Kung Po Chicken -- awful and not spicy -- AVOID
Zoe W.

My husband and I were stuck at the Hampton Inn at JFK (see that review). With no parking readily available, going out to eat was not an option (walking around in the neighborhood is not recommended either) -- so it was pizza or Chinese food delivery as our only option. Upon reading the reviews on Yelp, we settled on Panda Chinese Restaurant. It was a big mistake. We ordered 2 egg rolls, Wonton soup, Kung Po Chicken, Chicken with Broccoli. The Kung Po was ordered WITHOUT carrots. We asked for house mustard but were told they only had packaged mustard. We also requested no MSG. The clerk explained all of the sauces were prepared with MSG. These signals should have been a red flag but because of the reviews, we went ahead with the order anyway. The egg rolls were arrived hot but the skin was very thick therefore do not have much filling. The soup was cold and undrinkable. The Kung Po was covered with carrots and mushrooms (hate! see photo). The chicken was difficult to find and the dish was not spicy at all. The pork fried rice (see photo) was a disgrace -- little chunks of pork in very yellow rice with onion (no customary egg was found). The Chicken with Broccoli was okay but very heavy with a thick brown sauce. Do yourself a favor, order a pizza.

So MY husband almost threw at the first bite.... but noooooo I still had to be a fat ass and eat some of the food...My son had chicken and broccoli and he said ma, the chicken is rubbery, but we was so hungry.. we ate some... Mu husband didn't eat anything but his rice and picked out at least a hundred onions... I was so disappointed... but that's not even the bad part!!!! Hold on to your seats!!! I think I just fed my family rat!!! This couldn't have been chicken... andF*** about to throw up.. me and my son had to throw up.. stick out fingers down our throats because we really don't know what the F*** we just ate!!! I really can't believe this

Pork fried rice with roast pork and bean sprouts.

Pretty good for Chinese take out. The food is clean and good. Not heavy, not oily. Doesn't taste like the food has been fried in 6 month old oil. Com[ared to other Chinese take out spots, this one is very good. I had the pork fried rice with bean sprouts. Very good food.

I hate to say it but didn't care for the food at all. The dumplings were way under cooked. The sweet and sour wasn't much better.

Well, it is a pretty good deal, you get the meat, along with that, you get cooked onions and peppers, lettuce, tomato, salsa, tortilla, black beans. Normally it also comes with sour cream, it wasn't in the bag. So make you check your bag before you leave. I cooked some yellow Goya rice, got extra sour cream, made it to a perfect dinner. It is not the cleanest place, i have a lot of issues about it. Workers don't wear mask, hat, gloves!!! I wonder how they get an "A" from health department, they have a lot of violations!!!

The person on the phone seemed really familiar with our building, so we didn't have to provide details on where to deliver our good. We ordered crab fried rice, stir fried rice noodle, sesame chicken, wonton soup, a quesadilla and Ho Fun. The person on the phone spoke Cantonese Chinese, as well as English. They usually take 45min - 1 hour since we had ordered from them once before. When our food came the first time, we had to go out side and meet them in the parking lot near the curb. The second time we ordered they came inside. I think it's really unique that they make Chinese food as well as Mexican food. It took me a while to realize that the two menus were for the same place. According to my coworkers the food was alright, but bland. My dish was kind of dry and bland, I ordered veggie Ho Fun. For the price, it's very affordable for college students like us, haha! But their food is okay, not the best, but acceptable.

Like many others, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit years ago, but unfortunately, things have gone dramatically downhill. First, they've replaced the neat rows of seating along both walls with a seemingly random arrangement that makes the restaurant feel crowded and cluttered. Far worse, however, is the abysmal service and decline in food quality. Our waitress clearly knew the people at one table (family, perhaps?) and spent nearly our entire visit standing around chatting with them while neglecting everyone else. We were given a QR code linking to a completely different menu from the one on their website. Already knowing our favorites we ordered the Manchurian Dry and Mushroom Angare. Several dishes we'd looked forward to ordering were missing from the linked PDF, including the Chili Cauliflower. When asked about it, our waitress disappeared into the kitchen and returned five minutes later to say it wasn't available. We settled on the Chili Tofu instead and requested water, having already been seated for 15 minutes without being offered anything to drink. Instead of placing our order or bringing water, our waitress returned to chatting with her friends. After watching her socialize for another five full minutes, my girlfriend politely approached to ask for water when she had a chance. Her irritated response? "I'm the only person working." We've both worked in restaurants and have tremendous compassion for servers who are overwhelmed, but that simply wasn't the situation. Only two other tables were occupied, and the only thing keeping her busy was socializing while ignoring her customers. When the food finally arrived, the mushrooms were cold, the Manchurian Dry was soggy instead of crisp, and the Chili Tofu was dry. To their credit, the dishes were flavorful and well-seasoned, but the preparation and execution were disappointing. It's a real shame. With Royal Tangra Masala and Nanking both closed in New Hyde Park, we've been looking for a new Indo-Chinese restaurant to frequent. We won't ever be returning to this location under its current management, so the search continues.

I am a clean freak and their food seemed nice and sanitary. The chicken with broccoli is AMAZING. It had the right amount of sauce, chicken, and broccoli. The rice tasted fresh! For the chicken wings and fried rice, they are fried in coconut oil. It doesn't taste bad but I know many people that wouldn't want that taste so just something to keep in mind. For chicken wing with fried rice and chicken with broccoli fried rice, it came out to $16.17 after tax. I called them to remind about giving extra hot sauce and they made sure to give 10 extra packets!! Finally someone who listened, I hate when they deliver without any. Overall, this is now my go to for Chinese :)

It was pretty good, but very spicy. No complaints there. The customer service on the other hand, was TERRIBLE. The guy who took our order had a BAD ATTITUDE and LITERALLY ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME when I tried to order "chai-main". He expected me to know the difference between Plain Lo Main, Chicken Lo Main, Chao Main.... WHICH I OBVIOUSLY DONT. I just wanted noodles. My friend saw that I was very uncomfortable and stepped in and asked him "I'm sorry, are we giving you a hard time?" And he said "Oh no. Don't worry about it" and played it off. I just wanted to take my food and leave. Rude. Just rude.

Tasty food or mush? This was my original go-to Chinese spot when I would order delivery. Since they are usually fast and friendly on the phone. My usual order is chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice. The first few times the rice was delicious and not greasy at all. The chicken and broccoli was plentiful and saucy. However, recently there has always been a problem with the fried rice when I order it. Once, the rice had crunchy bits in it. I have no clue what they were. I would guess that they were bits of uncooked rice mixed in. But hey, things happen right? I ordered from two more times since I always had a great experience previously. One of those two times, I ordered the WonTon soup which was all out of the bowl and into the bag when the delivery guy arrived at my house. He told me I can call the store and tell them what happened for a free WonTon soup next time. The next time I ordered from them some of the fried rice has spilled out of the container and again, into the bag. The remaining rice was mushy and obviously overcooked and the pork bits were mainly fat. C'mon guys! I'm sure 98% of the their business is delivery - things like this should not happen.
