We are now on our fifth visit to this resort and are definitely already planning to come back for more. This is the first time we have been since it became Panama Jacks (used to be under other management) but we have been pleasantly surprised to see things are relatively the same, aside from a few cosmetic differences. Why we love it: 1. Ease in getting here from the airport 2. We love the food. There is always something good to eat and we feel safe eating it. The Italian food place is phenomenal. Since it is all-inclusive, we never have to worry about meal options. We have stayed at a few all inclusives that really sacrifice on food, but it is too notch here. 3. Staff is SO friendly and accommodating. We never feel that we can't find what we need. 4. Beachfront is clean, well-maintained, and not overly crowded. 5. Family friendly so we can bring our kids but the kids activities are kept enough separated that we also can enjoy a couples' trip and not be with kids all the time. It's truly the perfect balance. 6. This is not a party resort. It's a relaxing escape. There are plenty of time things to do but it's not crazy, drunk people everywhere. 7. The cabanas are amazing.

Ok so I will start from the beginning. CHECK-IN: We had to check in with security outside and do temperature checks. Then we had to check in which took about 20 minutes because it was 3 of us in three different rooms and had to all sign paperwork.Oh also during the day they turn the A/C off in the lobby so you feel like your in a oven during the day. But during the evening/nighttime they have the fans on with the wind outside blowing so it's very cool which was good for me. Oh also be prepared to pay an additional 7 dollars when you check in because of some "travel tax" which is crazy. THE ROOMS: I was on the 6th floor with a king size bed. The room was really nice and you can make the room as cold or hot as you want. The mini bar isn't filled with just liquor. It's comprised of 4 or 5 bottles of water, three tiny liquor bottles, two cans of beer, and two coconut waters. The room was very clean and the staff did a great job with cleaning each day. THE FOOD: Ok so honestly this was the worst part about the trip for me breakfast in Ventanas was exceptional and you can order everything fresh(waffles, pancakes, omelets, and other stuff as well, the staff was attentive and always made sure everything was ok. But outside by the pool the hotdogs, hamburgers, and nachos are DISGUSTING . There was no seasoning on the food at any of the restaurants we tried except for ventanas so the safest choice is to eat there for breakfast and lunch and either go to Viaggio for dinner or go out and explore downtown Cancun for food it's much better. THE DRINKS: So if you are not a picky person and don't mind drinking bottom shelf liquor this is the place for you. The only down side is that they don't provide liquor from 11pm- 11am so you will need to get a bottle or two from downtown or the surrounding liquor stores for a cheaper price then the hotel will sell you. The bar staff was great and always made sure we were satisfied. We had a great time at the bar. EXCHANGE RATE/AND CURRENCY: Ok so coming in we really didn't know where the best place to exchange for currency was. So currently the overall currency rate is 1USD TO 20 pesos. So at the airport the exchange rate for USD TO PESOS IS 1USD - 18.00 pesos. At Panama Jack the exchange rate is 1USD - 17.50 pesos. THE BEST PLACE TO EXCHANGE CURRENCY, is at the surrounding banks they close at 5pm open at 8am. The exchange rate was 1USD to 19.50 it's literally a .5mile walk to the left of the hotel. Also if you want to tip your servers ,or anyone that provides a service I suggest giving them singles in USD they are more appreciative. TRANSPORTATION: To ride the bus it's 12 pesos a person the bus drivers will see that you are a tourist and will try to swindle you the first time I paid 36 pesos and a person on the bus told me it was 12 pesos. So learn from my mistake. Also you can pay with American singles just make sure you get correct change which would be 8 pesos. We took the bus down town to go party and then Would take a taxi back because the later it gets the slower the busses come(they come like every hour after 12am). The taxi will be like 10-15 USD depending on how many ppl and the distance. They have taxis at the hotel so you don't have to call. THE SPA: So we had a resort credit but with hidden underlines. So you can use 35 dollars of the 200 dollar credit but it had to be for the 80 min massage you couldn't use it for the 50 min massage. So after that fine print was handled we had our massages Gorgina was great and she massaged all of the spots that needed to be worked on and the sauna and steam room was nice. LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE KIDS: Ok so I understood it would be a family friendly hotel, but this was just a lot honestly. The kids were running around crazy no supervision and literally were just very loud and disruptive. Honestly if I ever do come back to Cancun it will be at an adults only all inclusive. This resort is literally for children, families, or couples. Pros:The rooms ,drinks ,close proximity to everything, and breakfast at ventanas. Cons: The food quality and taste at all of the other restaurants and the kids.

