There were a total of ten (10) pieces which is generous size as most Chinese takeout cafes provide the standard eight (8) pieces for shrinkage resulting from inflationary pressures and the uphill battle to sustain increased operational costs. It was accompanied with soy sauce as condiment. The dumplings were fresh and average. Customer service is average. Sales receipt is provided upon request and is handwritten the old school way. There is one large oversized takeout menu for grabs which the associate blatantly upfront stated: "the prices will be change and this menu is going to be outdated." Well, at least I can review the menu for the food options offered - not noting the price. The interior ambiance dark, dingy and very dated to 1980s era. Sometimes, I even make the trip all the way from Staten Island to come here [yes, because I have nothing better to do :) ] Their food can be a bit greasy but I figured I only live once. And honestly, who eats Chinese if isn't on their cheat day while wearing sweats? I love their chicken and broccoli. It is my favorite thing to order from them. While, their chicken lo mien is good, it tastes like the other standard Chinese food take out places. Seriously, their chicken is soft and almost melts in your mouth. The broccoli is cooked to perfection, it is neither too soft or stiff. The staff is very nice and attentive. I have been ordering here for years and even after moving -- 8 years later they still remember my voice and order.

Nanking - A Perfect Spot for Layovers (or Locals)!…read more When my in-laws had a long layover at JFK, we decided to meet them for dinner, and Nanking turned out to be a fantastic choice. As a Brooklyn local, I hadn't explored many restaurants near JFK, and found slim pickings for Chinese or Thai food by the airport. First off, the ambiance is good--booth seating along the walls and a welcoming, authentic vibe. I was a bit skeptical at first about the large menu (Indian, Thai, and Chinese?!) because that's often a red flag. But, spoiler alert: Nanking proved me wrong! What we ordered: * Navaratan Korma: Super fresh veggies, rich and flavorful. As someone who makes this at home, I was impressed! * Lamb Korma: Delicious, tender, and full of depth. * Naan: A little thinner than usual but still tasty, especially paired with the curries. * Hot and Sour Soup: the in-laws finished their bowl. * Fish Curry: when my FIL ordered this we had a mini-panic that it wouldn't be fresh given the large menu and not apparent seafood focus -- bad fish ahead of a international flight seems worth avoiding at all costs -- but our server was quick and confident with her assertion the fish was fresh and I stood corrected! FIL reported back that it was flavorful, fresh and not overly creamy. * Butter Chicken: A weekly favorite of a diner sitting near us who gave it high praise, and the MIL reported she was right. (Her tip: Pair it with garlic naan--A+ advice!) The drink deals were great, and the prices overall were super reasonable. The only downside was the timing--our food took about 30 minutes, and the drinks were slow too. But with a party of 20 arriving at the same time as us, it's understandable. (And kudos to the menu for being upfront: "Let us know if you're in a hurry.") In short, Nanking is a gem for anyone looking for authentic flavors near JFK. My in-laws left happy, and if the situation presents itself again well definitely be back.

At week's end for a very weary Saturday, I could not move my body to get out to attain brunch but decided to give delivery the o' college try. Food does not contain any substance. Subsequently, I inadvertently placed a second separate order of chicken Manchurian and had a hard time cancelling. Nanking had the audacity to inquire why I want to cancel my second separate delivery order. It was created in error! Grubhub automatically include: tax, tip, delivery fee, and service fee. I called Nanking to cancel this chicken Manchurian order who instructed me to directly contact Grubhub for cancelling because Nanking has no ability to cancel as this order originated from Grubhub. Delivery was approximately 45 minutes eternal wait timeline. I have no plans for a return delivery order nor a in-person visit dining experience. Oh, hell NO!! Steamed shrimp dumplings, haa1 gaau2 蝦餃, $10.99 These dumplings were average and was accompanied with excessive high sodium content soy sauce to raise high blood pressure increasing the risk of heart disease and possibly stroke. Vegetable noodle soup $7.50 Very minimal noodles content but heavy concentration of vegetables. It was heavily swimming in clear broth. The broth was not salty. This noodle soup does not contain any substance. Bye, Felicia!

I am a clean freak and their food seemed nice and sanitary. The chicken with broccoli is AMAZING. It had the right amount of sauce, chicken, and broccoli. The rice tasted fresh! For the chicken wings and fried rice, they are fried in coconut oil. It doesn't taste bad but I know many people that wouldn't want that taste so just something to keep in mind. For chicken wing with fried rice and chicken with broccoli fried rice, it came out to $16.17 after tax. I called them to remind about giving extra hot sauce and they made sure to give 10 extra packets!! Finally someone who listened, I hate when they deliver without any. Overall, this is now my go to for Chinese :)

It was pretty good, but very spicy. No complaints there. The customer service on the other hand, was TERRIBLE. The guy who took our order had a BAD ATTITUDE and LITERALLY ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME when I tried to order "chai-main". He expected me to know the difference between Plain Lo Main, Chicken Lo Main, Chao Main.... WHICH I OBVIOUSLY DONT. I just wanted noodles. My friend saw that I was very uncomfortable and stepped in and asked him "I'm sorry, are we giving you a hard time?" And he said "Oh no. Don't worry about it" and played it off. I just wanted to take my food and leave. Rude. Just rude.
