Tonight was a terrible experience at this location! The young teenager at the beginning was fine but after him it was just awful! The portions were so uneven! Some people were getting huge portions while some (including myself) got maybe half of normal size! Then the girl behind working the counter sighed and looked terribly inconvenienced when I asked her to cut up the chicken instead of a giant chunk. The cashier rang my order up wrong then stood there clueless while the other girl told her to get a manager to help her. After I paid I had to wait off to the side since they were out of orange chicken and the cashier threw my order at me! She seriously just flung it at me! Even the other lady waiting with me commented on how agressive that was! Then when I got home, I noticed that the sauce that I asked for is missing and they only put in two fortune cookies when I clearly ordered 3 meals. Normally the staff here is great but we will not be back for dinner since This staff is so incompetent and rude! read more

This location is NEVER fresh. Have them make it for you fresh here or you will be disappointed. The orange chicken was bearable but not great. I sent the Beijing beef back so they would cook it fresh. They were very pleasant about it. The aliso Viejo location seems to be consistent. But many of the Pandas have gone down hill. read more

I have had just one time where I have had my honey walnut shrimp given to me when it should have been thrown away because it had been sitting there way too long. From the second you open the doors of Panda Express in Ladera Ranch, you feel like you have been transported to a Chinese festival, full of Chinese food and colors. The inside is full of table with booth chairs and high seated tables. The walls are painted red and yellow, with neon signs reading "Panda Express" with a panda bear in the middle. This particular location is no different from their other locations that cover the U.S., with their room setup and atmosphere. This is a great place for families because they offer flavors that cover the range for young and old. This place has something for everyone! Panda's menu features a variety of spicy, sweet, crunchy, and flavorful items. The orange chicken is probably the main dish because everyone that I see has it on there plate. I know that every time I go there, that is the first thing I get, along with chow mein. The orange chicken is a raisin looking piece of meat drenched in tangy, sweet, thick, and tasty sauce. As always my second choice is the chow mein. I pick this because I'm not a fan of rice and that's the other item to choose from. The chow mein isn't something to look forward too. The noodles are usually overcooked and in it there are vegetables that give it a plain taste to it. But the main reason me, along with many other people go, is for the orange chicken. Panda Express offers many other sides too. Some include Beijing beef, sweet fire chicken breast, peppercorn shrimp, and my favorite, coconut walnut shrimp. Coconut walnut shrimp is my favorite part of the meal. The shrimp layered with a fried topping of coconut, crunches as I bite into it and melts in my mouth as it goes through the layer of shrimp perfectly cooked and lathered. Panda Express doesn't have a wide variety of food, but its enough. From the way it's packaged to the way you choose, that's all that's too it. I usually order it in a to go box but you can also order a panda bowl, filled with your entrée/ side of your choice in a medium sized bowl, a la carte, a box filled with the side you want, or a 2-3 entrée plate. You don't go to Panda Express for the dessert. This dessert menu includes a fortune cookie (included in every meal), and a chocolate chip cookie. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt to include some more items like green tea ice cream, a type of ice cream popular in Japan, South Korea, and my belly. Now, of course this ice cream is not a type of Chinese food, but I wish it was! Some advice: Always order "to go" even when dining in, simply because you get more! If you dine in you get a plate rather than a nice, big carry out box. This may not give you a lot more of sides, but it will get you more chow mein or fried rice! I recommend this restaurant to anybody with an appetite for Chinese food and a good atmosphere. I have been to Panda Express plenty of times, and I still like to go. I haven't tried everything on the menu but I've enjoyed everything that I've gotten so far. My experiences at Panda have always been positive, and I go a lot with friends. read more

The most disgusting panda ive ever been to, i order the 2 entree with the chow main, fried rice, teriyaky chicken and the fire something chicken (the one with the pineapple & bell peppers) anyways the rice was undercooked (it was crunchy) and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, it didnt have any spices no salt i mean nothing, the teriyaky was the same no flavor at all and found pcs of bone in the chicken the fire chicken was good but i only got 3 pcs yes 3 pcs of chicken n the rest was pineapple n bell peppers the noodles were fine oh n this was at 9pm today the rice pan was full as if it had just been filled, anyways i had to throw it away. read more

