This is an awesome little bed abs breakfast. Renovated some years ago, guaranteed to be a quiet relaxing stay. Lots of local restaurants around. Only four rooms upstairs and a suite downstairs. I would recommend staying here and going out to enjoy the large wraparound porch upstairs! It's a self check in process and super easy. You also get breakfast coupons to enjoy with anyone of five different restaurants for breakfast lunch or dinner. They're up to seven dollars each and it was a wonderful experience.

We just checked in and I will update after my stay that is only for one night. Perfect location. It's a bit outdated. Sheets and pillows have stains, rooms are very dusty, mattresses worn but comfortable. Seems unkept. Quaint place but needs work on the yard, plants, grounds. Updating/ painting on home, rooms and cleaning needed.its warm and stuffy inside. We were on the bottom floor. I recommend bringing a fan. We only had a quarter roll of toilet paper in our bathroom and no more to be found. There was no contact with owners what so ever, nobody checked on us to make sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. We did receive a couple vouchers for $7. Each off a meal at a local place. It was very quiet and private. We stayed in the captains quarters.

Gorgeous old place - historic hotel converted to B&B - shady verandas and charmingly overgrown gardens - could be a Tennessee Williams stage set.

This motel is a quick stop on highway 98 and conveniently in Carabelle. Walk across the street,…read moredown the block, to the Fishermans wife restaurant, which is very good for dinner. Our room was big with a king bed and dining table. Every part of the room was clean and new looking (except for the coffee pot). Each room overlooks the marina and river. We had a second floor room on the end, next to the stairs and main driveway. No smoking, no pets (this room), and no fish cleaning! Stiff fines if rules are violated. It was rather quiet in January, but we could hear trucks passing by on hwy 98 and were awakened early, 5 am, by a hunting dog howling several times (duck hunting season). The breakfast was complete and unexpectedly good. The breakfast is served in another building near the bridge, so it's a short walk. The bed seemed very firm (hard) and the pillows were slabs of hard foam. Bring your own pillow, if you're not used to trailing camping. This should be a three-star review, but the condition of the room, the view off the balcony, the breakfast, the price, the staff, and convenience are worth at least a star bump, maybe more. If we return, we will probably stay again.

This hotel has to be one of the worst places I have stayed in a very long time. The bed sucked,…read morethe air conditioning didn't work well enough to keep the humidity out of the room, there was no water pressure, there was a bar soap that was the size of a quarter to wash your hands, the curtains weren't big enough to cover the windows, and the electric plug kept popping making us think there was a problem with the electricity. You can also enjoy this for the economic price of 219.00 a night.

No time to ponder that as a very large palmetto bug runs across the wall next to me. I'm phobic about those roaches but finally managed to dispatch it with my shoe. Some of it may still be in the rug with who knows what else. My wife takes a shower and the water stinks to high heavens of sulphur, or something like it. She freaks out but I tell her that in some areas water can have an oder. We brush our teeth, next morning brush our teeth again and wash up, water still smells to high heavens. We go to lobby for breakfast (arrive at 9:31 am per my iPhone), breakfast closes at 9:30 so out of luck there. My wife mentions the awful smell to the two clerks on duty. They ask, weren't you told about the water? No. They show us a bulletin from the city warning people NOT TO USE THE WATER unless you boil it for a full minute. Including not to brush your teeth. First we heard of this, night clerk failed to advise us. But why aren't notices out in rooms? Why not give us bottled water? How are we to shower or brush our teeth? And we were charged full fare. We both had stomach and intestinal issues for the next two days. So no, I don't recommend this place.

I've stayed in…read morethe room closest to the bay on the right, the front left room and one of the upstairs room. I can never remember the names but they've all been good. The only thing I'll say though Is if sound bothers you, you should stay upstairs as it's quieter during the evening/night. Recently, they've repainted the exterior and are now a turquoise color. You get access to the bay from the attached dock and they have a few things for rental like kayaks, canoes, bikes. They also have a hot tub but people hop in early so it's always full Parking lot is small so basically 1 car/room Wendy is wonderful & so is Shay who comes to help when it's full. This past visit they made us quiche one day and waffles another and both meals were delicious and plenty of food to be full from. They also do coffee, orange juice and fruit water in the morning They have a communal microwave and dishware to use and rooms get their own little fridge They have access to the beach across the street and there's a convenience store across the street too. A few restaurants close by but port st Joe is a small and quiet town so the beach isn't crowded hardly ever You can go catch scallops during the late summer, if I recall and it gets pretty busy then Lots of locals eating at the same restaurants in the area so don't expect 5 star dining but the food is pretty good and seafood is fresh in the area Small park nearby as well and lots of seashells

A beautiful Hidden Gem! Gotta check it out if you are ever in the area. Absolutely gorgeous place…read moreto visit
