I really enjoyed my stay at The Moorings! It is under NEW OWNERSHIP and the new owner and staff are very nice! The marina is huge with really nice docks and slips for boats of all sizes. This motel is a quick stop on highway 98 and conveniently in Carabelle. Walk across the street, down the block, to the Fishermans wife restaurant, which is very good for dinner. Our room was big with a king bed and dining table. Every part of the room was clean and new looking (except for the coffee pot). Each room overlooks the marina and river. We had a second floor room on the end, next to the stairs and main driveway. No smoking, no pets (this room), and no fish cleaning! Stiff fines if rules are violated. It was rather quiet in January, but we could hear trucks passing by on hwy 98 and were awakened early, 5 am, by a hunting dog howling several times (duck hunting season). The breakfast was complete and unexpectedly good. The breakfast is served in another building near the bridge, so it's a short walk. The bed seemed very firm (hard) and the pillows were slabs of hard foam. Bring your own pillow, if you're not used to trailing camping. This should be a three-star review, but the condition of the room, the view off the balcony, the breakfast, the price, the staff, and convenience are worth at least a star bump, maybe more. If we return, we will probably stay again. read more

This is a motel that caters to drunken fishermen and their redneck sluts. It is a really crappy place to stay unless your boat is moored outback and you drink yourself to sleep. Otherwise, do yourself a HUGE favor, keep driving and sleep in your car if you have to. It's the only game in town, which is how it stays open. No amenities. No decor. Just a loud mini fridge and even louder wall mount air conditioner with stark beige walls and dilapidated furniture. Oh, and it's an unbelievable $125 per night. Absolutely disgusting. The only thing I can say good about the place is that the staff are very friendly. read more

We rented three rooms; we understand it was no frills (fine with us--family with three young teens). The faulty fire alarm woke us up all night in one of the rooms. Upon checkout, we complained to management about this. Their response: a shrug and "So?" Maybe when Hurricane cleanup is over they will care again? So, to recap: WE NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I was staying in this hotel for 2 nights. I liked the room, which was big, a bit higher than regular ceilings , nice bed, bathroom , microwave, refrigerator - all that you need to stay for few days. That was fine with me. The place was very clean . Except the AC unit was so loud, that waking up at night from that I was not able to fall asleep for few hours. Should be changed. Breakfast was small, just Ok. I think people who were there with boats were very happy - the price for the boat to stay at the marina was fair, everything well organized and easy to bring and take out the boat. Overall the service was friendly , helpful and caring. read more

If you are looking for some serious quiet, small town fun this is your stop. Tons of history. Home of the world's smallest police station. Lol. The hotel was super clean. The breakfast was awesome complimentary eggs, sausage, and more. We actually chartered there 54 ft boat and went to Apalachicola and had lunch. Grocery store and restaurants with in walking distance. Bicycle rentals as well. read more

Great place to stay. We decided to travel along coastline and just picked a place on the map. We made no reservations just decided we would stop wherever. Pulled in at Moorings at Carrabelle around 1 am and were greeted by the night security. He was great. He got us checked in and showed us where we could park our truck and boat. He arranged for a late checkout since we got here so late. The room has a seating area outside the back door that overlooks the marina. Going to see if we can find part needed to repair our boat and maybe stay a few more days. If not, its definitely on my list of places to come back to. read more

Nice little roadside hotel in Carrabelle. I rate my hotels via what I pay for. First, this is not a five star resort. It is a basic hotel with simple amenities. If you are looking for a resort with beachfront property and spas and bars, then keep moving because this ain't your place. Nice folks, clean room, simple views, large room, simple breakfast in morning. Just the basics. But fair price for the service and quality you get. Bonus is a awesome seafood restaurant across the street. Will return to location if I am ever back in this isolated area of Florida. read more

We travelled here from Orlando where we are used to 24 hour 7/11's and grocery stores. You know, everything at your fingertips. I'm gonna start off by saying this is Not a Big hotel with concierge services but a small laid back fisherman town (Think more like Marathon in the Keys;) friendly laid back community with great seafood and nice people. (Note; most restaurants and stores close by 8pm except for some raw bars) The hotel and staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was clean & spacious. There's not a lot to do in Carrabelle Florida except sit back and enjoy the sunset with a nice Sweet tea or cocktail of your choice. We stayed here while visiting family and friends. I highly reccomend the Moorings. They have a nice pool for guest, free breakfast in the mornings (eggs, sausage, english muffins and great coffee) a chart room for boaters with a pool table, bathing quarters, lounge and 72" tv with cable service. (They let us go in and look;) They have 24 hour dock service for boaters and offer a free boat slip with a purchase of a room. We chartered their boat the "Fu Lyn Su" over to Appalachacola for the day and had a great lunch at the Owl Caffe. My family and I had a wonderful time here! Thank you for the hospitality Moorings!!! If we ever happen to come back to this side of Florida we will be staying here again! read more

This hotel is on the water in a little Florida town. It's very clean and spacious and peaceful. The residents of Carribelle are so friendly. We enjoyed it very much. Staff is very friendly and helpful also. read more

There was an event in Carrabelle this weekend; my spouse and I decided to say here. Admittedly we went to the event as an excuse to stuff our faces over in Eastpoint, FL at Lynn's Quality Oysters. We booked a one night stay in a room with one king sized bed and of course a full bathroom. The room was huge. All rooms have a microwave, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator. Our room at least had an additional sink near the coffee maker. Our room was freshly remodeled, it seemed. The mentioned microwave, et.al. appeared brand new and unused. The floors were all brand new hardwood veneered. No nasty carpet to retain mold, etc. The back of our room opened up in the back to the pier area below. A paved walkway and a fence separate the two. There is a complimentary breakfast but we decided to eat elsewhere. There are more expensive rooms available but ours was very reasonable (I thought) at $80. On the down side, the air conditioner was very loud; but cooled with perfection. Lastly if you are not from the area; be sure to take some insect repellent, as at time in the early morning the sand gnats are superb at being pests. read more

We got here after 9 and the night watchman checked us in. He rang us for a little more than our room and told us they would adjust it in the am, which they readily and easily did. I was very pleased. Our room was spacious, sweetly decorated, and the bed was comfortable. The place was very quiet and had a back door that looked out over the marina, and I went out there after my husband fell asleep and it was cool, quiet and peaceful. Nice flat screen with satellite TV. Nice big bathroom and plenty of towels. Nice continental breakfast had french toast for a nice change! I would definitely recommend. We didn't use it, but the pool looked great. I would definitely come back again! read more
