I love their shawarma pizza. It's perfect! Their garlic sauce is amazing. The pizza isn't on the menu but they'll make it for you. It's great. Only downfall is I find it a bit pricey. I would only eat here as a special treat. Not Friday night pizza

Great food, friendly staff, and consistently good service. Everything I've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and well prepared.

Martha's Pizza II - Bacon Cheeseburger in the bag

Review is closer to a 1.3/5, or a 2/10. Ordered last night through Uber Eats. Ordered a large…read moredonair sub without veg, and a bacon cheeseburger with fries, without veg, and asked for some ketchup included. They very clearly don't bother reading the requests, because they had full veg on the sub, and onions on the burger. But that itself wasn't the problem... The food was just terrible. The sub fell apart upon opening, with the cheese and meat both falling off the bread immediately. Bread was both overly toasted and way too soft to hold the ingredients, and apparently the donair sauce was on the side with the burger and fries, something I wasn't told of. Reason I didn't look? Cause the entire container was open and just tossed in the bag without any care. The burger was overcooked and tasted of the grill, with the only reason it was edible at all being the okay bacon on top. The fries were actually alright, the only reason I wouldn't give it a straight 1, as they were crispy and tasted good, but I also know for a fact that they're the same kind of frozen fries you can get at the grocery store. But hey, not gonna judge, they were the best thing I got. Got two portions of donair sauce, they were okay, but again, wasn't informed they were even in the bag. All in all...Awful food from a place I know can make really good stuff. I understand it was Christmas, but if you can't make the same quality of food, there's no reason to be open at all during the holidays.

Ordered delivery and really liked their donair - better than Tony's to me. Meat was good thickness…read moreand well seasoned, wrap bread held up well. Also enjoyed some pizza. Delivery was faster than expected which was nice.

I got on with my life, moved west to Calgary and other cities and ate 100's of pizza 's. I was always comparing them to Tom's. Never quite made the grade. This week driving into Halifax, I saw the sign "Tomasos Pizzeria " and wondered if it was the same place. I ordered two pies on the way home from the hospital. When I entered the shop I asked if it was the same Tomasos that was originally located in the Hydrostone and the young man said YES!! He even pointed to an old newspaper photo on Tomaso on the wall by the door Took them home and for me it was like a taste from the past, only word to describe the taste and texture is "GRRRREAT!!! My wife, niece and friend ate it and said it was "very good". We stopped for another round tonight and the conclusion was "the best pizza they ever ate". You have to try it for yourself because I can guarantee that you will like it if not love it. Everything is fresh and great guality. The sauce is the original recipe of Tomaso's mom. So glad too have found it again thank you to the staff of Tomasos.

Spoiler: it's not quite Naples, but it's the best pizza I've had in this city. The atmosphere is cozy, service is friendly if a bit slow, and they've got Italian beers on tap plus solid wine options. The pizza itself is thicker than traditional Neapolitan--somewhere between thin crust and hand-tossed--but the flavor profile is close. The dough lacks that signature airy stretch you get in Naples, but it's still leagues above typical Halifax pizza. I tried the Margherita (a lot less tomato forward than anything you'd find in Naples) and an EVOO pie (the olive oil was much more robust--my favorite). Thankfully, they don't do the stingy 1-2 basil leaves thing you get in Naples. The EVOO one had prosciutto and arugula that was an excellent touch, you could tell that they liked to use quality ingredients. Real fresh mozzarella on everything, not the cheap shredded stuff. Best pizza in Halifax? Possibly, but that might not be saying much. Worth the trip? Yes. Will I be back? Definitely, but next time I'm getting the pasta.

We all ordered donairs, of course. I got a large. Only do that if you came reeeeaally hungry. It's massive. Like, really massive. I think this donair restored my faith in humanity for providing reasonably priced, filling, delicious meals. Or it just spoke to the carnivous Texan soul. It's the first and only donair I've had but really set a bar for any I will have in the future! Seriously stuffed with meat, messy to eat, and packed with sweet and spice and flavor. I couldn't eat one every day (unlike a gyro, there are very little veggies here) but it was a great meal and one that I'll remember more than some others I've paid 2-3x as much for. I also tried someone's poutine and found it reasonable, but I've only had a few and they're kind of similar. This one was hot with some nice and rich gravy. Would definitely recommend a try!

The Short Version: Pizza Corner is the intersection of…read moreBlowers St and Grafton St in Halifax. Originally it was named Pizza Corner because 3 of the restaurants at this intersection sold pizza (the other corner is occupied by a church). The Long Version: Pizza Corner got its name in the 1990s. The original restaurants at this intersection of Grafton and Blowers Streets were The European Food Shop, King of Donair and Sicilian Pizza. It is where drunk university students would get their late night fill of pizza, donairs, poutine and other such foods. Since I never lived in Halifax, I learned about this iconic intersection from my Haligonian friends and Dalhousie university alumni friends. On my first visit to Halifax, I went to Pizza Corner and got a donair at King of Donair. It was too sweet and too messy, in my opinion. I was not a fan. King of Donair is long gone. In fact, the only one of the original businesses that remains (as of August 2026) is Sicilian Pizza. The spot where King of Donair was is now a restaurant called Atithi Indian Takeout and Pizza. They are primarily an Indian restaurant but added pizza to their menu to keep the tradition of Pizza Corner alive. I respect that! The spot where The European Food Shop used to be is now a Rosie's Burger. They don't sell pizza, but they do sell poutine and other greasy food like burgers, fries and onion rings. I have no nostalgia for Pizza Corner, but I can understand people who do. The story behind this corner is fun. With the landscape of the area changing, I think I'll grab a slice of pizza at Sicilian Pizza the next time I'm back in Halifax so I can say I actually had pizza at Pizza Corner, and at one of the OG places too boot!
