Great place to stay while visiting the area...campground is right on the water. Loved the long pier. Watched dolphins, kayaked, saw a bald eagle. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the view from from the tier A camp sites. It is a beautiful, quiet, and well kept place to stay. Prices are nice for pristine water front. Fishing dock and place to launch small boats (canoes, kayaks) on site and places down the road to launch bigger boats. Will definitely stay again.

Extremely friendly staff--always Next to the water!Quiet. Nice sunrise and sunset. Little to no vehicles riding through Level spots. Spots are not tight like Carabelle Beach Club RV sites. You can spread out here. Plenty of room even with a 34' trailer, truck and car that I have. Additional parking off to the side for a small boat is available as well. Full hook-ups, 50 & 30 amp plug-ins, but no extra outlets such as a 15 or 20 amp 3-prong plug-in, so bring an adapter if you have an outside appliance you want to run on a heavy extension cord. (I bought a RV 30 amp to 15 amp adapter at Camping World for $8. Then with another adaptor, I use the 50 amp hookup for my 30 amp RV.). I like to cook outside on my gas grill and electric skillet. Therefore, with the 30 amp or 50 amp hookup "adaptor" with a heavy extension cord, you will have plenty of power to run any outdoor equipment. IGA grocery store, Dollar General, fuel stations, "Twice The Ice" station, seafood markets, restaurants, and bars located in nearby Carrabelle FL. Just down right peaceful and quiet. St. George Island is about 25 minute drive if you like the nightlife. A huge State public beach with picnic tables, bathrooms and outdoor shower rinse is less than 10 miles away. Ho-Hum is managed daily by RV'ers who stay at the park for a reduced rate/free. These couples are hand-picked by the owner and are The Best. They do it because they enjoy it. Not because they want to stay for free. They stay for several months and understand the RV life. The Maintenance Man is a full-timer who has been there for centuries and really cares for the place. He really helps with any issues you may encounter. Pride and professionalism is evident. I've never been in their bath houses or laundry because my RV is well equipped. So no comments there. No, this place doesn't have a pool, but it's quiet without kids and has much better people staying here with many of them being retirees, like myself. It is ON THE WATER with a dock and I like that. Views are great. I shall return.

I give this park five stars for being great at what it is. No frills, clean, on the beach, 50 amp, friendly staff.

Ask the Community - Ho-Hum RV Park

Are 5th wheels allowed on beach side or only busses?

Unfortunately, the positioning of the utilities only accommodate motor homes on the beach front but the tier B sites offer a great view of the water also.

Getting close to retirement and have sold my house and bought a fifthwheel. I'm looking for a quiet place in the sun through the winter months. Is this a place to consider?

Absolutely, if you like rural place with little traffic and nice people.

    Do they have sewer?

    Yes! Full hook ups.

The dock has great fishing and the dolphins frequently come in within 20 feet of the shoreline chasing fish.

So during the day it's not always quiet, but the night I was there was quiet. I would recommend running the water first because it hadn't been run in a while and I had black stuff coming out of my faucet. There was also a wasp nest in the power box so I had to take care of that. Also, the fire pit was filled with about a 3 inch layer of ash that I cleaned out before I made my first fire. There's a guy's phone number on the kiosk that you can call for firewood. He's not affiliated with the park but will bring a bundle for seven dollars plus a delivery fee. There isn't a dedicated hose for black water tank flushing, so I hooked up my own (luckily brand new) hose to the potable water faucet. It would be much better and recommended to have a separate spigot for black water flush hoses. The sunset was beautiful and it seems the fishing is good although I didn't fish. The site had a picnic table, and the firepit has a grate for cooking albeit rusty. I had my grilling supplies and got some of the flakes off. The bathrooms were also big and clean. There is no camp host here FYI. Just pull in and park.

Granted we were here the week of Christmas but we practically had the beach to ourselves. At the "retreat" it's just as they advertised a large gravel parking area designed for a class A camper to pull in (leaving the entrance on the right side of the unit). Pulling a trailer in will mean you back out, it also means that you may have to do a little fancy stuff to get your tow vehicle out from under your unit to run into town. We are about 48' combined and we fit without any issues. It's about 15 minutes to the closest fuel spot but just about 5 minutes to a great restaurant and general store with average selection of supplies.

We took our coffee to the beach early each morning before breakfast and took a stroll on the beach with our dogs every evening (yep, the beach is dog friendly). This site has colorful chairs around a fire pit and mature palms giving it a tropical vibe. Short drive to downtown Port St Joe where we enjoyed live music by Chris Godber at the Sister's Bistro. This was just one of the dining spots we tried, all good. This was the most relaxing vaca I've had in years. We will definitely return.

I haven't been here since the hurricane of 2018 and it was good to see the recovery has progressed nicely knowing that these catastrophes aren't easy to come back from, it says a lot of the people in the area that adversity is only a minor setback for most that call this area home. I don't like arriving at any campground after the sunsets especially when I'm unfamiliar with the set-up but I ensured everything I needed was communicated clearly long before arriving, the staff here was very accommodating and did exactly what we agreed to so life was pretty good even though we arrived after 9:00 PM. You'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful setting, this RV Resort is nestled in a quiet area just outside the town of Carrabelle and directly across from Carrabelle Beach. Anytime you can enjoy a well crafted cocktail at your campsite and can see the gentle waves of the Gulf lap the sand on the mostly secluded beach between sips means you've found a little piece of paradise. The campground is well maintained and all the amenities added to the experience. The sites are clean and spacious even for my forty foot MotorCoach but maneuvering into your spot can be a little challenging. The pads are set ninety degrees to the entrance roads so a watchful eye and a little patience will pay dividends and keep any frustrations at bay. All the neighbors were friendly and helpful and always eager to assist, this is one of the parts of RVing I really love. I was happy to see the electrical, water and sewer hookups were well maintained and the grounds are immaculate. Once the setup is completed the fun can begin and whether it's a serene walk on the beach or a drive into town there are plenty of things to enjoy here, but honestly RVing provides a level of enjoyment that doesn't require a lot of outside interaction, meeting new people and enjoying cocktails with people that share the same interest is always part of the adventure, but sitting in a comfortable chair with the grill going under the shade of the canopy is something that's hard to replicate. It's more about owning all your own time and spending it with people you love to spending that time with. We encountered no issues with the amenities here, the prices are reasonable and I never had to interact with the staff being all the business was conducted online, any trash I put roadside disappeared each morning and it was very quiet and peaceful it's not surprising to me that so many people return here year after year. This area offers a lot of things to do and see but best of all it provides a great atmosphere where doing nothing at all seems to be the most enjoyable times...
