Some food trucks earn legendary status long before you ever get to eat there. That was Soul Lotta…read moreEmpanadas for me. I'd spotted their truck at community festivals and events more times than I can count, but every single time there was a line...and every single time my impatience won. Until one beautiful Friday evening in July. For the first time ever, Soul Lotta Empanadas and I found ourselves in the same place without a crowd standing between us. This was my moment! The hardest part wasn't waiting. It was deciding what to order. Their menu is packed with creative empanadas and, if I'm being honest, I wanted approximately all of them. After a solid internal debate, I landed on the Crab Rangoon Empanada, the Cheesesteak Empanada and a cup of their Street Corn, mostly because I saw someone else walking around with it and immediately developed food envy. A few minutes later, I was handed my basket of empanadas and my cup of street corn. I was absolutely starving, so naturally the Crab Rangoon Empanada got first dibs. And it absolutely lived up to the hype I'd built up in my head! The filling was rich, creamy and packed with flavor. Everything I love about crab rangoon was there, just wrapped inside a perfectly fried empanada instead of a tiny wonton. Honestly, this might be my preferred crab rangoon delivery system now. Why eat eight little rangoons when you can eat one giant one? The Cheesesteak Empanada was just as generously stuffed. Plenty of flavorful filling, plenty of cheese and another excellent choice. If I had to order again tomorrow, I'd happily get either one without hesitation! Then there was the street corn. It was a little different than what I'm used to, leaning more tangy and bright than rich and creamy, but I actually really enjoyed that! It was topped with crushed Cheetos, which honestly made me smile before I even took the first bite. It also made one thing very clear...I had ordered entirely too much food. The empanadas disappeared, but the street corn came home with me. And sometime around the middle of the night, I found myself standing in my kitchen finishing it cold and straight from the cup like a feral raccoon. No regrets! If you see Soul Lotta Empanadas at a festival and there's a line, wait. Trust me! I spent way too long letting long lines scare me away, and now I know they were worth waiting in all along. My only problem now? I've got my eye on those Apple Cobbler dessert empanadas. Looks like I'm going to have to track this food truck down again before summer ends. And this time...I'm ordering dessert first!

The other ones we tried were also great. But the key, must-have ingredient is their sauce! A combination of sweet - kinda like an orange chicken sauce - and bbq flavor. It is SOOO good you'll want to keep buying more.

I have had a lot of tacos in my life--all the way down in Texas, Los Angeles (which I personally…read morethink has the best tacos), Washington D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida--so I know my tacos pretty well. Recently, I decided to stop at a taco joint that I'd seen on the side of the road. Of course I was excited, because it's a taco truck! The setup is very nice; they have seating in the back and also in the front. You can also get drinks, which is great (and I'm talking about regular sodas, not the ones that make you feel a little funny and wake up the spirits). However, I was focusing on the tacos. I ordered three and tried the lingua and shredded chicken. I must say, they did give me an authentic taco using two corn tortillas, which tasted amazing and paired perfectly with a fresh, glass-bottle Coca-Cola, of course. As I sat and indulged in the taco, I first ate the meat by itself to taste it, and I must say it was bland and unseasoned. Then I continued to eat the rest of the tacos, and let's just say the sauce made up for it. So, if you ask me, "Would you stop there to get a taco again?" Probably not. But if it were the end of the world, I would stop here and eat the tacos--I just wouldn't go out of my way. The place is very convenient, though: there's parking right out front, and the tacos come out very fast. I hope my review helps you choose where to get your tacos next! The Potato Coop has quickly earned a spot on my must-visit list in Harrisburg and it's all thanks…read moreto their fresh cut fries. These things are the real deal. Topped with a perfect amount of cheese sauce, just the right hit of Old Bay, and a nice touch of chives, they absolutely deliver. My one suggestion? Skip the butter. It's unnecessary and ends up making the fries soggy, which is a shame when the fries themselves are this good. We also tried the crab fries, and while the crab meat isn't lump, it's still a solid topping. Just make sure they warm it up, because ours came out cold straight from the fridge sitting on top of hot fries. A small fix that would make a big difference. Now, the hot dog... I'd steer clear. It's deep fried, and mine came out burnt and dry. To make matters worse, it was served on a steak roll that was cold and tough. It just doesn't hold up to the star of the show. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars, and honestly that rating is carried by how incredible those fries are. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'm skipping the hot dog and going straight for more fries and maybe giving their burger a shot.

