My heart wanted to go with the ube pancakes, but my mind ordered the lox and rosti. The portion size was decent! It reminded me of the portion sizes in the United States. It was quite filling! It was delicious. It came with 4 pieces of lox, a pan fried potato cake, salad greens, pickles, pickled onions, and a poached egg. I also ordered the matcha Freddo, which was a coffee with matcha on top. It was interesting! I haven't had anything like that before. Most other places it tasted more like a matcha latte, but this one you could taste the distinct coffee and matcha flavors. It's iced so it's perfect for the heat! They are in their soft opening phase. The service was really attentive (then again most places here in the Philippines have good customer service). The ambiance is clean and modern. It's a nice space to come dine or have coffee. They have a pastry case when you walk in! Some may assume that they only do coffee and pastries. Though, they have a full on menu! It's more than what appears to the eye. They also have 2 hours of free WiFi which can be accessed via a voucher. They also have AC! Overall, I had a great experience here. I would come back and try some other things on the menu. I do wish they had more healthier options, but I know not everyone has the same taste as me. For my meal, coffee and mineral water I think I spent around $12 USD.

A new change and outlook has definitely brighten up the place. Beautiful aesthetics and with pleasant ambiance, it has a nostalgic European feeling. Coffee pairing with delectable desserts are a must. It also has other foods in the menu from a variety of genres. Recommendations: iced caffe freddo, truffle and parmesan french fries, nasi goreng, sea urchin and clam chowder and ube pancake. When my husband and I stay in BGC -- Bonifacio Global City in Taguig within Metro Manila -- our internal clocks are usually completely confused for the first several days. BGC itself is one of the most modern and walkable districts in the Philippines, filled with high-rises, parks, restaurants, shopping areas, and surprisingly peaceful streets during the early morning hours. So naturally, we often find ourselves wandering around the city at dawn while the rest of the world still seems asleep. And when it is 6:00 AM in Manila, it is roughly 5:00 PM back in Sioux Falls depending on daylight savings, which means our bodies are basically convinced it is dinner time while we are attempting to eat breakfast. Traveling is glamorous. Jet lag is not. During one of these early morning walks, we stumbled into Wildflour Cafe, which immediately gave us the feeling of an upscale neighborhood bakery mixed with a polished diner-style brunch spot. It was already surprisingly busy even at that hour, clearly a favorite among locals and early risers. Honestly, the easiest comparison I can make is: Imagine a much more refined and stylish version of Denny's, except with better food, fresher pastries, and significantly more polished presentation. Now to be fair, this is not necessarily the kind of breakfast that completely changes your life forever. But it absolutely is several levels above ordinary diner food. My husband and I both ordered steak and eggs along with a large serving of bread and butter to share because apparently we believe carbohydrates are an important emotional support system while jet lagged. I ordered my eggs scrambled while my husband went with over easy. The breakfast potatoes were fresh, flavorful, and wonderfully prepared. The steak itself was a bit overdone for my personal taste. My husband actually enjoys steak prepared more thoroughly for breakfast dishes, but I have always preferred at least a little pink or redness remaining no matter how small the cut may be. The real star for me, however, was the bread. Warm, fragrant, slightly crumbly, and absolutely wonderful once the butter slowly melted into every crevice. There is something deeply comforting about fresh bread early in the morning while sitting in a quiet cafe halfway around the world watching a city wake up around you. Now the one surprise during this visit was the service. Because Filipino hospitality is usually exceptional. Truly exceptional. In fact, some of the best service experiences my husband and I have ever had anywhere in the world have been in the Philippines. This particular morning, however, things felt a little slower and less attentive than what we are normally accustomed to there. Nothing terrible at all -- the cafe was extremely busy -- but it did stand out compared to the typically warm and highly attentive Filipino dining experience we have come to expect. Overall though, it was still a very enjoyable breakfast and a wonderful way to begin the day. Or technically... begin the day in Manila while our bodies were fully convinced it was bedtime back in Sioux Falls. At some point during breakfast I remember thinking: "We should probably go to sleep soon." At 7:00 AM. Jet lag is a very strange thing.

We had HK pop ups back home in CA but PH's Uptown Mall has a real sit down, wait staff takes your order kinda cafe. I was so excited I almost ran across the 3rd floor just to get here. Go figure they placed it near the movie theaters scattered between kid friendly shops and game areas. It wasn't too busy when we arrived Thursday afternoon. After a couple of photos outside, a waitress seated us. Hmm, my uncle joked it kind of smelled like kittens inside too ... perhaps it was the bleu and feta cheese. Didn't realize they offer so many types of food aside from showcased desserts. We ended up ordering: *Portobello mushroom soup with truffles (comes with salad)-- Mom enjoyed this. *Roasted pumpkin soup *Salad Maison (has curry spiced chicken, grapes, feta, raspberry vinaigrette) presented as a flower bouquet! *Cheesy Monte Cristo (ham & cheese with egg dipped bread) *Smoked Norwegian salmon pasta (small salmon portion) *Moroccan chicken with warm cous cous Take out: *Free range chicken braised in red wine *Seared Salmon with tarragon cream sauce *Chocolate Mint profiteroles (mini cream puffs) *Mango Charlotte dessert We ordered a hot matcha latte and hot cappuccino, both decorated with a HK stencil. The matcha wasn't too sweet or bitter. The pumpkin soup presentation was adorable! I found it funny how the wait staff kept placing each dish in front of me, probably because they saw me taking photos. I almost ordered a chocolate crinkle cookie "biskie" which is two cookies with cream piped between, creating a sandwich. Sis & I had too many crinkles on the trip though. The mango Charlotte is presented very nicely with soft lady fingers all around a vanilla chiffon swirled with mango purée, quaintly wrapped together by a lilac bow. Taste-wise, I didn't like the cake texture. It seemed like spongy cream I wasn't fond of. The mini choco mint profiteroles were good, not much mint. I also don't understand those colorful bow cutouts topping off food-- they're not ham so what are they? Definitely take photos and sit in one of the gold cage tables. They have three total and can be reserved in advance, for a meal, dessert, or even birthday party. On a lower note, our waitress seemed like she didn't like her job and never smiled. What, do we have to bring a kid in order to enjoy HK cafe? The remaining wait staff were more lively. Drinks and entrees arrived in a timely manner. Leftovers were boxed neatly, as well as dessert for take out. All that food for PHP 4470 ~$85! It would cost much more at home. Overall, Hello Kitty lovers will enjoy the experience. Hopefully, they'll have decorated doughnuts available more often.

That's what I assumed when I went to the Gudetama Cafe in Osaka, Japan - but the entrees served there actually tasted delicious AND looked cute! I wasn't expecting much, but was hopeful that the Hello Kitty Cafe would be just as delicious. It's actually pretty underwhelming. I had the White Chocolate Kirsch (blech) and the Oreo Shake. Cute-looking, but nothing tastes that good. It's fun to go here if you're trying to entertain little kids or for a cute date idea, but I probably wouldn't go back to eat here again after the first time. It looks like you can reserve tables too. If I were to improve the menu, I would add at least some sundaes or ice cream cone options - that would be really cute. Instead, the dessert options are all kinda.. ok. Maybe the Hello Kitty Cafes in other countries are miles better than this sad one. I gave a star for good service, decor, and food presentation.
