With an hour to kill, I decided to pop in for a pastry and espresso. Lourdes is a very local place. None of the employees or customers spoke English, but that's how it should be in Mexico. Inside was very clean, and we were able to communicate with no problem. While looking over the treat cases, I was excited to see a chocolate cupcake labeled as "Keto." Trying to be good (and since I was getting ready to shove about 6 tacos down my piehole later that afternoon), I bought the low carb cake along with an espresso. I was nervous drinking the coffee because I'm not sure if they use filtered water here, but my tummy was fine after. I guess the super hot water kills any bugs. Your mileage may vary, and I probably wouldn't order espresso here again. It was literally a Nespresso pod (which I use at home every day). The cake was tasty, especially for one with limited sugar! It was a nice breakfast treat to share. We took a seat at one of the the little outdoor tables to enjoy the warm Mexican breeze. There's not a view to speak of (it's just a parking lot), but it was still nice. Two espressos and a large keto cupcake set us back 108 pesos ($5 U.S. dollars).

Been here 3 -5 times in the past 2 months. Today was the topper though. They gave us menus when we walked in and despite 3 different employees walking right by, over a 10 minute period, none of them acknowledged us. Not even the server serving the table right next to us. So I get up and walk to the register where 3 employees are hovering around the front counter, nobody really doing anything that seemed urgent. I let them know we've been sitting and waiting for a good 10 min plus for someone to take our order. Gal at counter took my drink order and says someone will take my order when they bring my cappuccinos. Great, I guess we'll be waiting another 5 or so minutes to place our order. Once they took our order, food came out in a reasonable time but that was it. No checking back with us or any of the standard sit-down restaurant service. I even had to go up to register to grab my check. It's a shame a restaurant with better than average food can't perform average customer service. Pastries are solid 4.5 stars but I am giving 2 stars to see if we get the attention of the owners/management. PS. There was lipstick on my coffee cup too.

5/11/2026 CHOCO CHIP…read morePISTACHIO COOKIE Wow! This was reeeeally good! It was crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. Lots of chocolate and I think they added toffee in it too. The middle section had pistachio frangipane (or it looked like it) with coarsely chopped pistachios that brought another layer of crunch! Then to top it all off, it had pistachio cream on top of the cookie! I only wish I got another one. CAPPUCCINO It was okay. But love the foam! It was frothy and foamy! PAVLOVA The meringue was a bit too hard and too sweet and the pastry cream was overwhipped. Loved the fresh fig and blueberries though. I was looking forward to eating pavlova and this was very disappointing! KOUIGN AMANN Very buttery and sticky! Crispy on the outside. Every bite was not dry, but chewy. There was this sticky and chewy texture that wasn't unpleasant, yet it wasn't fully flaky like a croissant. But glad it was not dry! The kouign amann was not as tall like others I've tried, but I preferred it this way because it was not dry. The last kouign amann I had from Bread Lounge was dryyyy. But bought mine at a coffee shop too. PAIN AU CHOCOLAT Crispy on the outside, but I must have toasted a bit more, so the outside was a bit more toasted than desired. Inside was good. Good dark chocolate. BUTTER CROISSANT Really buttery, flaky, crispy! Ate it next day, so reheated it in the toaster oven to bring a more crispness all around. Really enjoyed this! Adding butter and jam is so good! LEMON MERINGUE Meringue had a strong eggy smell and flavor, the lemon was tangy, but not enough to rid of the eggy smell and flavor. The tart was hard and almost stale. I took a few bites and threw the rest out. PAIN SUISSE Chocolate flavor. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a light spongy cake inside. Enjoyed this! CUSTOMER SERVICE Got there early afternoon. There was only one person in front of me. Good service overall. Quick service. Hits and misses of the various pastries I've tried. It will not deter me from trying their pastries though, as the really good ones were really good! Would love to return! Especially for that Choco Chip Pistachio Cookie! LOCATED INSIDE ANOTHER STORE Located inside a store called Floral Palette, which is a floral shop and specialty gift store. Beautiful store! The sign is big, so you cannot miss it!

What truly blew us away was the passionfruit macaron--it tasted exactly like our wedding cake from 19 years ago. My wife and I looked at each other in shock and both said "wedding cake!" at the same time. It was such a fun, nostalgic moment. We also tried the mushroom chocolate dessert, which was perfectly balanced--not too rich, not too sweet, just excellent. The Dubai chocolate croissant was unique, delicious, and a lot of fun. Yes, prices are a bit higher than a typical bakery, but the quality and flavors make every extra cent worth it. If you're in Pacific Beach and looking for an outstanding dessert spot, look no further than "Desserts by Clément. Instagram made me come here (thanks Keila)…read more What we tried: The *new* pink bear (strawberry), Brown Bear (chocolate), mango, mushroom, butter croissant and Vanilla latte. Ratings: pink- for any Hispanic people reading this, this reminded me sooo much of a Danonino 8/10, brown bear 9/10, mango 9/10, mushroom 8/10, croissant 8/10. All of the desserts had a great exterior crunch, beautiful, and not overly sweet (much appreciated). This place is very much an experience, pastries were all good. I enjoyed the mango the most. The coffee was okay, again not overly sweet which I liked. I loved the aesthetic with teddy bears, very cute. The restroom was cute and clean. Cashier was friendly. Parking can be tricky and limited but luckily found very close spot. Will definitely return to try more.