We had an incredible 7 day vacation here. Don't come here if you don't like children because this is a family resort. This resort had a friendly, hard-working staff. We were actually kind of blown away by how great the staff was. All-inclusive doesn't mean not tipping your staff. It was upsetting to see how many people didn't provide gratuity. Everything about this resort was fun, delicious, and clean. I think the problem is that people think they're going to get a 5 star resort without paying for a 5 star resort. You get more than what you paid for here. We enjoyed everything about this resort!

We visited Panama Jack Cancun mid February 2020, and overall recommend this hotel. This is a family friendly resort, and not appropriate for a couple looking for a romantic vacation. This place does an amazing job catering to the children at this resort, and this was what brought us here to begin with. We arrived with 2 adults, 1 child and were able to check-in immediately at 2pm. I was so suprised a room was ready for us, but they even had one with 2 beds as we requested. We had the beach front walkout, and although the cabana rows block most of the view, the ability to go from room to the beach in just a few steps is awesome. The rooms were a little more "beat up" than presented on the website (as most Cancun hotels are) and was an older resort. The service is what will bring us back here again, along with the the kids pool and variety of activities. On the first day, my son was hesitant to go to the kids club, but they promised to play video games with him for 30 minutes so he ended up staying. That was an awesome feature and safe place for him to go while I took a nap. I had a massage and boy scrub at the spa, and was able to negotiate prices by bundling services. The massage area was pretty beat up, with part of the ceiling coming down. Honestly the worst looking thing at the resort. I traveled with my brother, who wanted to go on a fishing charter and was able to arrange one right at the resort with Best Day in the lobby. He caught some fish, and brought it back to the hotel where we were able to have it cooked for us. It was all arranged by Javier at the Italian restaurant, and he's amazing. They made a custom dinner for us out of the fish that was simply amazing. We visited the Italian restaurant 3 times because of Javier this week, and his attention to detail and service. My son is allergic to tree nuts and they custom made him a variety of things that weren't on the menu. The morning barista at the coffee co was great, I feel terrible I can't remember his name. He made foam hearts on my cappuccino every morning. Nightly entertainment was fun, especially the fire show. I really enjoyed karaoke in the lobby bar after too many margaritas. We loved our stay and actually visited the VIP area many times, because of the alcohol available there. I tried a couple of well drinks around the pool and couldn't handle them, the quality was just really bad. The most disappointing part of our stay was the Mexican restaurant. I am certain the employees are ashamed to serve what was called Mexican food here. The only good thing was the guacamole at the restaurant, the rest was a bunch of dry tortillas and meat. I ordered some tacos that couldn't even be described as tacos, really. My only other complaint is lack of monitoring of the reserved cabanas. I had to kick people out of our assigned cabana 3 times during the stay (one came with our room) people spilled drinks on ours, then when I tried to enjoy it, I was bitten by ants that were after the spilled Pina colada. I guess I wasn't able to clean it enough before the ants arrived. What sets this place apart from other Cancun resorts: -Kid friendly, not just kid welcome -Kids pool was heated -kids allowed at all resort restaurants -Staff are all friendly -Nightly entertainment that's pretty decent -They have Karaoke -Allergy friendly Where they could improve: -Updates of the aesthetics in/around the resort -better quality alcohol around the common areas -Food quality was mediocre at best

With the end of the "all-inclusive" with class in Mexico, Panama Jack's Resort is still a good bang for your buck. In fact, I've stayed at this resort under a few different signs out front. There has always been a hiccup of sort over the last 5 years, but it's so minor compared to the same price point of an Oasis hotel; or god forbid, the Crown Paradise line. This time, the check in came with someone already in our suite eating my return guest gift. Lol but, they quickly upgraded us to club level and all was laughed away. Our previous favorite restaurant, Something Pesacatore, has been replaced with Viaggio...still not open but serving the menu At Sunset. Unfortunately, this eliminates yet another dining option. While the options are sparse, the food is delicious (skip the lobster pay per gram-horribly burned, yes black burned, in the Mexican restaurant). In fact, skip that fiasco all together. Great bargain, genuine people, top shelf alcohol. What's more to say?

