It's a slice and donair place that also delivers. We tried the pepperoni the other night and were surprised with the size. One slice is basically the size of two but they don't cut it in half. We were served slices from the display case and they were warm but not hot. Next time I'll ask for mine to be heated up. For me it was ok. I would try it again. Outdoor seating was lovely. Okay, so I've never gone here per se, however, when travelling to Halifax I've ordered through Skip the Dishes from here and everytime I'm not disappointed. Now, this place doesn't have the best donair, wings, and/or pizza, but it does have good donair, wings, and pizza. That said, this place has the best donair, wings, and pizza that you can get delivered and that in and of itself is worth the 4 star rating to me. Let's start with the wings. I'm from Upstate NY, we KNOW good wings, and this place gets a solid 6/10 for their wings. They're not great, but their delivery method ensures that they are hot when they arrive and they are decently sized. The key here is the price, roughly $20 for 2 dozen wings is unheard of and for the price, these wings exceed my expectations. I love that there is an option right in Skip the Dishes to have the sauce on the side. That said, the sauce here, specifically the hot sauce, that's a 10/10 which is the wings saving grace. It's spicy, but flavorful, kind of tangy and keeps me wanting more! Truly well done! The donair, it's a donair...pita, meat, tomatoes, onions, sauce. The thing here though is that the meat is actually pretty darn good, solid 9/10 for the flavor of the meat alone. The pizza though, solid 8/10 easily. The dough is crunchy, thicker, but not too thick with good flavor. Even better, it holds up to the toppings which they don't skimp out on. They literally LOAD the pizzas up with the toppings you order and for the price, you cannot beat their quality. Is it the best pizza? No, not by a long stretch, but for delivery in Halifax it is the best you can get and I wouldn't order from anywhere else. That said, I will continue to order pizza and wings from here and you should do the same! read more

Can't remember the price but it's a big slice, decent amount of diced toppings, overall good. Friendly staff. Hello all, we have no idea how this business stays in business. We live in the tantallon area, where they just bought a business. We have been here for 15 years with only one complaint, a hair in our pizza, the owner was devastated, and compensated us. Since Randy's pizza has taken over it has been a horrible experience. The first pizza we ordered was half works and half greek. It was so wet and raw, the same we have always ordered from the previous owners. We called and complained, they offered a free pizza even though we were outside of the 24 hr complaint window. So we got it and it was okay but still soft. On the weekend we ordered a half works and a half barbecue chicken......OH MY GOD THE DOUGH WAS STILL DOUGH because it was supper, we each had a piece, but I called to complain, and they apologized, and said our next pizza would be on them. I called this evening and was told " I am sorry we can't please you, but we don't need your business. I hope you have better luck elsewhere. " tomorrow I will bring the receipt for a refund, wish us well. read more

Honestly, some of the best fast food nachos and garlic fingers I've had in this city. I do also really love their pizza. Not the best donair, but still decent for the price and so close to my apartment that when I'm lazy I can just grab something quickly. The staff are all super friendly and very nice! I can't speak for the pizza, but we ordered donairs from here last night and were more than pleased. We ordered two large donairs, and if you order two large donairs they throw in a small donair, which was awesome. The guy on the phone was funny and friendly. They estimated 40 minutes for delivery and it was almost exactly 40 minutes, which was nice. Our total was $21, not bad. The donairs were fantastic. The meat was spicier than usual which I really like, sliced really thinly and just a bit crispy. They also added the perfect amount of sauce and onions/tomatoes. It was the best donair I've had in the HRM as of now. Would order again in an instant. read more

If you're ready to eat a quarter pizza, come on down to Randy's. I guess the proliferation of pizza places in this city means the portion sizes have increased as a way of offering something special to customers. Randy's serves up a full quarter of a pie for just over 4 bucks which strikes me as both excessive and a darn good deal. Perhaps not the greatest you've ever tasted, but boy do you get a lot! And if you're living in the neighborhood a mediocre but cheap pizza place may be just what you want to have on your block. Delivery and pick up of entire pizzas also available. Long overdue to review this place. I've been getting pizza there for over 25 years. I first remember getting pizza with my dad there when he was a city cop. Then when I started working in the city as a paramedic, it was a regular late time stop. (Hey, who's got time to pack a lunch?). Now as a city cop myself, it's the go to spot when a fella feels the need for pizza while on the road! I recommend it to friends. To co workers. To strangers. Food is awesome. It's been awhile since I've been to Randy's, but I regret that now. Their donairs are incredibly delicious. Not the generic Donair meat from Sysco, but they use their own spices and have them made. A small group of us went to Randy's last night for a bite. We decided to eat there. The food was great and most of the staff was great as well except for one guy who happened to be delivering that night. I sure hope he wasn't the owner although he sure acted like it. His rude comments and snarky stares ruined our experience completely. It's a shame because I liked the prices and the portions, and would definitely have gone back, but after that experience there are five of us that will never be customers there again, and we will definitely not be sending our friends. Customer service is key. Make them feel welcome, make them feel good about their night. Don't be a prick. read more

This is the best pizza place in Halifax. Pizza with personality! Their sauce is delicious, they are liberal in their ingredients, if you catch them at the right time they probably won't charge you full price, their entire menu is delicious, they are open to requests (one time I had them spell Happy Birthday in pepperoni on a jumbo pizza), and they are all beyond friendly (with the exception of one new guy, but lets give him some time). I love going in and having small talk with everyone there. They seem intimidating but they're great. Also one time I left my headlights on and killed the battery in my car and they gave me a boost, so it's hard to complain. read more

You will want to get into full hazmat attire before tucking into one of Randy's donairs. The meat, which is actually quite good, is covered in some kind of gloppy, sticky, sickly sweet sauce which cannot be removed from human skin even with dedicated rinsing and scrubbing. And without your hazmat suit, you will be covered with the stuff within seconds of trying to peel the tinfoil from the pita. Apparently, the local Haligonians believe this horrid sauce improves upon the middle eastern standby -- tahini. In any case, the pita is so overstuffed with meat and sauce that it basically explodes the moment you touch the sticky tinfoil containing it. With six of us chowing down in a hotel room, we were quickly knee deep in sauce and shreds of mystery meat. Heartburn is virtually guaranteed within 15 minutes of consumption. Then there's the "garlic fingers" -- basically a Wonder Bread pizza covered with a layer of something disturbingly similar to the special sauce, and cut into dry chewy slivers. If possible, just buy a sack of the meat and eat it in your bathtub. read more
