paying $11 for a salad, but honestly - this was a full meal. They added a generous layer of sliced chicken across the top, and the crunchy almonds and tart olives really added to the wonderful flavor combination in this salad. No idea what kind of dressing that was (it was yummy!) but I was glad they put two containers in there for me... it was just right for that large salad. Next time I go, I'm going to try one of those Thai broth bowls.... sounds great! As always, props to the server for putting utensils and napkins in the bag with my to-go order.