Had the best time celebrating my sister's birthday here! The hotel staff were all very welcoming, friendly and hardworking! The pool is clean and there were activities such as water work outs, Zumba and volleyball matches throughout the day. All the restaurants here were good and they have live music/shows at night to keep you entertained. We had a romantic dinner on the beach for which includes three course lobster and steak. Booked a cabana with full service, food and drinks...totally worth it! They also have tequila tastings but it's only on Saturdays. Room was clean and had nice views. Esteban, Manuel, Jonathan, Zico, Lucia and the rest of the staff deserve a lot of praise for keeping this place running and making their guests happy! Overall, would come back for the hospitality and smiles!

Really enjoyed the view from the room we had ! Was spectacular, great customer service. Only thing was that the pool was not all that clean and the water from the shower kept switching from cold to hot and hot to cold. Other than that the food and beach is amazing !

    AMAZING

Absolutely amazing stay if you have kids amazing place to go with. Great rooms. Amazing staff. Planning to go back already.

This hotel is now called Alltura resort. We had a great experience here. Every single staff member was extremely helpful and polite. The food was definitely better than most buffet food. I enjoyed the omelette bar and the green juice for breakfast. They have cabanas to rent on the beach in case you can't find shade. They are $80 and come with a bottle of champagne, water, beer and soda. They even bring you guacamole and chips around lunch time. Not to mention you won't get eaten alive by the sun. They have a nice gym, jacuzzi, and sauna/steam room. Another favorite was the 24 hour coffee bar. Filled with coffee favorites and pastries and fruit. Special shout out to Sergio and Jesus at the front desk for being so helpful and attentive. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay!!!

5stars is for the people that work there. They were amazing. So sad to see how people treat them and they have no choice but to take it. The food was ok, Italian restaurant was much better. The Alcohol is well...... it's free I guess. Pretty poor selection and only 2 beer selections. They need to add more!!!! The atmosphere is nice and clean.

I had an amazing experience at this resort, it was all inclusive, the food and drinks were amazing. The staff was very friendly as well. I got to the resort before my check in time but they let us change and enjoy the pool/beach and food n drinks. They also had covid testing on site and it's free if you stay more than 3 nights I believe. The massages were ok. Waking up to the beach was very nice as well. They served different food each day I was there. It was an amazing experience overall with the dances, games and everything else the resort had.

Bathroom Pics ! Semi-small and our room did not have a sink in the bathroom

So for starters, this place wasn't terrible however I personally was not a fan of the resort. PROS: *Convenient: Not too far from the mall and authentic shops. We caught the local bus right outside of the resort for $1USD/one way. *ROOM: Room was pretty nice and the beds were comfortable. *Fish Spa: Probably the best 10-15 minutes of my life. CONS: *FOOD: The food selection was extremely limited and wasn't all that great. I was super excited when we went to the mall to order 20 pcs of wings from Hooters. Overall, the resort was alright. It was moreso made for individuals looking to lay up on the beach and relax. I'm not a beach person so I could care less. I probably wouldn't stay here again but I think it's worth giving it a try if you want to be in the middle of everything.

Clean, friendly staff, good food, even a healthy option restaurant, only wish it was open every day. Nice people staying there. Met some nice Europeans.

WOW This is our…read morefirst resort in Cancun and I don't think we will ever choose another one. FOOD Wow. We did our homework before our trip and saw Zilara Cancun had good/decent reviews about their food. Let me tell you, this is probably the best food I've had in a long long time. Top dishes for me are the octopus with mole and lobster tostada from Maria Marie. If you like/can eat seafood, trust me on this. The drinks are phenomenal as well. There are signature drinks at all the restaurants. Those are mostly hits but some are misses (depends on your taste buds) PRO TIP: sign up for alcohol tastings at The Den first day you get there. We did tequila and wine tasting. It was quite a unique experience. SERVICE I've never gotten treated like this in any hotel I've been at. Chef's kiss for sure. The bellhop/front desk usually can break your 20s/100s into 1s so don't feel the need to exchange pesos (unless you want to of course). The workers at the hotel (and around Cancun overall) takes USD PRO TIP: there are a lot of activities hosted by the hotel. Morning exercise classes are really fun and the night shows are just okay. The crowd is definitely on the older side that just want to come to Cancun and chill not party. From hearing the reviews, Zilara had the most amount of activities from various first hand reviews from our friends All in all, solid resort. You won't regret it!

