Then I remember I had zoombites cards! I texted them what I needed and a shirt while later the young guy was here with exactly what I needed! Order a single entrée, make a salad, and you've got a meal. Big crowd coming over next Saturday? Order multiple portions and you're going to impress the heck out of your guests. And the BEST part? Oleg does all the work for you! Everything arrives pre-chopped in individual numbered baggies. You simply "add #1" to the pan, "mix in #2" and follow the easy-to-read directions until - quite miraculously - you've got a beautiful meal ready to serve. It's so easy even my cooking-challenged spouse has managed to churn out some dinner deliciousness when I'm not home! And it's a great way to teach the kids how to cook. SPO's menu also changes weekly, so there is always something new to choose from when you order ahead on the website. One of my recent favorites was the Chicken Yakisoba, which Oleg had featured at his recent Yelp event and which I was dying to try again. It's challenging because of my physical limitations, but to top it off, the intercom system doesn't always work properly, so some people wind up getting through to a tenant who is someone they don't know. The gal who was the driver last night made a point of following me all the way to my apartment with my order. Their office and dispatch people are just as friendly and fussy about "doing things right." We were there to really only catch a few items of produce and fruit, plus, a loaf of bread, hot dog buns, and such -- so really most of our activity was centered at one end of the store, leaving most of the store quite unseen. I believe we were both quite shocked at what we thought were rather high prices for the offerings within the produce and fruits section. There were a few items marked down as 'specials', but even those were not especially "special", when compared to what she and I find shopping elsewhere. We ended up only purchasing a couple of large, nice-looking yams (at a good price), a net-bag of several cooking onions, and a large, field cucumber (at just barely-ok prices), and brand-name bread & buns (on special, at rather decent prices). We 'passed' on other fresh produce, and fruit offerings of consideration before we entered, and checked them out for quality and pricing. I used to use a couple other frozen food delivery services but found that their portions weren't quite enough for a family of four, whereas the Real Meal portions (the larges) are really good for a family of 4. So far I have placed about 15 different orders each of 4 various family meals, so that's a total of about 60 meals I've had thanks to Real Meals. We have made three orders so far for busy work weeks. The Shepard's pie is my favourite. The soups are hearty and great portions. We are happy with the quality of food, the delivery service and the ease at which we can order online. Finally, a food delivery service that doesn't get boring after one week.
