I like Pancake House. In a way, you can say I'm a fan of this chain of restaurants. In terms of value for money, quality of food and variety of choices, Pancake House delivers. I've also more or less had consistent experiences across most of the branches - at least in terms of food quality and most of the staff are generally friendly and accommodating.
As a whole, Pancake House is a reliable, dependable place to go for comfort food. My favorite would be their Pan Chicken. (Yes, 3 pieces please.) Their Smoked Golden Tinapa is also a favorite and their omelettes are served with generous portions and fillings.
This specific branch has most of what the other branches have as well. It's location is pretty convenient too, since there's a small open-air parking area hidden beside the structure it is in. If that gets full, the Forbestown basement parking area is also a short walk away.
Because its location is very accessible, it gets full often - weekdays during lunch and even on Saturdays for breakfast. And when it's full, I notice that their service kind of slows down. By quite a bit. Compared with other branches, it takes a good while for your food to get to you - in all my visits here, I would get my food late - or at least hear someone else getting their food delayed in other tables. It's a pity because I think there's opportunity to expand this branch given how full it gets.
(Another thing I noticed - it's sometimes difficult to connect to the internet here. It isn't the fault of the restaurant chain but even if my signal is full and my data is on, it takes a while before I can surf or check-in via the Yelp app.)
I hope they get to fix their long food lead times so they could accommodate more folks - would love to make this my go-to Pancake House branch. read more