I've been ordering here for some time now since I'm hooked on the noodles and teriyaki chicken. I for one have never had food poisoning here, so rest your minds. Second, yes it is busy however they do get through the lines quick and because it's busy the food is always freshly cooked. This is the best place in Ladera for a quick meal in my humble opinion. While there are many people out there who despise even the idea of unauthentic Chinese takeout, those among us who have embraced this food style can find a home at Panda Express. Panda Express is a fairly original restaurant in concept with its unique dishes. However, Panda's ever-typical environment, right down to the music, weighs the restaurant down and keeps it in the ballpark of "cheap Chinese takeout". But being a bit pricier than competitors, how does Panda Express stay afloat? It has to be he food, of course! Panda boasts a huge selection of original flavors, the most popular being orange chicken. The chicken itself is alright; there is nothing major wrong with it, but it isn't particularly spectacular. Where the orange chicken excels is in the sauce. The chicken is coated in a warm golden veneer of orange flavor, sweet but not overwhelmingly so. While my favor lies elsewhere on the Panda menu, there is no arguing with the reputation orange chicken has earned as one of the best dishes in the takeout business. If there is one fault with Panda Express' food, it is that some dishes are actually too powerful. Dishes that are packed with flavor, such as Shanghai steak or golden treasure shrimp, are positively fantastic- for the first three bites, that is. Before long, the strength of the sauce makes you not want another drop of the stuff, and you'll find yourself sticking to your side of rice. The foods that I personally prefer are honey walnut shrimp, sweet fire chicken, and, particularly, Beijing beef. Each dish has a totally unique taste, and each combination make for a completely different kind of meal. The shrimp is fried to a satisfying crunch and glazed with a delicious honey sauce and walnuts. Sweet fire chicken contains slices of pineapples, an interesting touch that adds wonderfully to the fruitiness of the chicken. Beijing beef is my personal favorite. The beef is sliced thinly and fried to the perfect texture before being complemented with the subtle spiciness of the Beijing sauce. Overall, Panda Express is a fantastic restaurant. Yes, the trying-to-be-Chinese-but-mostly-American-cheap-takeout thing has been done before, but Panda is a real gem of that style. And while some options on the menu are a bit too strong, there are countless others that will surely leave your mouth watering for more. After speaking with corporate HQ for Panda Express, It is now very unfortunate that they chosen not to help people who have special dietary restrictions. In my faith we are not allowed to consume any amount of cooking wine/alcohol. In the past they help me out by not putting the cooking wine in our order, when my local grocery store has removed the in-store Panda, it drove me to find another Panda to go to but after working the restaurant management, district manager, and then finally corporate, they have decided not to help me out in the future. They said that to the fact "It is with a very heavy heart" that they are unable to help me out. So I have to go to another Chinese style restaurant like "Pick up Stix" where they are able to take care of my needs. I remember this very phrase: "If you can not help me, I will find someone who can help me". As of today Panda Express and myself have to part way from each other. It is extremely disappointing that Panda is unable to take care of a customer with special circumstances, especially when the situation has to to with religious dietary restrictions. Instead of writing whether or not I like Panda Express and what is on the menu, I will be writing a REVIEW! I have been to this perticular Panda Express a lot and have found the rice dry an unless you were fortunate enough to have to food cooked before you, it tastes like microwaved re-runs. This though was acceptable since I was not aiming for anything past fast food. However at 12:20 today for my lunch break I was not anticipating seeing roaches...... LIVE INCH LONG ROACHES!!! Scurrying between those in front of me in line( that's around the food for those who require a visual). So for every roach seen there's how many unseen??? Lastly for the cherry ontop, when I called and informed the manager ( who spoke for a comforting 10 seconds) said,"where going to deal with it". How reassuring that a serious infestation/contamination issue is met with such a Nonchalant, unprofessional, and really half assed reply.