FOOD- I overall liked the food. I wish they would have advertised/told us the buffet had different theme dinners. They were our favorite for dinner. There were good dishes at each, but nothing phenomenal. I really liked the lunches they had set up by the pool. It was overall good and on par with my expectations for an all inclusive. BEACH- this is honestly one of the highlights. The resort had one of the best beaches and ability to get in the ocean. If you want to get in the ocean, this is the spot. SERVICE - this was the most disappointing. At Excellence you cannot breathe without someone asking if you need something. It took a long time for people to check on us and we tip well. Day 4 we finally found Humberto who was THE BEST! Find him and tip him well. ROOMS- they were good and I was happy with them! POOLS- the pools were fine. A little shaded. The most annoying part was the cabana situation. Some are free, some are always paid, and some are paid on certain days. I get up at like 6AM every day anyways so I got good cabanas but if you're not an early riser you're screwed. Overall, I'd return!!

All that being said, the hubby and I stayed here for nearly a week, and the experience was so mixed that I recommend you read a lot of reviews and take into account what you can and CANNOT tolerate before you book Royalton for your Cancun vacation. I'd never been to Cancun, but I've heard so much about Cancun, that I expected the place to be vibrant, lively, and full of partying. Cancun wasn't exciting, but it wasn't completely horrible either. Although, I hated the first two days. Read below... As far as the general look of the hotel and the grounds, Royalton was top notch. The Royalton is a high-rise resort, with suites from floors 4 through 15. The first floor is CLEAN, luxurious, and spacious. If you've arranged your ground transport properly, when you step out of your car or van, the Royalton staff arrives to take your bags to your suite. When the hubby and I arrived, we were exhausted from flying and traveling (car, air train, flight, van). We had already checked in, so all we wanted to do was get to our suite, and find dinner and margaritas. We could not, because once we received our wristbands and instructions, we were swiftly passed to a woman the check in ladies described as a "concierge". She greeted us, and instead of taking us on a quick tour, she sat us down and proceeded to STEAL 30 minutes of our vacation time telling us about how we could sign up for a travel vacation club (read: TIME SHARE). She piled pamphlets in our hands, gave us a bunch of "Diamond Club" coupons, and asked for our IDs and a credit card number. Umm! No ma'am! Once she saw that we weren't game for that, she made us sign up to see a representative at breakfast in the morning. Whatever. Anything to get to our room. Turns out we were given a free upgrade to the presidential suite. We didn't ask for an upgrade - but we speculate as to why they gave us one. On sight, the suite was gorgeous. Two full bathrooms (our first time for hubby and me to have individual bathrooms for a vacation - yay!), living room, large bar area, and enough stools, tables, and sofas to throw a party. Outside was a double balcony, with an outdoor tub with jets and balcony furniture. A bathroom tub with jets. Double sized showers with the fancy rain style shower head. King size bed and plenty of closet space. It would take someone with a hospitality degree to explain to me how a room could look wonderful, but still be completely annoying to stay in. I mean, to the point where hubby and I wondered if we could get our regular room back? - SUITE large and clean, but FREEZING. Took us a half a day to figure out how to get the bedroom to a livable temperature. We had to ask for plenty of extra blankets to nest down in so we could sleep well and warmly. - Fans had to keep blowing, because once we turned them off, we noticed a distinct sewage stench. Just plain foul. Enough to make you gag. - Outdoor tub? Rusted inside. - Balcony furniture, very worn. - Indoor tub jets? HORRIFICALLY noisy. - Closet had FOUR sliding doors, which were annoying to open and often stuck. - Drawers were sleek and I guess very modern, but hard for me to use because there were no door pulls and I felt like I would break a nail every time I went to use one. - Clock? Busted and broken. - Phone? Broken. After day one, we speculated that maybe someone arrived who caused such a fuss that they gave away our original junior suite, and when we arrived, they had no choice but to stick us in the presidential suite, which truly needed a service check days before we arrived. Also, every place we went (indoors and outdoors), were salespeople. EVERYWHERE! Hubby and I were determined to make the best of all this. So let me speed this review. Ready, here are the good parts: - FOOD was amazing. Honestly, the buffet and restaurants were my favorite part of the day. The desserts rivaled what we ate at the Wynn Buffett in Vegas. Drinks were delicious. All included. Great service as well. - POOL AREA, well maintained, towels always available and super clean. The pool staff were friendly, and honestly lots of fun. We took aqua zumba and aqua fit classes. Swim up bar! Yes! - BEACH. BEAUTIFUL. No notes. I mean, we STAYED hanging out at the beach and pool. Relaxing time, really. - STAFF. Some reviewers hated the staff. I don't know what they liked about us, but these people LOVED on us. We spoke to them kindly each time we had a problem, and they were great. We needed blankets, someone delivered them in less than ten minutes. Our phone broke, someone came up to replace batteries in 20 minutes. I don't have enough YELP space to write more, but overall, I would say, vet your all inclusives well. SANDALS is MUCH BETTER, but will run you about $1800 more. Royalton could be incredible, but they need to spend time working on the experience.

