She got eggdrop soup, and I had a two item platter (chow mein + beef and broccoli and orange chicken), my usual go-to. The orange chicken.. tasted as if it was either old or recooked. The chicken itself was dry and rough when bitten into. Unsure what was up with that. The rest of my order, as well as our eggrolls tasted quite good, so I was happy for that. We've been to this Panda locations a few times and never have any issues with our order. It figures when I order delivery through the app it all went to $hit. The teriyaki chicken was good. However, the broccoli beef not so. I got about 6 decent-sized stalks but with very little beef. I mean 4 small slivers of meat. This was about 815 on a Wednesday night. It was if I ordered super greens. It was barely broccoli beef. Then, I qualified for a reward. All I needed was a plate in my bag. However, the app would not allow me to order a small firecracker shrimp entree. You can't trust the kids working there to fill the styrofoam trays like they would when you're there in person. This is an integrity issue but I don't know if this is the fault of management or the employees. I should know better than to order delivery and I won't after today. Good chinese-inspired food. Noodles are greasy but that's how I love it!! The orange chicken is nice and crunchy. Teriyaki chicken is moist and flavorful. You gotta try the $26 party tray of the spicy wings!! Yummy! Not too crazy about their Mongolian Beef though, they put it over the dry white noodles which makes it taste very stale. Sorry, LONG RANT! Since this establishment was sold to the previous owner's family member, a nephew I believe, this place has poor quality food and service. The owner is rude and arrogant. We have been going here for 20 years and always received good food and very, friendly service. It was always our favorite. Even moving further away, we still ate here. So, I think I know the difference. Since he has owned it, we have only been a handful of times. Once, I asked for 4 hot mustards on a large order. He lectured me on how much it costs him to give me that many! I think to save a dime, lower quality and taste has been the result. Well, last night we decided to give them another chance. Our dumb move. Over the years, I would call in orders for pick up. Now, their phone rolls over to a full voicemail, but they do accept orders through DoorDash. So, I placed an order around 6:40pm; they close at 8pm. I received a confirmation email from DoorDash and left to pick up our order. When I get there, I see one family eating and a child playing games on a phone. I let the woman behind the counter know I am here for a pick up. She looks at me like she has no idea what I am talking about. No smile, nothing. Then, she says something and while I think she is talking to me, she waves me away like, "No, not you!" The little girl runs up and hands her the phone she had been playing games on. The woman asks my name and when I tell her, she looks at the phone and says, "Oh, we don't have some of your order. This is what we have." Her accent is strong, so I am having difficulty understanding her so she did have to repeat herself, but I do know, there is no apologetic tone. There is no, "I'm sorry, we don't have some of your items and that we didn't even know we had an order since my kid was playing games on my business phone!" Just, we don't have your order as she points to mostly empty trays of what looks like leftovers for me to choose from. I said, "My order was confirmed and it would have been nice to know you didn't have my items before I drove here." She then calls the male owner over. He also has a strong accent and I'm trying to fully understand him, but arrogance comes thru in any language and says loudly, "We are almost closing. We don't have your items. If you don't want what we have, then go someplace else" while he waves his arm in the air motioning me to leave. He then asks if I am the Door Dash driver. "I am your customer, the one who placed and paid for the order. So, you cannot make my order?" He responds, "No. What we have is what you can have or you can go someplace else." While again waiving his arm, shooing me away! This is how he speaks to a paying customer, with other paying customers in his restaurant. He doesn't say, " I'm sorry we can't make your order and sorry, we didn't even know you placed an order." I thought I was just picking up a bag of packaged items, not to be shooed out of a restaurant for having the audacity of expecting my order! I was inconveniencing him! He's going to stay open for another 60 minutes hoping someone wants to eat the 5 things he hasn't sold yet. Well, it wasn't gonna be me. As I drove away, I called DoorDash to make sure I received a refund. DoorDash apologized and offered me a $10 credit! I told them they didn't have to do that because they were great. When we walmed in, they were sweeping/mopping the floors getting ready to close...most of the chairs were already atop the tables. My family and I were talking through the slim pickins' of optiins that were left trying to figure out what we were going to get and the staff offered to make whatever it was that we wanted. We are really happy we discovered this place. It's conveniently close to our house, and the food is so good! They give you a ton, too. Big bang for your buck. Seriously, this is two meals. The BBQ pork and teriyaki chicken are bomb. The orange chicken has been hit or miss, so you need to eyeball it first to see (I like mine crunchy), but everything else is consistently yummy! I love that their fried rice actually tastes fried and has veggies in it. The ladies are super nice and we get in and out no matter what time we come. They also have a family combo that comes with a few different meats, rice, and chow mein for something around $27. There is really no beating that price for quick and easy Chinese food. I have came here and have gotten some of the best fresh orange chicken in the area only to come back the next week and have horribly hard inedible tough, stale cuts of meat on all chicken entrees ordered. I know that timing can be everything and unlike most places this place will have a ginormous tub of all their meats unlike most that have a smaller tray of each. I understand this place gets busy but when that tray doesn't sell...it sits and you get the wrath. At most places I have no problem asking them to cook a new tray but how do you ask when there is ten pounds of the old crap in front of you...no wonder you get such huge portions....easily a bare minimum of 3 meals in a 3 item combo that will run you around seven bucks. Bottom line...of you are broke and starving go right at dinner time or lunch and there is a good chance you will score. I keep reading that this is the best Chinese food in Murrieta. Hrmm. Okay. I won't go as far as saying that...yet. I will say that the only similarity between Panda Express and Panda Palace is that it has the word panda in it; otherwise, they are miles apart. For starters, my stomach didn't feel like it was going to implode after eating here. It is a small spot located right next to the Little Caesars (pizza, pizza!), you can't miss the neon sign that reads NO MSG. You can add that yourself with soy sauce, if you so desire. Walking in, the place is covered with red decorations (Happy Chinese New Year!!) and the dining room consists of bar style tables with a television in the corner for your viewing pleasure. I was already ogling over the steam table and heat lamps and if it wasn't for my stomach kicking my spleen, I may have walked out. The cashier, a nice and helpful young lady guided me and my husband through the menu. There's your usual combo meals, a la carte items, and then there's the "cook to order" menu. We ordered the shrimp fried rice and the kung pao shrimp, the latter coming with a side of steamed rice; however, the cashier said we could substitute the rice for noodles. Score! Our food was ready to go in less than 7 minutes and we were on our way. There was enough food for three people and then some. The shrimp entree was in a "Chinese" to go box, while the rice was in a regular sized styrofoam box. Although to the naked eye it may appear that the to go box had less food in it, they really packed the hell out of it. As stated before, three people ate dinner and there's still enough for lunch for one. We'll duke it out later. Okay, okay, the food was delicious!! The shrimp fried rice was soft, not greasy at all and with a fair amount of shrimp. Usually I reach over for the soy sauce, but this time around the rice was so good it didn't need it. Kung pao shrimp was on point, veggies and all. Lightly tossed in sauce with a heaping amounts of zucchini, carrots, and shrimp, it had enough spice to get your buds going without overpowering the rest of the ingredients.
