Worst Panda I've ever had. Terrible food. Didn't give half of the items we asked for.

Really bad service . Manager didn't help . She was hiding when I was complaining for the food . They didn't have anything on the line . The line super dirty , employees arguing each other . The lobby really dirty . It looks like they don't care about the business. We had a party of 12 people. No wonder they have 2 stars. Hopefully the owner do something with this location. read more

Ok, so we all know we're not getting gourmet Asian food here. My one star review has to do with picking up an online order. My work gives me 30 minutes for lunch, so I am constantly ordering online and picking up my food, to maximize my time. I've ordered from a dozen places in town, and NEVER had this happen to me. I placed my order, and when it was ready, drove to pick it up. According to their website you simply "walk to the register and say 'mobile order for Tom'", which I did. The cashier asked me "do you have your receipt?" My phone is currently being repaired, so of course I didn't. I explained that, and the cashier simply said "I have to see the receipt". I offered to show him my identification, with my picture and name, but this wasn't enough. So my only option was to drive ALL the way back home, pick up my laptop, get in the car, and drive back. I walked in and held my laptop screen to the cashier. Of course, I still had to scroll down to prove it really was me. The cashier handed me my food, and without apology, said "I hope you can see things from our point of view?" I wasn't sure how to reply. I again asked him why he just couldn't look at my driver's license, only to hear "we have to see the receipt". Fool me once, shame on you. if you are looking for great costumer service, this is NOT the panda to support. i was practically dying of hunger so I popped into this panda express expecting Fresh, hot food Chinese and of course great customer service. What I received was an attitude from Leanne when i asked her to swap out The portion of Beijing beef she threw on my plate( it was the left over veggies) when i asked her if it was fine if i waited for fresh beef she loudly screamed "UHHHHHHH i didnt give you only vegetables" and refused to let ME wait for MY food. Sharon was extremely slow, rude, and completely lacked any sense of customer service. Given that employees are being paid pretty well, I would think they'd be a bit more on it. They allowed someone to walk out with a $55 family meal, that I ordered online, then told me I must have made the order for delivery.. when clearly my email conformation is for online Pickup by me.. They demanded that I call home to see if my order was delivered- in which I live far away in the country outside of delivery for most things. Embarrassing to have to call, or even be upset infront of several customers in the store.. when they let my food be stolen. To add insult to injury they continued to fill other online orders, and many of the 10+ customers they had inside the store.. and didn't even try to fill my order while I waited. I do not know any of the workers at this Panda location. But I did notice some unneeded behavior from the assistant manager Juan. The one with the furry mustache. I guess they were out of change and all Isabel was trying to do was find a solution. He gave her attitude and mentioned that by any means there was no change, he said both boxes didn't have money. Isabel started crying and I told her that she was okay. As soon I walked in this location she greeted me and made me feel welcome. She is a phenomenal worker. It sucks that you get to witness this stupid behavior from a person that is supposed to be leading the team. read more

I can't believe I never yelped this place; either that or I gave this location a such hideous rating that my Yelp was removed from the website. Anyway this is the second or third time I have been here and today the place was good. Perhaps the other trips were so notable that I lost interest in Yelping the business. The food is really...average. The unfortunate thing about chains is that location quality tends to vary. At this one, the food didn't taste fresh, and the quality was just poor. I did an order online which is probably what you should shoot for if you want a speedy meal. All in all, I was pretty disappointed. I get panda for a meal that is filling,tasty, and fulfilling!! Waited in line, food waited on the conveyor area behind the glass to be rung up. I dined in; the Kung Pao chicken was lukewarm & chewy. I brought it back to the counter and asked for something in exchange-- and I was told by Gwyn, "No"! I thought she was joking because- wtf? But she was serious. There was no manager available, as I looked at the name tags of the people available, and the line was out the door so, out of courtesy for the other patrons, I didn't press the issue. *Update* I'm updating my review but I'm not adding any stars. Someone from Panda Express corporate reached out to me via private message and apologized and mailed me four $10 vouchers to use at Panda. I really