I really like Panera and specifically this location. I eat there every morning during the week. The food is always fantastic. I really like the staff they are professional and quick. My order is always right which is really becoming a rare thing these days. I have read good things about the sourcing and quality of the ingredients they use and the company receives high marks for that. Finally I really like the smartphone app and the ability to pay with Apple Pay. It's just super-convenient to order and pay from my driveway and then walk in and pick it up. Just superb. Bad experience overall. I came at 8am for coffee and a bagel and they were out of coffee and didn't have any reduced fat cream cheese. The coffee was never made during the 10 minutes I was there. Quite frankly I should have asked for a refund but didn't have the time. Wow! I totally understand the other bad reviews. I frequent the Panera in Duluth, off Sugarloaf Pkwy, and absolutely love them. This location, in Alpharetta, always ring up my order incorrectly and forgets items. I am very particular but I feel that I should get what I want and how I like it if I am paying. The people are always nice but the service, itself, could be much, much better. They forgot to include a bag of chips in my bag this morning but I don't plan to visit this location again. It is not about the chips. It is about "always" ringing up my order wrong and forgetting items. I have to repeat my order so many times at the register. I placed an online order to be picked up at this location earlier. This experience made it pretty clear I cannot rely on the website to present an accurate inventory. During the ordering process, I had to replace a sandwich due to the cart page stating it was out-of-stock. It seemed like if I was being prompted for a substitution at that point, I figured I could count on everything else to be fulfilled without issues. Of the 4 items included in the processed order (2 sandwiches, a soup, and a bagel), EVERYTHING else had undesired substitutions (a salad, a different soup, and macaroni). The e-mail receipt noted that "should an issue occur, we'll do our best to replace, substitute or work with you on arrival to adjust the order to your liking." The staff didn't bother to consult me regarding their proposed substitutions. They simply put everything in the bag I picked up, failed to contact me at the phone number associated with my account, or even note the substitutions on the packing slip. Thankfully, when I went back to confront them about the order, they were willing to make things right and refunded the entire order without much hassle. I will probably avoid ordering online with Panera going forward. read more

Stopped in to get a quick to go order & so I placed my order on the kiosk for a "rapid pick-up" order. I saw my name instantly appear on the board as being prepared. Over 20 minutes later I asked where my order was and apparently somehow it disappeared and they couldn't find my order anywhere. They made the order on the spot and still didn't have it fully correct. I think it's cool these restaurants are allowing for faster ordering, but if they're not keeping them in order or the system isn't working it shouldn't be implemented. read more

Ordered a breakfast sandwich and two bagels to go. Took 20 minutes. Each item came out separately, sandwich first. Each in a separate bag so by the time we left our sandwich was cold and we had a landfill's worth of paper bags.... and one wrong bagel, one without butter. As each item came out and I told the sassy kid behind the counter we were missing items, he'd say "yeah, she's making that and it will come out separately." I don't know their system and I don't care to know it, but he acted like I was supposed to expect my food to come out in parts and pieces and incorrect. My name disappeared on the order board and when I tried to point this out to the lady handling orders I was dismissed. I waited another five minutes pointing out to her again I do not have my order. She acknowledges maybe someone took the order and has another salad made. Then tells me we made you a large salad I pointed out to her "I paid for a large salad." Then she says "Oh I was trying to be nice." Not necessarily the best thing to say when I've had to wait 20 minutes for a salad. A simple sorry for the mistake would be nice and expected. read more

I haven't had Panera in years so I figured I'd give it a try today. Ordered the 1/2 turkey apple sandwich and Mac n cheese. They were our of the cranberry bread so I asked for a whole wheat. The bread edges were so hard I can barely bite through them. I ended up taking the bread off the sandwich and eating the sandwich with a fork. In general, I'm a fan of Panera. But I'm afraid that this time my observations are going to be less than appreciative. First of all, I've never stood in line so long for a cup of hot chocolate. The *only* register in operation allowed the *only* fellow in front of me to take half an hour to order a goddamned cinnamon roll. He appeared to be playing twenty questions about everything else in the cabinet. When I finally got to order, the cashier simply said, "You been waiting a long time." And to her credit, she turned around to immediately make my cup of hot chocolate, which I didn't know was finished, and so it sat there for a while, all by itself, until I returned to ask if it was mine, and the cashier says, "I called, but it must have been too loud in here." And the hot chocolate is kinda weak. And getting into the wifi is annoying. But there's probably not a whole lot to do about that. read more

