    Leaking water through ceiling fan

This is now Whyndham Alltra and we booked this all inclusive resort expecting Whyndham level accommodations and hospitality. We stayed here for 7 days around july 4th weekend. It started of good but with regular rains on the previous night, we woke up to a dripping soffit and waterfall walls. The water was leaking from the ceiling fan (electrical hazard) and was spreading it across the room. We called the front desk and they could only send the cleaning crew. We had to wait under the raining ceiling until noon to get another room :( this was a bit frustrating and potentially hazardous situation considering we had little kids in the room. We also experienced very limited vegetation options in the restaurants and vegetarians in our group were always limited to two buffet restaurant options. And sometimes they had to make a meal out of the options available there. Positives are the location, views and kids facilities.

Ok so I will start from the beginning. CHECK-IN: We had to check in with security outside and do temperature checks. Then we had to check in which took about 20 minutes because it was 3 of us in three different rooms and had to all sign paperwork.Oh also during the day they turn the A/C off in the lobby so you feel like your in a oven during the day. But during the evening/nighttime they have the fans on with the wind outside blowing so it's very cool which was good for me. Oh also be prepared to pay an additional 7 dollars when you check in because of some "travel tax" which is crazy. THE ROOMS: I was on the 6th floor with a king size bed. The room was really nice and you can make the room as cold or hot as you want. The mini bar isn't filled with just liquor. It's comprised of 4 or 5 bottles of water, three tiny liquor bottles, two cans of beer, and two coconut waters. The room was very clean and the staff did a great job with cleaning each day. THE FOOD: Ok so honestly this was the worst part about the trip for me breakfast in Ventanas was exceptional and you can order everything fresh(waffles, pancakes, omelets, and other stuff as well, the staff was attentive and always made sure everything was ok. But outside by the pool the hotdogs, hamburgers, and nachos are DISGUSTING . There was no seasoning on the food at any of the restaurants we tried except for ventanas so the safest choice is to eat there for breakfast and lunch and either go to Viaggio for dinner or go out and explore downtown Cancun for food it's much better. THE DRINKS: So if you are not a picky person and don't mind drinking bottom shelf liquor this is the place for you. The only down side is that they don't provide liquor from 11pm- 11am so you will need to get a bottle or two from downtown or the surrounding liquor stores for a cheaper price then the hotel will sell you. The bar staff was great and always made sure we were satisfied. We had a great time at the bar. EXCHANGE RATE/AND CURRENCY: Ok so coming in we really didn't know where the best place to exchange for currency was. So currently the overall currency rate is 1USD TO 20 pesos. So at the airport the exchange rate for USD TO PESOS IS 1USD - 18.00 pesos. At Panama Jack the exchange rate is 1USD - 17.50 pesos. THE BEST PLACE TO EXCHANGE CURRENCY, is at the surrounding banks they close at 5pm open at 8am. The exchange rate was 1USD to 19.50 it's literally a .5mile walk to the left of the hotel. Also if you want to tip your servers ,or anyone that provides a service I suggest giving them singles in USD they are more appreciative. TRANSPORTATION: To ride the bus it's 12 pesos a person the bus drivers will see that you are a tourist and will try to swindle you the first time I paid 36 pesos and a person on the bus told me it was 12 pesos. So learn from my mistake. Also you can pay with American singles just make sure you get correct change which would be 8 pesos. We took the bus down town to go party and then Would take a taxi back because the later it gets the slower the busses come(they come like every hour after 12am). The taxi will be like 10-15 USD depending on how many ppl and the distance. They have taxis at the hotel so you don't have to call. THE SPA: So we had a resort credit but with hidden underlines. So you can use 35 dollars of the 200 dollar credit but it had to be for the 80 min massage you couldn't use it for the 50 min massage. So after that fine print was handled we had our massages Gorgina was great and she massaged all of the spots that needed to be worked on and the sauna and steam room was nice. LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE KIDS: Ok so I understood it would be a family friendly hotel, but this was just a lot honestly. The kids were running around crazy no supervision and literally were just very loud and disruptive. Honestly if I ever do come back to Cancun it will be at an adults only all inclusive. This resort is literally for children, families, or couples. Pros:The rooms ,drinks ,close proximity to everything, and breakfast at ventanas. Cons: The food quality and taste at all of the other restaurants and the kids.