appreciate them making the effort to make things right, unfortunately it didn't help, it only solidified my opinion on this location. My family went to this location today to use our $40 in vouchers. Service was SLOW and RUDE right off the bat. There were 4 employees working the cooking area toward the back and only ONE person working the serving line. The serving line employee REPEATEDLY had to call for a cashier. No one came and none of the other employees who were standing around helped her. I have NO idea what they were doing just standing there and ignoring her. She ended up also having to ring us up. And of course, did not know at all how to use the vouchers we were given. She kept telling us they had a zero balance. We had never used them! We had to go back and forth on that with her several times. Someone finally came to help her and they figured it out amongst themselves. By the time they finally rang us up completely, they had a line OUT THE DOOR. No teamwork whatsoever. On top of this, none of us enjoyed our food. My food, for example, was cold and chewy/stale. We are done here. I absolutely do not recommend. -------------------------------------------- Just got done canceling a large catering order I placed on May 3rd for pick up tomorrow (May 19th). I placed the order online. While I did receive a confirmation number upon completing my order, I never did receive an email receipt, which was concerning. Then, the money for the order was taken out of my account.... and then the transaction disappeared from my account like it never happened and the money was put back into my account ... This order was for my son's graduation party tomorrow. I have been calling this location since Thursday, May 10th trying to get them to confirm whether or not they received my order. The first time I called, I actually spoke to a friendly person who explained to me that the store does not receive the order in their system until the week before the order is being picked up. I thanked her and said I'd call back Monday to confirm. I gave them until Tuesday and I called again. This time I got someone else who was rude and condescending. She claimed that the store does not receive the order until the night before the order is due for pick up. That is not what I was told before and I kind of felt like she didn't even look. She said they didn't have my order yet. So, I called again today. It is now the day before the order is due for pick up. Whoever answered the phone had a thick accent and the biggest attitude of all. She also says they don't have the order. I asked to speak to a manager and she, I kid you not, told me NO!! We argued and she finally said a manager was not there. She actually said they didn't have a manager at first too. Then she finally said, when I wouldn't back down, that one MIGHT be there around 1. I could see that my order was still open and active on my Panda Express account. Why they do not have my order is confusing to me. I even called the CORPORATE office and waited on hold 15 minutes for no one to answer. This is too much work. Order is cancelled and now I'll scramble for food for the party tomorrow all to not have to deal with this BS. Unorganized, unacceptable! You lost a big order! Please be careful when you charge . They will charge you for things you don't know. The serving lady serving the food is like a punishment for yourself . If she doesn't want to sell to you then why do you have to come here. There are many places to serve customers and value customers many time more than this place. I'm mad at myself for stopping at this location again. They are always out of items and all I hear is, "It will only take two minutes". Today on the way to work I stop to get a bowl (1side 1 entree) stand in line for 10 minutes until my turn .... again out of mixed vegetables. I say, hi to the employee, Payton, she ignores me and turns to a co-worker and says, "I just love your eyes. There such a beautiful color." Finally Payton acknowledges I there and with nasty tone, "what can I get you." I ask if they preparing mixed vegs? "No. It will take 2 minutes. I mean 5 minutes." Where ever you go Panda is Panda, same food and taste. The only different is the service. The Panda here in Manteca by Costco, the service is bad. The line gets soo long and ridiculous. I waited in line for half an hour. I've been here multiple times and they only have ONE person that takes your order and serve your food at the same time. They should have a couple of workers that work the line. One to take the order and write it on the box and another one to serve it and another to run the register. I came in excited to order a bowl of chow mein with honey walnut shrimp. What should have been a quick 5-10 minute trip to this restaurant easily turned into about 30-45 minutes due to the incompetence of this worker. It never occurred to me to check the reviews for this establishment as I only wanted a quick bite to eat but to my dismay that quick bite turned into a frustrating waiting game just to get my order taken. The fun doesn't end there