I have no problems generally with Panera Bread. There are locations that do a good job. But this unit should be shut down by the company. My one-star experience began (April 6 at 6:30 PM) with an order-taker who was never taught to say please or thank you. (How do such rude, joyless people get these customer-facing jobs? Don't they get the slightest bit of company training in the most basic rudiments of service? Doesn't the company ever do site visits to check on service levels? What the hell is the difficulty in saying so much as "welcome" or "thank you for your order"? ) Then the one star extended to the boring and flavorless Asian Chicken Salad. And further with a turkey panini sandwich with crusted bread that was so tough and over cooked (microwave?) that my wife was unable to cut through the bread with a knife. I should have returned it all for a complete refund. But then I reminded myself that I'd have to deal with the order-taker yet again. Not worth the frustration. read more

I order a take out to pick up at the restaurant. I went in and ask the person behind the counter where are the pick up she show me and gave me my package. I looked in and I notice my drink wasn't there.I went to the cash resiger and ask if the total included my drink. She said no l requested that wanted a drink and also a cholate cookies .While standing there alone form I paid for my cookies and drink and ask for a straw. A person came up to me with a straw then reach for my bag and said didn't pay for your food. I looked at him in disbelief what ! It became a public spectacle.I was shock l said am the cashier. Panera Bread has really gone downhill! They used to have good fresh-tasting salads and sandwiches and soups. However the chicken Ceasar I had today was horrible. There was nothing Caesar about it. The salad dressing was barely existent the chicken I learned had been Citrus marinated. What does that have to do with a caesar salad? I told him it tasted funny so they made it with the only other chick in the head which was smoked. That was no better. I went to Panera Bread this morning. Another customer was ordering a dozen of bagels and she asked the cashier, Kristie Myles, can she slice them for her, Kristie rolled her eyes, let out a big sigh, and acted as if the customer was inconveniencing her. When it was my time to order, I pointed to the picture and said I want exactly this (bagel with egg and bacon). Just received bagel and egg went back up to let her know. The cashier Kristie Myles started yelling at me and said THAT IS WHAT I ORDERED and tried to argue with me. I told her she was extremely rude and asked to speak with a manager. The manager, Jay Mcghee was super nice. I let him know she honestly should not be working with the public, her behavior was totally unacceptable and inappropriate down right disrespectful to say the least. She seems like a really miserable human being and does not need to work with the public what so ever. I typically NEVER complain, but this is unacceptable at every level. read more

Had ordered food from our office lunch and when we picked it up and brought it back to our office we realized that the food was not labeled as to what it was - had to open sandwiches and smell soups to see what it was -. When I called to give them my review the manager seemed to put the blame back on us saying when we had placed the order we should have asked for names to be put in the bags. And the sandwiches were labeled...hmm... they were NOT. BTW none of the bags had spoons or forks. Quite honestly the attitude of the manager put us off totally. Perfect serving of salad dressing, wonton strips make the perfect crunch! Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Soba Chicken Noodle Bowl, Hibiscus Tea with one shot of cane syrup, stuff modern casual dining is made of. Working a lot? This location is dreadful. The only reason I frequent here is because it's convenient. About 3-5 minutes from home. Today will be my last visit. I'd rather drive 15 minutes out of the way than come to this terrible place. The past say...6 times I've been here they've gotten my order wrong. I always order to go. I normally catch the mistake before I leave the location, but I've had to drive back to the restaurant almost every time because they screw up and I miss the mistake. And the worst thing about it is the staff could care less. No eye contact, no apologies, nothing. They just give me what I'm missing and go along like they did nothing wrong. Too many examples on why they are awful and kinda uneducated. But just a couple of examples: On more than one occasion... They seem to not know how to read a ticket. I always ask for a BOWL of soup (I paid the upcharge). I get a cup almost every single time. I've learned to check that before I leave the restaurant. Again, I ask for a BOWL of soup, and then they try to give me a Bread Bowl. No no, that's not what I ordered dim wit. I ask for a salad, I get the wrong salad. I ask for a salad another time...I don't get dressing. I ask for an extra baguette (and paid for it), but nope! No baguette for me! If an order is incorrect, I will literally stand in front of the counter and I will be ignored by the whole staff even though it's obvious that I need something. Completely oblivious. The straw that broke the camel's back was today: All the stuff is inept, but this particularly lady today...I almost created a scene. When I checked my to go bag it didn't seem like anything was missing EXCEPT for my extra baguette, which I received and I went home (wasn't surprised). Came home, looked in my salad, no dressing. It's just dressing, but it's a detail that they shouldn't have missed. I went back to the restaurant to get some, went to the counter and this old frizzy brown haired lady and the manager were the 2 people behind the counter. They were joking around with one another. The manager didn't acknowledge my existence, but the old caucasian frizzy lady did (she was working around 4-5pm today. She needs to be fired.) I was clearly unhappy. I asked for the dressing and said that the staff has been messing up a lot lately and I'm upset. It's a huge inconvenience to come back to the restaurant after I've already gotten home. She just put the dressing on the counter turned away and started laughing loudly with the manager. How inconsiderate can you be?? I almost went behind the counter, and started to yell out every possible insult I could think of. At least make some eye contact and say you're sorry. I was going to ask for a fresh re-do on the salad, but honestly she'd be the type to spit in it so I left well enough alone. NEVER RETURNING EVER. Awful service. Awful staff. Rude. Inconsiderate. Uneducated. Selfish. For lack of a better word...Assholes. If it was one or two mistakes, I'd let it slide, because everyone has a slip up every now and again. But the mistakes were too frequent and consistent. And that's just for me. One person! I can't imagine how many mistakes they make per day. Do yourself a favor and go to another location! read more