We had an incredible 7 day vacation here. Don't come here if you don't like children because this is a family resort. This resort had a friendly, hard-working staff. We were actually kind of blown away by how great the staff was. All-inclusive doesn't mean not tipping your staff. It was upsetting to see how many people didn't provide gratuity. Everything about this resort was fun, delicious, and clean. I think the problem is that people think they're going to get a 5 star resort without paying for a 5 star resort. You get more than what you paid for here. We enjoyed everything about this resort!

We visited Panama Jack Cancun mid February 2020, and overall recommend this hotel. This is a family friendly resort, and not appropriate for a couple looking for a romantic vacation. This place does an amazing job catering to the children at this resort, and this was what brought us here to begin with. We arrived with 2 adults, 1 child and were able to check-in immediately at 2pm. I was so suprised a room was ready for us, but they even had one with 2 beds as we requested. We had the beach front walkout, and although the cabana rows block most of the view, the ability to go from room to the beach in just a few steps is awesome. The rooms were a little more "beat up" than presented on the website (as most Cancun hotels are) and was an older resort. The service is what will bring us back here again, along with the the kids pool and variety of activities. On the first day, my son was hesitant to go to the kids club, but they promised to play video games with him for 30 minutes so he ended up staying. That was an awesome feature and safe place for him to go while I took a nap. I had a massage and boy scrub at the spa, and was able to negotiate prices by bundling services. The massage area was pretty beat up, with part of the ceiling coming down. Honestly the worst looking thing at the resort. I traveled with my brother, who wanted to go on a fishing charter and was able to arrange one right at the resort with Best Day in the lobby. He caught some fish, and brought it back to the hotel where we were able to have it cooked for us. It was all arranged by Javier at the Italian restaurant, and he's amazing. They made a custom dinner for us out of the fish that was simply amazing. We visited the Italian restaurant 3 times because of Javier this week, and his attention to detail and service. My son is allergic to tree nuts and they custom made him a variety of things that weren't on the menu. The morning barista at the coffee co was great, I feel terrible I can't remember his name. He made foam hearts on my cappuccino every morning. Nightly entertainment was fun, especially the fire show. I really enjoyed karaoke in the lobby bar after too many margaritas. We loved our stay and actually visited the VIP area many times, because of the alcohol available there. I tried a couple of well drinks around the pool and couldn't handle them, the quality was just really bad. The most disappointing part of our stay was the Mexican restaurant. I am certain the employees are ashamed to serve what was called Mexican food here. The only good thing was the guacamole at the restaurant, the rest was a bunch of dry tortillas and meat. I ordered some tacos that couldn't even be described as tacos, really. My only other complaint is lack of monitoring of the reserved cabanas. I had to kick people out of our assigned cabana 3 times during the stay (one came with our room) people spilled drinks on ours, then when I tried to enjoy it, I was bitten by ants that were after the spilled Pina colada. I guess I wasn't able to clean it enough before the ants arrived. What sets this place apart from other Cancun resorts: -Kid friendly, not just kid welcome -Kids pool was heated -kids allowed at all resort restaurants -Staff are all friendly -Nightly entertainment that's pretty decent -They have Karaoke -Allergy friendly Where they could improve: -Updates of the aesthetics in/around the resort -better quality alcohol around the common areas -Food quality was mediocre at best

With the end of the "all-inclusive" with class in Mexico, Panama Jack's Resort is still a good bang for your buck. In fact, I've stayed at this resort under a few different signs out front. There has always been a hiccup of sort over the last 5 years, but it's so minor compared to the same price point of an Oasis hotel; or god forbid, the Crown Paradise line. This time, the check in came with someone already in our suite eating my return guest gift. Lol but, they quickly upgraded us to club level and all was laughed away. Our previous favorite restaurant, Something Pesacatore, has been replaced with Viaggio...still not open but serving the menu At Sunset. Unfortunately, this eliminates yet another dining option. While the options are sparse, the food is delicious (skip the lobster pay per gram-horribly burned, yes black burned, in the Mexican restaurant). In fact, skip that fiasco all together. Great bargain, genuine people, top shelf alcohol. What's more to say?

