I must say this panera in the hills was a great location but is understaffed. A Sunday night with piles of orders and only 2 staff on counter with one on cashier. The disappointment I had visiting this location is the soda machines where were broken and then being out of popular items like bread bowl and many items. With that be in g said please keep the favorites in stock and keep that homie feel that Panera is known for. If cooperate is seeing this and can get hot chocolate on the sup club, I thank you for that. read more

I decided to order some Panera Bread for lunch. It was an easy experience for me. The website was easy to navigate but a little slow and laggy. Despite that I placed my order and chose an ASAP pickup time so that it would be prepared quickly. This worked out perfectly. I drove up to the restaurant, parked, and walked into the restaurant. As I approached the entrance I noticed some outdoor seating. The inside of the restaurant is clean and bright with several places to sit. I noticed that there was a coffee bar, a rapid pickup area, a track your order listed on a sceen, and an area with fountain drinks. I checked the rapid pickup area and my order was there. I just grabbed it and left. It was a quick and easy experience. The food was okay. I ordered a chicken noodle soup bread bowl. The soup came in a small container. The bread bowl was a good size. I liked the soup. The noodles were big and the chicken chunks were a decent size. It also had good sized cut carrots. The soup and bread combination made a filling meal. I also ordered the Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich which comes with smoked chicken, BBQ sauce, red onions, and white cheddar on a ciabatta bread. I could taste all of the ingredients. The chicken was spread out but could have had a little bit more. The BBQ sauce was flavorful. The onions were supposed to be in the sandwich but I didn't get much of them in my sandwich. The few that I could taste were good. The cheese was melted to the bread but it also felt like the sandwich could have used more cheese. So I think that the sandwich could have had more ingredients packed into it. It was flavorful despite not having as many ingredients as I would have liked. The sandwich came with kettle cooked potato chips and they were crispy. Overall the ordering and pick up process was fairly easy. The food was filling but it could have included more ingredients. Placed an online order for the Smoky Buffalo Chicken Melt on a toasted baguette. The sandwich was warm and flavorful, and the bread had a nice crunch to it. However, the filling felt a bit light -- more bread than anything else. Would've loved a bit more balance there. Pickup was smooth, though I had a hard time getting through by phone earlier. Not a huge issue this time, but something to keep in mind if you need to reach them directly. Overall, still a solid option for a quick meal. They brought the four cheese soufflé back! I'm not sure if this was true for all locations, but it was discontinued for a little while. Super disappointing. The amount of food I received for my $50 was laughable. The sandwich had one little sliver of ham. The "bowl" sized soup portion filled about a coffee cup. The salad was more like a little side salad from a fast food drive through. This was so expensive for the quality, but at least if portions were reasonable, I could excuse it. It was mostly bread with a little bit of chipotle sauce on it. For the prices going up, it is extremely disappointing the amount of food given. After looking at other reviews, it seems this is common at this location. As much as I like and frequent Panera, I will not be returning to this location. Good service, good food. I like being part of the rewards club. And this location has a nice patio. But what made this visit stand out is this is the first time I'm seeing the kettle chips in this new bag. I assume they are the same chips. Calorie count is the same as the chips from Panera I'm familiar with. But I haven't eaten them yet because the sandwich filled me up. This location provides prompt "rapid-pick-up" with my regular orders. The seasonal salads -Goddess, Thai, and Asian are fresh and plentiful. We place 1/2 orders unless we want to save salads for the next day because the are HUGE portions. Even some terribly under staffed locations were always considerate and understanding when dealing with me but this place always has hiccups with costumer service and orders. When I'm at a meeting and there's a Panera Bread bagel platter, I'm all over it, because the cranberry bagel is really good. But the two times I've come here for a soup/sandwich combo I've left thinking, what's the etymology of the word "meh," because it just wasn't all that great. The teenage staff is cool, it helps to know what you want, and the space seems larger than it is. I really can't remember what I ordered the first time I was here. Today's half-turkey combo was okay, but the French Onion soup was like a can of Campbell's condensed stuff, tweaked without any water. It does feel hearty. And finally, this particular arena of bistro-type breakfast/lunch chains has got to be a tricky maze to maneuver: It has to be more substantial than a drive-through, faster than full-blown wait service, but enticing enough without feeling overpriced. Yes, Panera Bread is formulaic. From menu to inside layout, every store and experience is totally predictable. But sometimes predictable is good when all you want is some decent food, a cup of coffee, and some free wi-fi. I seem to have a habit of winding up here after a certain early medical appointment. I always get their Bacon & Egg sandwich on an Asiago Cheese bagel, so I'm pretty predictable, too. The food's always very good and hits the spot. The coffee can be either great or crap, but that's more determined by my picking a roast I really don't like and am disappointed by it. My bad. But the free wi-fi is always fast and on target. Service is fast and polite here, and the dining area, while busy enough to sustain operations, is never terribly crowded. There's a small patio outside that's nice when the weather cooperates. One thing I want to mention--and applaud--is Panera's hiring practices. After having been to several locations in Austin and other nearby cities, it's really obvious they make a very conscious effort to hire without preference to race or sexual preference. That's kind of cool in and of itself, and worth rewarding by bringing my business to Panera. read more

You can't go wrong with Panera. I have trouble choosing what I want because everything is fantastic here! My new favorite is the Asian Sesame Chicken salad. The dressing is light and tangy and fantastic! I usually pair that with the Frontega Chicken sandwich... also incredible. The bread flavorful and the cheese, chicken, onions and tomato taste SO GOOD! I've been to a lot of Paneras and always had good experiences, but never have I had an experience as great as this! On top of the food, our waiter CT was such a delight. He was friendly, funny, and quick to serve. He represents the absolute best of what I hope to see in restaurant staff.