though folks, once I was able to order my chow mein with honey walnut shrimp, I see the worker not only tell me that the shrimp would cost an extra 1.25 (which I was more than aware of as I have been to other Panda Expresses) but also counting how many shrimp were given. She counted 7 before I asked if she could give me extra and said sorry but we can only give a maximum of 7 pieces, mind you the pot had plenty of shrimp in it so she easily could have given me more as I was the last person in line and the store was closing. Why does every Panda Express have to ration the amount of food they give when they are just going to throw it out and let it go to waste anyway? I was not happy, in fact, I was pretty angry to the point that when I got my food I did not even want to eat it anymore so I just gave it away. I love Panda Express!! I always get the same thing: chow mein, orange chicken & mushroom chicken. Yummm. This time I decided to try a new location on my way to work. I ordered online for my food to be ready at a certain time. I arrived 2 minutes after that time... my order was not ready. There wasn't a long line as I anticipated (my reason for ordering ahead)- yet I still had to wait 10 minutes. The last three online orders I have gotten have not included all that I ordered. Whether it be they forgot to put the teriyaki sauce in with the chicken teriyaki. In the last trip they wait until I got there to put down the veggie spring rolls. While there was some one in the line also waiting for veggie spring rolls. It's sad when you have to double check someone's work to make sure you get everything. After this review Panda Express went through and gave me a credit. Well we ordered half rice half chow mein (which we saw them put in our plates) on our plates along with orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp which they were 'cooking' and would only be 4 mins. So we waited. Meanwhile, we were waiting for the shrimp and 7 minutes go by. I walk up and ask the employee if the shrimp was done since it had been double the time he told me. He said oh let me check, he came back and said 1 more minute after the lady in the back realized she forgot about them. I'm already irritated. So I notice this guy on top of the stove in his work shoes washing down the top fan area with soap and water, flinging and dripping it everywhere on the stove and the floor. Our food is being made on that stove. I'm pretty sure that's unsanitary!! I took a picture. I confronted the employee and asked her, 'is he washing that with the soap dripping everywhere and you're making my food?' Her response.... 'Yea but I cleaned the wok.' I looked at her and said, 'cleaning the wok has nothing to do with that soap falling into the food and the guy standing on the stove.' She looked like a deer in headlights. She didn't know what to say. So she gives us our food and I walked out disgusted. Shouldn't this cleaning be saved for when the place is closed and there's no food being prepared? Looks like they just want to get it done and get home and don't care what other people think or eat. Yuck! So to top this all off, we get home and open our food, (just a reminder we saw them put the half rice and half chow mein in our plates) it's not our order. My plates were all chow mein with orange chicken and some kind of pineapple bell pepper chicken (I can't eat pineapple) and the other was all chow mein with orange chicken and walnut shrimp. And we didn't even have our rolls that we paid for. So our orders were completely switched. I did call the manager and let them know and he said he would comp my meal but I haven't gone in yet to do so, so we will see. I finally decided to post a review after a third time of getting absolute crap for food. Corporate needs to come in and rehaul this location. The food has a weird taste to it, I can't even describe it. Even my 10 year old said "this chicken tastes like slobber." Whatever that means, but obviously it's not good. Don't even bother ordering chow mein or the greens/veggies (whatever they call them) it's all cabbage. I'm sorry but not very many people want to eat cabbage so please adjust your recipes back to what they were.... my kids usually finish all of their orange chicken yet they haven't because it doesn't taste right. I feel like this is a staple for panda, right??? As far as the fried rice, it should be called DRIED rice. It was crunchy, and I mean every bite. This last order, which was today, I had to throw the entire thing out. And good luck explaining that to the company under their feedback section in under 400 characters. Came here for dinner as we were visiting the Great Wolf Lodge on the next block. I'd had visited plenty of Panda Express before but it was my first time visiting this location. I was surprised by how fresh the food tasted here. Also, the staff was super nice. My 9 year-old child did not order the kid's meal (she ordered a regular meal) but wanted a sticker sheet that came with the kid's meal. They gave it to her anyways. I will definitely go back next time I am in the area. read more
