It's a small Venezuelan restaurant tucked into a modest shopping strip next to a liquor store, with limited indoor seating--maybe 20 seats total. We went on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and found plenty of parking. Ordering is counter-style with menus in both English and Spanish. While our friend speaks Spanish, some menu items were still unfamiliar, but the staff went above and beyond--bringing someone over from next door to help explain everything in English. That kind of service stood out. The food leans heavily toward fried comfort fare: empanadas, hot dogs, burgers, and loaded plates. We tried both chicken and beef empanadas, fried cheese sticks (not breaded like mozzarella sticks but still very good), and a plate with beef, ham, cheese, eggs, and potatoes. The flavors were bold and satisfying, though the potatoes were a bit overcooked. My friend's sandwich was piled high with meat and coleslaw--messy but delicious. The drink selection includes a variety of canned and bottled sodas. Overall, it's a flavorful, casual spot with friendly, helpful service and hearty food that's great for sharing with friends.

Why 3 stars? Because the whole experience was a bit of a let down…read more --- --- --- I had this place bookmarked and wanted to check it out for a few weeks. I finally made the drive down 1488, but was a bit saddened by the events. Attempt #1: I drove over, put in my order and waited. A few minutes later, my buzzer went off and I was told that the gas for their stove top ran out and that they would have to refund me. It's unfortunate and it happens, but it was definitely not ideal since I drove 15-20 minutes just for this. Attempt #2: I sat in awful traffic on my way here that made my commute about 30 minutes. And then I waited another 20+ for my food after ordering, which I definitely did not expect. When I got home, I was pretty unimpressed with my pepito. And my wife felt the same about her California hot dog. I know this is about as small a business as they come and I hate to be too harsh, so I'll just leave my rating at 3-stars, though it's a bit of a round-up.

Yasss food truck heaven here! We came across Latin 58 and saw their awesome menu. My husband got a guanábana drink and some guava tequenos, jalapeño and cheese tequenos, and lastly a chicken empanada. Wowowowow. The juice was amazing, had great fresh taste and the snacks were fire! They were delicious. The guava and cheese tequenos took me back to my home town L.A. when we're would hit up Porto's bakery for some guava and cheese bread. It was amazing! Definitely come check this place out and ask for Damaris, she was really awesome. Customer service was great and they even gave my daughter some really tasty cookies with sprinkles which she loves soooo much.

How did I not know the name of the venue but knew what the truck was!? Nevertheless, my friend and I stopped here when he returned when I mentioned the food truck court off Gosling. He had no idea this was less than a mile from his residence and was pleased with all the truck options. We decided on this one since I wanted to taste this the moment I saw it. Yes, it's another Venezuelan food option but the eats just keep kicking with street goodies such as the arepas, empanadas, hot dogs, and burgers. Going a bit light, I went with the mushroom and cheese arepa and a shredded chicken empanada. The arepa had the right texture with the melted cheese and light crisp of the shell. The empanada was alright, similar to other empanadas I've had although I liked the golden brown color. My friend ordered the Pepi Primos sandwich which was stuffed with goodness beef, cheese, cabbage, dressing, onions, etc. A messy sandwich but he scarfed it down. like there was no tomorrow. We can't wait to return and try other items and my friend is glad this is near his location!
