The reason why I'm making this review is because the Chinese manager there made me feel so uncomfortable. It's not even funny. I went in for an interview. I have 10 years of assistant manager, and she told me I didn't have the look for the position, but I had all the qualifications That really made me sad and then I went to order food I seen that she had a little bit of rice left and I asked her can I get more she did it with attitude I didn't even wanna eat there. I would have given 5, but it's a serious issue not having signs for your entrance. People are CONSTANTLY blocking the mall intersection because they believe that's how they get in line for the drive through. Went to pickit up and here is this tiny box with 3 pieces of cabbage and the rest kale and not one piece of broccoli. The rice is supposed to be a side. But the way they do it is the rice is the entree and the greens are the side. So save your money and just stick to the regular order you get more vegetables as a side and its cheaper. Panda Express: An Asian Buffet with Less Options. But a Whole Lot Cleaner! Please don't get me wrong. I'm not a Panda Express hater. Let's just be honest with ourselves. Panda Express has the same basic options as an Asian Buffet with a few basic differences: they "scoop" your food for you, they limit how much and how many options you can have, and you pay for every extra you get. Now the positive differences: it's generally much cleaner than most buffets (Asian or otherwise), you can see them cooking it (at least at this location and yes, I see this as a huge positive), you only pay for what you want (which could end up costing you less), and they rotate the food more often to keep it "looking" fresh. Sure the latter example does nothing for the taste or quality of the food, but they've at least figured out presentation is important. Just one side point I have to make. If you're eating this type of food to be healthy, please don't just assume because it's here then it "must be healthy!" If it has breading on it, it's been fried. And if it's a dark sauce expect a lot of sugar and/or salt. I'll be coming back! We went to this Panda Express last night because it was on the interstate and it had a drive-thru. However, we were extremely disappointed about our experience. The workers were very rude and not friendly at all. We were in the drive-thru for over 30 minutes. Once we ordered, they were out of 3 different types of chicken. The employees didn't care that they were out. Once we received our food after a long wait they just handed us the food with no greeting. I ordered a bigger plate and one of my entrees (Sweetfire Chicken) had only three pieces of chicken in the entire order. My other entree (Honey Sesame Chicken) also did not have much chicken. The chicken was also old, dry, cold, and extremely hard. The noodles that I ordered were also cold and flavorless. I was extremely disappointed and the employees simply didn't care. If you are open til 9:30, you shouldn't stop serving an item at 7. What is inspiring this review is the visit I'm am currently on. I placed an order online, anticipating they would be busy during dinner rush. Order placed at 7:00pm. I was informed by the website that my food would be ready at 7:34. I arrive to the restaurant exactly on time, and nobody knows anything about an online order. After 5 minutes they finally found it. Upon arrival we were not greeted by an employee for almost 2 minutes, not because employees were not around, but the only person who looked at us was the drive thru employee and was on a headset. Everyone else was just moving around the kitchen without noticing customers were there. More than half of the hot wells were empty and many of the pans had barely a portion in them. This was an hour and a half before the location closed. (And has was a similar issue the last time I was there several months ago.. clearly it's still an issue. I took pictures and have them if you'd like to see them.) The almond chicken that was advertised as "new" and was up on the menu boards and had a giant decal on the glass was not only out but we were informed that it was a limited time offer and they no longer carried it, making me wonder why it was still being advertised. The one entree I wanted while our friend was getting her food was scooped out front of us for a drive through order. After asking about the entrees we wanted and being guided toward entrees that were already ready, they reluctantly made the entrees we wanted, though it felt like we were asking a lot. They also were out of egg rolls which we waited for as well, roughly 15 minutes total. It was clear they were not out of food as the coolers were stocked with prepped veggies, they just weren't refilling the lines. When I paid I had a coupon for a free entree that was mailed to me several months ago after our last visit as an apology and invitation to return. Tonight was when we finally decided to give the restaurant another shot, being disappointed again. When I went to use the voucher, I was expecting it to be roughly worth the price of an entree, but only $1.50 was taken off of the order. When I asked why it was only $1.50 off when a single small entree was $4.40 on the menu, they said the coupon doesn't work that way, it's only moving from a single entree to a double entree. Very misleading coupon.. he agreed it was misleading.. but I wonder also if he was just ringing it into the system wrong. They were also out of straws (which while that's not a big issue was just annoying.. if I was running that location I would have driven the 4 blocks to the GFS marketplace around the corner and bought a few boxes of straws to keep the customers happy.) we had also asked for chopsticks and only 1 pair was in the bag, and apparently we should have also asked for napkins and soy sauce as there was none in the bag. When we got home and opened the boxes with our food, the portions were VERY small compared to some of the 2 entree plates we were watching get filled for the drive through, and when I weighed my 2 entree plate compared to our friends bowl, the 2 entree plate was only 2oz heavier which doesn't seem right to me. Needs adult supervision I love the food but management needs to get their act together. Many times my family and I drive by, look in the window and see the line and leave When we do stop in and brave the line it is clear that the main reason for the line is because the kids working there are not supervised. They all seem like good kids working hard but they are not organized, they do not function as a team and don't seem to stick to their positions. I love panda, I've been eating it since I was young from the mall in okemos. This new one is new I get it but please for the love of god stop over deep frying the orange chicken. The food here is pretty good. We had the orange chicken and the sweet fire chicken with fried rice. It's' not a buffet, but I do not like buffets as a rule anyway.
