On my drive home from Washoe Valley, I was craving something sweet. I thought about chocolate chip cookies. But I wanted something from a bakery. I couldn't think of a bakery. Then I thought of my favorite place for mexican pastries! I headed straight to Panaderia Azteca. I have been here before but forgot about the wide variety of pastries! There are so many cake types! Some traditional sweet breads, some empanadas, even donuts. There is literally a wall of different types of pastries! You get a tray and tongs, then pick what you want! Each pastry tastes great! Definitely homemade. There is also an area that sells homemade churros and tres leches. They also serve tortas, which are fantastic! Good size and good price! They have tamales too. The parking lot is small and can be difficult to get around, but its worth it!

Ordered this cake the night before my sons 4th bday party. Totally my fault for waiting until the last minute but they got it to me before his party the next day at noon. Very thankful and everyone enjoyed the cake, especially my son.

Right when you step through the door the smell of the pastries welcomes you in. That's how you know it's fresh and good. The place is small and quaint. There's an abundance of different Mexican pastries and breads. I usually come here for the flan, tres leches, and churros. Seriously some of the best Mexican desserts I have had are from here. For those of you who haven't tried any of those, I highly recommend coming here to check it out. They also sell tortas and various other Mexican snacks and drinks for those of you that don't have a sweet tooth. The ladies who run the bakery are super sweet and hardworking. You can tell they make everything with love and care. All the portions are huge and so affordable! Not to mention delicious as well. By far my favorite Panaderia!

This is such a cozy and unique restaurant. Everything we ordered was something I had never tried before. We started with cocktails. They have a big variety of margaritas, beer, and other signature drinks. For our appetizers we ordered the blue corn bread which is served on a mini cast iron skillet. This corn bread is sweet, but also has some spicy chili flavor. We shared the fish ceviche with tuna. It was so fresh and the flavors were out of this world. Tangy, sour, a little spicy. For my main I went with the special for that weekend which was the Sea Bass. So flaky and buttery. It was served on top of a kind of fried rice. Overall great experience here. I would prepare for a 2hr experience so that you can enjoy all meals equally!

The numerous booths were cute, but really too small for four people. there were quite a few larger tables for eight or 10 people. Four four , It's a lot of cozy togetherness, which is probably fine for a family, but not for other circumstances. The halibut entrée was very good. The short ribs were kind of average. The other two guests were mixed in their review of the entrées as well. Our our server was super nice , attentive and knowledgeable - while he was with us - but would disappear for long periods of time such that we had to get up to get their attention several times to get additional items. The restaurant was not particularly crowded, but there was something going on at another nearby table - perhaps a VIP, family friends or owner (?) that attracted a gathering of several servers for long periods of time, so it was hard to get our servers attention. I'd be surprised if that was a common scenario, but it happened while we were there. Ambient noise was fine . Prices were on the higher side for my expectation, but the presentation was very nice. It was pretty good, would probably do 3 1/2 stars if I could, but it definitely isn't equal to the various four stars I've rated locally.

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good. Tacos are always subjective, but I'd absolutely recommend giving Ana's a try because there's something for everyone on the menu. The cocktails are fun too, and I'll definitely be back.

After doing me best To order in Spanish I realized the lady working there spoke perfect English. Haha. I ordered a shrimp burrito with everything and 3 street tacos all to go. It took a long time for the food to come out. There was a large party order that they were getting ready so I waited a long time. It was so long that I expected them to offer me a free coffee or soda but they didn't. The food finally came and it was a solid 4. The shrimp burrito was tasty and the shrimp was cooked really well. The tacos were good too. I'll def be back next time I'm in Reno.

Mexcal is a taco joint serving up elevated tacos that you can order one by one. These things are loaded up with protein and toppings, and they do not skimp on the portions! The flavor combinations are absolutely unreal, and I love that they have some unique protein options, too. I tried the duck confit, the spicy lamb, and the short rib tacos. My dad ordered the al pastor and quesabirria tacos. We both agreed that the short rib was our favorite. Tender short rib in a delicious sauce topped with fresh guac. Fantastic! I was also shocked by how much duck they loaded up the duck confit taco with. That was probably my second favorite. Super tender duck with tons of flavor. The vibe here is casual, but it can be a nice, elevated date night spot. I really enjoy that you can order one or two tacos and then order more if you're still hungry. The service between orders is fast enough that you don't have to feel pressured to order them all at the same time. My wife's regular taco was chicken and mine was chorizo. I enjoyed my chorizo taco also. The tacos came with both a green and red sauce, both of which were good. The red sauce had a slight kick to it. Overall the food and tacos were good. Simple menu. Lunch specials available. Complimentary chips and salsa - The salsa was thin, I prefer a thicker salsa. Not much quantity so we had to ask for more. They gave us a little more. Seemed kind of stingy. Ambiance - Decent size location. Not busy at all on a Friday prime dinner time. This should have been a sign... Table, booth, and bar seating. Limited mall parking in front, but no problem getting a good space. Your outside signage needs some repairs. Service - Just okay. I had to ask for everything; utensils, more chips, etc. The younger female employee was better than the older one. Price - $19; reasonable. Plus a more generous tip then earned... But I did NOT appreciate the hidden charges. 50¢ extra for chorizo. 3.5% credit card fee. If you disclosed it, it would NOT have made a difference, but nowhere on the menu nor did any employee mention these additional charges. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018...?

The bread arrives with that perfect crusty exterior and airy interior that holds up beautifully once it's "drowned" in the vibrant, slightly spicy tomato-chile sauce. The pork inside is tender and flavorful, and the balance of acidity, heat, and richness feels fresh rather than heavy. It tastes remarkably close to what you'd find in Jalisco, which makes it feel genuinely authentic rather than a watered-down version for tourists. We also got tacos dorados de papa and those were pretty amazing too. The micheladas and chavelas are just as impressive. They're crisp, well-seasoned, and perfectly chilled, with just the right amount of lime, spice, and salt on the rim. They pair incredibly well with the tortas and make the whole meal feel even more special. On top of the food and drinks, the service really elevates the experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what they serve, checking in just enough without hovering.
