Monroe has a number of Latin-themed restaurants tucked behind or in-between the glut of American eateries which dominate Roosevelt Blvd (I-74) for miles. This place is no exception and unless you know precisely where it's located. you'll drive right on by.
We stopped for an early dinner on Friday and were greeted warmly and promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly speaking enough English to match my lack of Spanish. No problemo! We ordered anyway.
Lori and I were split on the food. She thought her chicken lacked flavor and then she tasted my pork chops. "Wow, they're good!" Next time.
Overall, I liked this little Guatemalan bakery and restaurant with its 6 or 7 tables. The menu is in Spanish and they speak little English (or at least this visit). Credit cards accepted. My two-star dings are for cleanliness and a low health score (87).