I do think their prices are little pricey, but trust me it's worth it! You get a big amount of food and more importantly it is so yummy! My only regret is not trying a load of potato, which will definitely be next on my list!

I had the double Patty smash burger with bacon and it was one of the best burgers I have had. There was also some homemade pickle Chips that were delicious. We split a PB pie. I hope they do coconut pie at some point. My only critique is the burger (all sandwiches) should come with potato chips. Or fries but I am thinking they don't have a fryer there. I didn't mind the price of the burger but the sides were too expensive for me to add. I just wanted something more with that burger. If that burger had Chips would be 5 stars. Highly recommend this place. I look forward to eating there again.

This place started showing up in my social media feeds constantly. All day. Every day. Smoked meat?…read moreI'm listening. Smoked meat and homemade peanut butter pie? In the same building?! Immediate must-try status. I hatched a plan to visit on a chilly January Friday night, knowing they'd recently been selling out of items before their posted 7pm closing time. The target: 5:30pm. Risky enough to feel exciting, early enough to still secure smoked meat. A calculated move. Get Smok'd is located in a strip mall, and when I arrived, most of the front parking spots were full. Brief "oh no" moment...then I snagged a spot from someone pulling out and hustled inside. The dining room was much more spacious than it looked from outside, though many tables were already filled. I stepped up to the counter fully prepared--having studied both the menu and their social media all week in belly-growling anticipation. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with street corn and a fountain soda. Adventure Buddy went with the Lamb Gyro special, coleslaw, and a soda. Total for dinner came in around $40, which felt very reasonable for the amount of food. We timed it perfectly. About 10 minutes after we arrived, a large party of ~20 people walked in and filled a reserved table. More folks followed right behind them and suddenly the place was packed, buzzing, and running low on seats. Lamb Gyro: Fantastic. The smoke really came through on the lamb, and the tzatziki was super cucumber-forward, which Adventure Buddy loved. It was also a generous portion for the price--always appreciated. Street Corn: First off, the presentation was on point. The husk flared out like a little sunburst--very eye-catching. The cook on the corn was perfect, seasoning was just right, and the ear itself was a great size. Goldilocks corn. Coleslaw: This one missed the mark for us. The cabbage itself was fine, but the dressing was very bland and there was a lot of it--bordering on cold coleslaw soup territory. Not our thing, though it might work for some. Pulled Pork Sandwich: The pulled pork? Fabulous. Moist, juicy, perfectly smoky. I paired it with the Lawd That's Good traditional sweet sauce and ate every last bite of the meat. The roll, however, didn't live up to the pork--it felt like an odd mismatch. I skipped the bread and focused on the star of the show. Peanut Butter Pie: I...was not prepared. I did not expect a smoked meat joint to casually deliver one of the best peanut butter desserts I've had in a long time. This isn't a slice--this is a personal peanut butter pie. I'd guess 5-6 inches wide, about 1.5 inches thick, served in its own tin and piled high with whipped cream. This wasn't dessert--this was an entire second meal. At $10, it was worth every single penny, and I seriously debated ordering another. I will absolutely be back just for this pie. Overall, Get Smok'd BBQ earns a solid 5 stars from both me and Adventure Buddy. Friendly staff who checked in, meat smoked to perfection, and a peanut butter pie that completely stole the show. Good lawd! PRO TIP: If you're planning to visit later in the day, check Get Smok'd on social media first. They sell out. Early. Often. Don't waste a trip just to find locked doors and shattered BBQ dreams. This place is hot right now--and very much worth the visit if there's still smoked meat left to be had!