Had the best time celebrating my sister's birthday here! The hotel staff were all very welcoming, friendly and hardworking! The pool is clean and there were activities such as water work outs, Zumba and volleyball matches throughout the day. All the restaurants here were good and they have live music/shows at night to keep you entertained. We had a romantic dinner on the beach for which includes three course lobster and steak. Booked a cabana with full service, food and drinks...totally worth it! They also have tequila tastings but it's only on Saturdays. Room was clean and had nice views. Esteban, Manuel, Jonathan, Zico, Lucia and the rest of the staff deserve a lot of praise for keeping this place running and making their guests happy! Overall, would come back for the hospitality and smiles!

Really enjoyed the view from the room we had ! Was spectacular, great customer service. Only thing was that the pool was not all that clean and the water from the shower kept switching from cold to hot and hot to cold. Other than that the food and beach is amazing !

This hotel is now called Alltura resort. We had a great experience here. Every single staff member was extremely helpful and polite. The food was definitely better than most buffet food. I enjoyed the omelette bar and the green juice for breakfast. They have cabanas to rent on the beach in case you can't find shade. They are $80 and come with a bottle of champagne, water, beer and soda. They even bring you guacamole and chips around lunch time. Not to mention you won't get eaten alive by the sun. They have a nice gym, jacuzzi, and sauna/steam room. Another favorite was the 24 hour coffee bar. Filled with coffee favorites and pastries and fruit. Special shout out to Sergio and Jesus at the front desk for being so helpful and attentive. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay!!!

5stars is for the people that work there. They were amazing. So sad to see how people treat them and they have no choice but to take it. The food was ok, Italian restaurant was much better. The Alcohol is well...... it's free I guess. Pretty poor selection and only 2 beer selections. They need to add more!!!! The atmosphere is nice and clean.

    AMAZING

Absolutely amazing stay if you have kids amazing place to go with. Great rooms. Amazing staff. Planning to go back already.

I had an amazing experience at this resort, it was all inclusive, the food and drinks were amazing. The staff was very friendly as well. I got to the resort before my check in time but they let us change and enjoy the pool/beach and food n drinks. They also had covid testing on site and it's free if you stay more than 3 nights I believe. The massages were ok. Waking up to the beach was very nice as well. They served different food each day I was there. It was an amazing experience overall with the dances, games and everything else the resort had.

Bathroom Pics ! Semi-small and our room did not have a sink in the bathroom

So for starters, this place wasn't terrible however I personally was not a fan of the resort. PROS: *Convenient: Not too far from the mall and authentic shops. We caught the local bus right outside of the resort for $1USD/one way. *ROOM: Room was pretty nice and the beds were comfortable. *Fish Spa: Probably the best 10-15 minutes of my life. CONS: *FOOD: The food selection was extremely limited and wasn't all that great. I was super excited when we went to the mall to order 20 pcs of wings from Hooters. Overall, the resort was alright. It was moreso made for individuals looking to lay up on the beach and relax. I'm not a beach person so I could care less. I probably wouldn't stay here again but I think it's worth giving it a try if you want to be in the middle of everything.

Clean, friendly staff, good food, even a healthy option restaurant, only wish it was open every day. Nice people staying there. Met some nice Europeans.