As a travel agent I enjoy going to a lot of Cancun area resorts from budget to mid level to luxury…read more I would consider this adults only Royalton a great mid level resort at an affordable price point. I came with a ladies group at Spring Break and we upgraded to the Diamond Club extra, which included a private pool area, drinks on the rooftop, a separate area at the beach, and a tiny lounge area with premium drinks. We did not think it was worth the extra money because we enjoyed hanging out at the noisy activity pool and rarely went to the itsy bitsy lounge. Pros: *Food is good with a wide variety in buffet---gorgeous 2nd floor area with a view *Room was nice and the view from the ocean front is unreal *Arianny at the Diamond Club beach area was the best server ever! She was friendly, very attentive, and came by so often our drinks never were empty. (See pic) *Activity pool was hopping all the time with games, foam parties, and lots of dancing *An amazing country singer came and he sounded exactly like every artist he played. *Mexican Fiesta night was the BEST I've ever been to in Mexico with lots of food authentic food choices and delicious desserts *Melecio in Vespa was amazing and Rodolfo in La Hacienda was patient with our big group. Young waiter (David?) in Rooftop 18 was so sweet *Massage at spas first class. I had Morgan and she was great. *Entertainment came around to get guests active *Beds comfortable *Robes and slippers nice touch *Coffee shop good *rooftop pool very quiet and zen during the day *nightclub and rooftop parties were great (it would nice if they accepted song requests) *never got approached regarding time share *kindly lent us an adapter Cons: (not too many and some are small) *Elevators can be slow *Diamond Lounge tiny and location poor *hard to get reservations for dinner except very early or very late (but butler will get reservations for you if you buy full Diamond club) *a few front desk girls were a tad cold but most were very accommodating *hotel can't help this but LOTS of vendors soliciting but they don't harass you Overall I would send my clients here if they wanted a great mid level resort. I've stayed at other Royalton so I know the brand is good!

At the Spa, we highly recommend Linda. And at the Salon, there's no better than, Karina! Every restaurant had amazing service and food. I want to tell you our favorite restaurant, but they're all so good and we have a favorite something in every restaurant, so try them all! We also had so much fun playing pickle ball, chess, pool, and other games! Just a perfect week, hanging out at the pools or the beach, just everything...so much fun! Thank you to everybody at LeBlanc that made our stay extra special! And we can't wait to come back soon!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and were looking forward to a relaxing vacation. We arrived early, 7:30AM and our private transportation picked us up after about 15-20 minutes after arriving. After a quick drive to the resort, we checked in. No welcome towel service nor welcome drink, but we received a warm neck wrap. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready until 11:30AM, so we walked around to explore the property and have breakfast. We received a text message from the lobby that our room was ready and to return to the front desk. We were told our room number and that our luggage would be delivered shortly. The room had a beautiful view of the ocean, clean, stocked with snacks and drinks ,and over all nice. We unpacked ourselves and headed to the pool. While we were on the way, we met our butler who's desk is located in the hallway of the elevators. At that time we were connected to a WhatsApp group text. Then we returned to our room with our butler, who reviewed the amenities and light switches in our room. We ate at all the restaurants. We went to Blanc and Terraza for breakfast and our 2 favorite restaurants for dinner were Bella and Yama. Unfortunately, on a few occasions, Terraza and Yama served us cold food, as if they were sitting out too long. We tried scheduling room service breakfast and they were behind in schedule 30-40 minutes. We were underwhelmed as the room service menu as it wasn't as grand as the other palace resorts; we were looking forward to the chocolate cake; which wasn't available. The K'akau, coffee shop was the best to relieve our chocolate cravings. The main pool lounge chairs were always taken, so get there early. We relaxed at all the pools and depending on the day had our favorite. The beach is beautiful and the lifeguard at the tower was always welcoming and helpful to get us lounge chairs. The spa services and hydrotherapy were wonderful, but we were disappointed that the men and women were separated in the pool and jacuzzi areas. We ran into difficulties with our dinner and spa bookings. We made prior arrangements with our pre-concierge, but when we wanted to change our schedule, the on site concierge didn't have access to canceling them. We were told to email our pre-concierge to ask her to delete them from the system. Our pre-concierge also didn't confirm our restaurant bookings for certain days and so we had to ask our Butler if they were booked. What was the most disappointing was the evening entertainment. We were looking forward to certain shows/performances and then a few hours before the scheduled time, seeing the entertainment was removed and replaced with something mundane. We've been to Sun Palace, another adult only resort, down the road and after our experience at Le Blanc, we actually prefer Sun Palace over Le Blanc. From our experience.. Le Blanc is a great place if you enjoy the spa, peace and quiet, and want to just chill and lounge. But if you want a little more excitement, fun, music, and meet people and have great conversations, Sun Palace is the place. Our Butler, Rene on the 3rd floor was awesome. He made our anniversary special. Safety: We felt safe. When we arrived at the resort after walking down the hotel zone, security always checked us in. When we arrived via taxi or uber, they did the same thing. If you walked out to the beach, you have to scan your bracelet to exit the gate and also scan it the when you enter back onto the resort property. Elevators: There are 3 elevators and during our stay, 1 was always out of order. One day, 2 elevators were out of order. Luckily, we were only on the 3rd floor, so we often took the stairs. The stairwell does need more lighting, it is dark, so watch your step.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. There is a 24 hour refreshment spot, but the food is only so so. Just for a quick sandwich or fruit. They do have a beer tap and a few selections of liquor available there for self service as well. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. If you don't see any available just ask and they will make it happen if possible. My complaint about the pool would be they close at 7:00. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.

