They, and a couple of other staff, were friendly and helpful. Since this was during CoVid, masks were required. The dining area was closed, but coffee was available. We had a room on the first floor, facing a beautiful courtyard. The window overlooked the parking lot, which had many parking spots. The room was big, and well lit. In addition to bedside wall lamps, a lamp was on a table by the sleeper sofa and easy chair. We also had an office chair, and high backed chair. When we walked into the room, we turned on the ceiling light. During the night, when we made our nightly trips to the bathroom (with necessary amenities of soaps, make up remover, lotion and conditioner), we were thankful for the orange light on the blow dryer. We used the medium sized fridge, but did not make the coffee that was provided. We did not need the microwave, but we were glad it was there - just in case. We used the clock radio and flat screen TV, which had excellent reception. The wifi was also good. We did not use the fitness room or pool, and both looked very nice. Since the dining area was closed, In the morning we were offered "breakfast to go" - which was good. I chose an orange & the box of frosted mini wheats. I could have had Frosted Flakes or two other boxed cereals. We were offered other items, including granola bars, but I can't remember them all. Husband had two of the breakfast burritos (excellent - eggs, sausage & peppers in burrito), and we each had juice (3 kinds to choose from). Juices were next to the cooler containing yogurts and milk cartons. A note nearby asked us to use a napkin for all handles and knobs to remain sanitary. For a quick breakfast, it was good and filling. We ate comfortably in our room. Atul offered tissues to us when we checked out. He apologized when we told him that we had none in our room. We used some we'd brought with us. He also offered more breakfast items or burritos for the road, but we were full. We will definitely stay here when we return to this part of FL.

Stayed here previously with no issues about 5 years back…read more This trip. Very disappointed. Very old and not taken care of. Needs updating. Needs cleaning. Maintenance is needed in all areas inside and out. The outside yard is overgrown and left in a mess. Our rooms floors were extremely dirty, the remote was sticky and covered in some kind of film. The shower never got hot... just warm and the shower head was horribly dirty with thick corrosion. I wiped as much off as possible. The tub was was sticky and slimy to stand in. No excuse for this nastiness. Will not be back Room 109/110

You are required to sit on the patio. You may not take the dog into check-in, you may not take the dog in to order dinner... Or get a drink... You have to tie your dog up outside if you're alone... And walk in and ask for somebody to please help you. It is made very clear and I understand that it's summer and it's hot but no one wants to come outside and help you. It's not that they're rude. They're just unwilling. The rooms are tiny, but I was put in the decoration is cute. I'm still waiting on review the dinner. Overall overpriced under delivered if you're going to express yourself as a designer dog friendly to owners and pets please acquire a staff that is accommodating to the owner and the pet. I respect that the Inn is historical and would like to preserve the originality and presentation. However, if you're going to offer ,again, dog friendly services, please designated staff member to take care of those people who are traveling with their dogs who are forced to sit outside in the heat so as to expedite their experience and make it easier for wait staff and patron. Just a note I paid $400 to stay here to enjoy the historical part of Apalachicola. Thank you Gibson inn for providing a beautiful place to stay in a bit of history that is no longer present in Florida. Definitely overall not worth what they charge. Actually, if you guys go on, the service is just completely terrible. The roads are always just can't get this a good review overall from my perspective. I think you were traveling without dogs posted with the family. It would be a better experience still very, very overpriced for what you get.