Of course. I only added Eddie into the service section and left everything else the same…read more I have gone back and forth on writing this review because there are so many things this resort does well, but overall my experience did not quite match the expectations I had from previous Hyatt stays. This was not my first visit to Hyatt Zilara Cancun and it was actually my amazing experience here in 2019 that started my loyalty to Hyatt. I am currently a World of Hyatt Discoverist member, and after my first visit to Zilara, we loved the Hyatt experience so much that we chose Hyatt Ziva for our vow renewal in 2022. Because of that, returning to Zilara was something I had looked forward to for years. First, the staff at this resort deserves so much recognition. My concerns are not a reflection of the employees because the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. From before we even arrived to our final day, everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted guests to have a great experience. Before our trip, Eddie reached out as our concierge and was extremely helpful in making sure we were prepared for our stay. He helped coordinate our spa services ahead of time and assisted us with securing a late checkout, which made our trip much smoother and more relaxing. At check-in, Luis helped us on the World of Hyatt side and was wonderful. He explained the changes and additions to the resort, helped us understand reservations, and made sure we had the information we needed. Throughout the resort, the service remained consistent. Even when I had a meal I didn't enjoy, a staff member at the teppanyaki restaurant was genuinely concerned, offered alternatives, and wanted to make it right. That level of care stood out. Our room was excellent. We stayed on the fifth floor in a corner room and it was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was fantastic, and I loved the pillows so much I am actually trying to find out what kind they are so I can buy them for home. The bathroom was great, especially the mirror with multiple lighting options. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, which I always appreciate. The only thing I personally missed was having a bathtub, but overall I had no complaints about the room. The resort itself is beautiful and extremely clean. The pool area is relaxing with comfortable chairs, and it was never difficult to find a place to sit. The atmosphere is definitely more quiet and relaxing rather than a party environment, which can be a positive depending on the type of trip you want. The beach was well maintained, especially considering the seaweed situation during our visit. The staff worked hard to keep it cleaned up, and the things outside of the resort's control, like weather and ocean conditions, did not impact my opinion. The spa was absolutely phenomenal and I wrote a separate review specifically for that experience because it deserves its own recognition. The gym was also impressive for a resort gym. There was plenty of equipment, treadmills, a stretching/yoga space, and even a Pilates studio. I was hoping to participate in Pilates, but the class filled up quickly. I thought the fitness offerings were a nice addition. Where this stay fell short for me was the food. At an all-inclusive resort, the food experience is such a huge part of the overall value because you are eating every meal on property. When we visited in 2019, one of our favorite memories was eating at Pelicanos by the pool, so we were excited to return there first. We knew things had changed since our last visit, but unfortunately the quality and options did not feel the same. We tried several restaurants, and while the service was always great, the food itself was disappointing. The Italian restaurant felt very bland overall, although the bread service and tiramisu were enjoyable. The cacio e pepe and pasta dishes did not meet expectations. The teppanyaki experience also was not what I expected. I was hoping for more of a traditional hibachi-style experience, and the meat quality was disappointing. The buffet was fine, especially breakfast, but nothing really stood out. Room service was quick and the staff was friendly, but again the food itself was not something we loved. My favorite treat on property ended up being the ice cream at the coffee shop. The biggest thing I missed was having easy poolside food options. When I'm at an all-inclusive, I love being able to relax by the pool and grab things like quesadillas, ceviche, or small bites without stopping the pool day. The lack of that type of experience was probably my biggest disappointment. Drinks and pool service were great, and the staff did a wonderful job checking on guests. I personally don't drink alcohol, but it was clear they were attentive with beverages. Entertainment was limited compared to some other all-inclusive resorts. There were some activities and a few performances, but not the larger

WOW This is our…read morefirst resort in Cancun and I don't think we will ever choose another one. FOOD Wow. We did our homework before our trip and saw Zilara Cancun had good/decent reviews about their food. Let me tell you, this is probably the best food I've had in a long long time. Top dishes for me are the octopus with mole and lobster tostada from Maria Marie. If you like/can eat seafood, trust me on this. The drinks are phenomenal as well. There are signature drinks at all the restaurants. Those are mostly hits but some are misses (depends on your taste buds) PRO TIP: sign up for alcohol tastings at The Den first day you get there. We did tequila and wine tasting. It was quite a unique experience. SERVICE I've never gotten treated like this in any hotel I've been at. Chef's kiss for sure. The bellhop/front desk usually can break your 20s/100s into 1s so don't feel the need to exchange pesos (unless you want to of course). The workers at the hotel (and around Cancun overall) takes USD PRO TIP: there are a lot of activities hosted by the hotel. Morning exercise classes are really fun and the night shows are just okay. The crowd is definitely on the older side that just want to come to Cancun and chill not party. From hearing the reviews, Zilara had the most amount of activities from various first hand reviews from our friends All in all, solid resort. You won't regret it!