What an incredible trip!! Hands down my favorite place to stay in Cancun!…read more The hotel was stunning. We got the jacuzzi room and it felt like we had a palace! The views were insane and we felt like royalty! Our friends got the Jr Suite rooms and their rooms were equally just as nice (in case you are looking to save money, no matter what, get that frontal sea view room!!!!) The hotel is a palace and we were able to explore other hotels around (Caribe night party was super fun! And the Cancún next door was more lively at night and had better social life!) The staff were super friendly and made sure our cups were ALWAYS full and we were happy!! It's also NO KIDS, so you never had to worry about crying babies or kids running over your stuff at the pool/beach! The food: The buffet was great (not like normal hotels cheep buffets) this place had amazing staff and the quality of the fresh food was so shocking! There were endless options each day. There are also other restaurants at the hotel, our favorite was the Japanese one, the food was so good (we got multiple dumpling orders TO-GO back to our room. The steak house was good as well, just it gets BUSY and you need to book in advance to ensure you'll get a table. The Italian one was very American Average, nothing crazy stood out, but again the venue vibes were great! The 4th one, we never went to cuz the menu didn't fit our desire, but it looked cool from the outside! Cons of this hotel: The 24hr snack lounge had this kinda funky cleaning smell? I don't know how to describe it but my clothes coming home had that odor on it. Also The beach was kinda small/narrow so there wasn't much room if you came down around lunch. Chairs/loungers were also a VERY hot item and it was hard to find chairs after 10am most days. If you like to drink, there isn't that "top shelf" quality of liquor here, it's kinda average... but the bartenders were able to make virtually any drink and we never had a single bad drink! Transportation: No one (not a single person) told us that you need to confirm your return transpiration the day after you arrive (and the travel people can be found out at the stage lounge are most mornings). Riu had messed up and booked 2 out of 6 of our party on a VERY early pick up instead of having us all travel together. We had to rebook through the agent outside but I was able to get a refund when I go back home) ------------------ Overall, BOOK this hotel. The location, the perks, the quality of life here can't be beat! We are already booing our next 2 trips here LOL

The pool area, cabanas, and buffet stations were immaculate . Despite the rain, we had a fabulous time. One star deduction for not being prepared for my food allergies which the catering/ banquet staff was aware of for more than three weeks. Thankfully, the staffed hurried to find two items that I could eat. They covered for the below par communication and made it work for me to have a chicken breast and two slices of steak which were both cooked properly and were flavorful. Most importantly, the wedding couple was not impacted. They had a wonderful time.
