Panda kitchen has an excellent value for the portion size if you're looking for good Asian with good portions without overspending this is a great spot to visit.

good food, an okay location but really bad customer service. if you want to eat inside they have about 4 tables, but it is a small dining area. good portions too! will go again eventually, but not any time soon.

Local hole in the wall Chinese takeout spot located a few blocks away from Lake Merritt. The service was quick and the food came out hot. They also seemed to have plenty of combo and meal options for under $10 which was nice. The food was good but you're definitely getting what you pay for.

Totally thought this place was closed from the outside until I saw the lit OPEN sign above the open door. Was expecting a Panda Express style fast Chinese food, but was pleasantly surprised that they actually make the combos fresh for you. Tried the chow mein and fried rice (with chicken) and ordered 2 combos for three people because the portions seemed big. The green bean chicken was especially good where the green beans were crisp and fresh. Yum. The pearls in the teas were a little too soft for my taste but the Thai tea was good. The fortune cookies came in a bag for $1 which I thought was decent.

I passed this hole-in-the-wall while I was walking to Lake Merritt and decided to stop inside to get a drink. I ordered a kiwi smoothie, large size, which came out to $6. Probably not the place to go if you wanted an all-natural health fad style smoothie, but if you have a sweet tooth and wanted a sugar rush and don't want to wait long in line, then this would be a good place to go. They do offer food which seems to be at a decent price as well, although I opted not to get lunch or dinner when I stopped by. A quaint and not particularly glamorous spot, but I do find it charming because of that too and it is convenient if you happen to be near Lake Merritt but don't want to head west.

Why are Panda Kitchen Health Records not being recorded, are they avoiding inspections or is there something else I'm missing

This is a hole in the wall spot that I used to frequent this place years ago and the food was actually better and the fried rice actually had vegetables in it... These days the fried rice and chicken smells funny food is inexpensive and cheap, they are in desperate need for a overhaul and upgrade but I doubt that it will ever happen... As long as they can sell us garbage and we accept it they will continue to do it. If you like below mid Chinese food that's cheap and not clean this is for you. The service is what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant nothing special Hurry and buy.

Made fresh to order, portions are hefty and prices are cheap. Good, fast and affordable Chinese food around this area. Highly recommend if you don't want to drive or walk to Chinatown.

Hunan chicken and sweet sour pork both bad even for steam table style Chinese food. It's cheap.

Tasty, cheap and made to order. Great vegetables and the lo mein is not too greasy. A good take out place near the lake.

I usually come with my family, and we order damn near everything on the menu. The aunties serving dishes actually laugh when they see how much food they're dropping off at the table. My favorites are the chili oil wontons, hot and dry noodles, bok choy, and General Tso's chicken. The wontons have just the right amount of heat, the noodles are thicccc and chewy, and every dish somehow manages to disappear before we can even think about leftovers. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything you order. One of my favorite parts is watching them make the noodles by hand. Half the restaurant is dedicated to the noodle-making station, while the other half is for seating. It's not a huge dining room, but they do offer the Yelp Waitlist, so you can check the live wait before heading over. The vibe is very, get your food and head out so they can keep up with table space for incoming guests. Always a hit, never a miss.

When we first walked in, no other diners were there which made me a little suspicious. We were promptly seated and offered hot tea though so we were locked in. I initially ordered to seafood claypot but was told it takes 45 minutes...so pivoted to chicken wonton soup (no noodles). My partner got kung pao chicken. while we waited for our food, a handful of people came in to pick up their to go orders, which made me feel better. Another party eventually dined in as well. Fyi the interior isn't much to write home about but comfortable. Then the food came. My soup was freaking delicious! Loads of chicken meat (just chopped up with the bones so be careful for shards), plenty of dumplings, and the broth was sooo good! I couldn't finish and took some left overs home; the next day, my soup coagulated (full of collagen)!! Partner enjoyed their kung Pao chicken but said they'd order something else next time. Best part - our meals + tax came out to less than $40! Gawd I love Chinatown!

With that said although Yu Yu is located in a pretty sketch area of Oakland/Berkeley, I would still recommend eating here just for its authenticity. They seem to have a parking lot in the back but we manage to find street parking in the front. You're better off looking for parking in the back than the front due to limited spaces. As for the food it was delicious. For the jajangmyeon you are given the noodles separately from the sauce; this allows you to pour in as much or as little as you want. I personally felt their flavors were mild enough that I poured in the whole thing. As for the tang su yook, it comes with a sweet and sour sauce that's bomb dot com. Even as stuffed as I was with the jajangmyeon, I managed to still find it in myself to finish the last bits of the tang su yook. Highly recommend. The restaurant itself seems to be newly renovated; don't let the rough exterior fool you. The inside was nice and clean but they only have room for four large tables that can fit a parties of 6, and the rest range from parties of 2-4. Last but not least service, they seem to run lean and understaffed but the gentlemen working did his best. Just be mindful if you come at a busy time you may have to wait. Overall looking forward to coming back here!

The building itself is so unassuming, you'd never expect a great dim sum place to be here! Came on a Saturday mid-afternoon, and fortunately, did not wait too long for a table. My partner and I definitely ordered TOO much for just us two, but we wanted to try an assortment of things! The standouts were their rice noodle roll w/ crispy shrimp, siumai, and hargow. Their siumai and hargow were so plump and juicy! Usually they're tiny at dim sum spots. Everything else was good as well! We even took some home to our families. My parents really enjoyed their chicken feet too! Service was amazing and fast. They are so kind! I get why Ming's is people's fave.

I asked them to show me what was vegetarian and took special care to note that I cannot eat shellfish. And then I told the guy and he would not refund it because he "told us in advance" even though he circled in Chinese and still allowed me to order it after I just told him I couldn't eat that. So annoying. How do you have that level of incompetence at a restaurant?