I came with a ladies group at Spring Break and we upgraded to the Diamond Club extra, which included a private pool area, drinks on the rooftop, a separate area at the beach, and a tiny lounge area with premium drinks. We did not think it was worth the extra money because we enjoyed hanging out at the noisy activity pool and rarely went to the itsy bitsy lounge. Pros: *Food is good with a wide variety in buffet---gorgeous 2nd floor area with a view *Room was nice and the view from the ocean front is unreal *Arianny at the Diamond Club beach area was the best server ever! I've stayed at other Royalton so I know the brand is good!

The view of from the infinity edge looking out to the ocean can't be beat. I did have lunch at their pool side restaurant which the special of the day was poke and it was delicious. Service was also friendly and prompt. As I was there on a day pass they held my passport u til I returned the key card to access the gym/locker room and the two towel cards. I really enjoyed they have a lending library and I got to pickup a book while there. In usual fashion, pool chairs were reserved as soon as the day starts which made it harder to find a prime seat. They also had a competition at the pool area that was entertaining to watch. Restrooms could have been better marked for directions as I wondered we around for a hot minute to find the ones labeled on the maps. Maybe it was just me? Overall great day at the property and I'll stay here next time to get the full experience.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. There is a 24 hour refreshment spot, but the food is only so so. Just for a quick sandwich or fruit. They do have a beer tap and a few selections of liquor available there for self service as well. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. If you don't see any available just ask and they will make it happen if possible. My complaint about the pool would be they close at 7:00. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.

Our previous hotel left a lot to be desired, so this was a very welcome change. From the entrance way I was impressed with the decor walking through the garden and pool area I was in awe of how beautiful everything was. The room was immaculately clean, and while it was a standard room it was very nice and spacious and the marble flooring was such a nice touch. The shower was huge !!! We got in late so I assumed finding food would be a struggle , wrong again they offered 3 dining options late night as well as room service!!! The restaurant we found had amazing drinks and the food was so fresh and good ugh ! The restaurant was Cafe Urbano . The next morning we woke up and we were able to have a delicious breakfast with plenty of options including fresh fruit and let me tell you that in room coffee is also amazing! I honestly cannot wait to return to Cancun. I would definitely stay at this resort again. I've stayed at a several of hotels in Cancun and this is on the list of must return!!

That's someone I will take on my team anytime. During our stay, we had several glitches, and Fidel provided a professional outlet for us to express ourselves while maintaining brand standards. He has a difficult job and does it very well. BANQUETS REVIEW My friends hosted a Private pool party at Presidente InterContinental Cancun in August went on without a hitch. The pool area, cabanas, and buffet stations were immaculate . Despite the rain, we had a fabulous time. One star deduction for not being prepared for my food allergies which the catering/ banquet staff was aware of for more than three weeks. Thankfully, the staffed hurried to find two items that I could eat. They covered for the below par communication and made it work for me to have a chicken breast and two slices of steak which were both cooked properly and were flavorful. Most importantly, the wedding couple was not impacted. They had a wonderful time.

There is a thermostat in the rooms, but guests have no control of it- the ac seems to turn itself off during the night. There is no space on one side of each bed, so I had to crawl either over my husband or off the bed via the bottom of the bed during the night. There is only one plug in the bedroom. "Included" WiFi was not functioning at all during at least 1/3 of our stay with no communication of this information, no apology and never an idea of when it would be reinstated. Then there is the "all inclusive " food. Breakfast is the only partially passable meal, but only if you want to eat eggs or toast (that is toasted on one side only??). The oatmeal is the consistency of water. The one day I tried to eat lunch ("served until 5pm??) no one would take my order. Then eventually they told me i could come back in an hour (at 2pm?!?). The one day we ate dinner most items were not warm and the dessert i tried had such a bad taste, i spit it out. We arrived back late one day from a tour of Chiten Itzá and I was quite hungry, it was 10pm and dinner was until 11pm. Most everything looked to be cold so i asked if they could make some French fries (the kitchen staff was just standing around) but they said no. We tried to speak with them at the front desk x2 about these issues, but were responded either with platitudes and then with a defensive response bordering on yelling. I also witnessed the front desk full on yelling at another "guest" . The "golf course "? There is none- it's been closed for years. I do not think the owners of this facility care one bit for the experience of the guests. If you have read this far... PLEASE do NOT stay here. Not recommended.