I really enjoy going to this Panera Bread for lunch. They have decent salads, good bread, and friendly staff. There have been some occasions when I have found dirty tables, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that one due to the fact that I usually come in around the tail end of the lunch rush. By the time I get in there, they usually have the place about 3/4 full, but they are slowly declining in people. I have been to many Panera Bread sites and the service at this location was the worst at any Panera I've been to. I ordered several items for Rapid Pick-Up. After ordering, the site said my food would be ready by 10:00am. Arrived there about 10:04 and went to the Rapid Pick-Up area and could not find my order. A young lady asked me if she could help me and I told her I was there for my food which should have been ready at 10:00. She disappeared for a couple minutes and then came back and told me they were still preparing my meal. While waiting, I looked at the reviews of this location on Yelp. I noticed that they had several unflattering reviews. I have never been to another Panera for Rapid Pick-Up and my food wasn't ready. This was a first. I saw a lady with a manager tag on and asked her about my order. She told me it would be ready soon. I told her that she needed to look at the reviews of her place as they were not good. She looked kind of surprised and gave me a curt thank you. No apology. My food was more than 15 minutes late. I would not recommend this Panera restaurant to anyone. read more

I am in medica sales and use Paneras across the southeast for catering almost every single week. I will NO longer use them due to the unprofessional catering manager in the northern Atlanta area, Wes Hendrix. Not only did I NOT receive a callback with assistance for a delivery order website mistake but he waited until the DAY OF my meeting to email me that he was too busy! It was IMPOSSIBLE to book anyone else this late and IF he would've called me back the day I called him I would've been able to find another company. Instead I had to PAY to get on an earlier standby flight so I could pick it up - which was out of my way - and deliver it MYSELF! I placed an online to go order for lunch for 5 people on Thursday, 4/27/17. When I arrived I noticed the long line and I was so happy I ordered online. As I waited, I begin noticing people that were in line were picking up their food and I began to wonder what the heck has happened to my order. I inquired about my order and I was told they were working on it. As I waited another patron was inquiring about her online to go order she had made at 10:30 am for 12:30 pm pick up. Then I begin to see people that had entered Panera and ordered their food after I had inquired about my order were beginning to pick up their food before my order was completed. Again I inquired about my order and I felt I was being brushed off with it's being prepared. 55 minutes after my order was placed, and no one in line, our order was finally completed. And oh by the way, the lady for the 12:30 pick up was still waiting at 1 PM. The barbecue chicken flatbread sandwich was delicious. I will never go back to Panera for lunch again! read more

Myself and 3 of my co-workers placed a phone order on Friday October the 16th. Each of our debit cards were charged immediately! Unfortunately we had called it in to the wrong location, so the manager at the Woodstock store called Alpharetta to cancel our orders. We were told everything was taken care of and the charges would not process trough our banks. On Monday morning however the charges did all process through each of our banks. We called and spoke to the GM at the Alpharetta who told us it was completely out of his hands and that we would have to contact the customer care center. Which we did. A WEEK later we still have not received our refunds, can get no help from ANYONE anywhere and keep being told that it's basically our problem with our banks!!!! We have each contacted our banks and we're told that NO effort to return any funds has been made by Panera! Sorry Panera,,, you're Alpharetta store has cost you several loyal customers. I have never been treated so poorly by a manager. My husband is a restaurant GM and is absolutely appalled by the "customer service" we have been show !! read more
